I want to make a Crazy Quilt someday. This book would be a great inspiration for me to get going on my bags of scraps.
I am doing a scrapper strings quilt. And so far, I love it
I love scrappy quilts!!! I have been working on re-organizing my scraps and always have crumb blocks going as my bonus sewing. I would love to have the book for ideas of what to do with them.
Love making scrappy string quilts. Looks like a great book.
Thanks for a chance to win this very interesting book! Love making scrappy quilts!
Hi Pat, I enjoy string, four patch, log cabin and many other scrap quilts. Scrap quilts seem to say, “here’s a special hug and love.” Goodness knows I’ve a ton of fabric to use!
If my scrap quilt is made of traditional blocks, then I like them to be a more controlled scrappy with colors that are more planned. But I also just love string quilts and for those, every but the kitchen sink goes into those. If ten different fabrics are great, 100 are even better.
I like to see the different sized scraps together until I get about 10 in square. My grandchildren like to sew the scraps together and tell them there is no wrong way. Just be creative. When I make enough I design a quilt for a grandchild with the blocks they have worked on. I label it as a quilt made together. So fun!
I love making scrappy quilts because it uses up fabric pieces and doesnβt waste anything. Great was to make an inexpensive quilt to donate for someone to use and love.
I haven’t made a scrappy quilt myself, but I do love the random, artistic style. It’s on my “to do” list!
I love scrappy quilts in all my favorite colors-purples, blues and pinks.
I love wonky, crazy log cabin blocks. The book looks amazing!
I like and make allsorts of scrappy quilts, mainly crumb one to use up the left over bits of fabric.
One of my goals this year is to sew from my stash. So far, so good. Iβm so happy to see empty space opening upβ¦Soon I wIβll Need to purchase more fabric! As a result of this goal, a lot of scraps are accumulated so I am looking for scrappy quilts to make. Would love to have this book for ideas!
I adore Scrappy Quilts! Not only are they fun to look at, but they are great reminders of past Quilting projects. Since I don’t have a large scrap stash (yet), I love hunting for pretty fabrics in thrift shops to build my palette from, (my favorite finds are always the bags of scrap pieces).
I made a some crumb blocks a few years ago, I think I will have to dig those out and play around with them. I enjoy making scrappy quilts.
Love scrappy quilts. I have tried several different kinds, from string quilts made from strips of various widths, also have made them into kind of a wonky log cabin blocks, then cut them up and sewed different pieces together. I donβt think I have made a full sized quilt, usually just table runner or wall hanging size. They are fun to do when you want to do something easy after struggling a bit with a difficult project. Itβs kind of freeing to just try something different to see βwhat ifβ. . This book looks interesting, one I might buy just for the ideas.
I like scrappy quilts with lots of colors and different shaped blocks. I really want to try the rose looking block from this book.
Iβm more of a βcontrolled scrappyβ type of person, so I havenβt made many scrappy quilts. But Iβm working on my first oneβ¦ a king-size βHappy Little Wishesβ which is using up a ton of my 2.5β squares!
Just finished up my third scrappy quilt….my favorite is just crazy quilting to use up all shapes of scraps!!
i enjoy scrappy quilts, but I need a little space in them. π
I love making scrappy quilts using the quilt as you go as this method makes all the scraps pop
A copy of the wonky scrappy book would give me more ideas on how to lay out the scraps
Please can I win this beautiful book
I enjoy using bright colors in my quilts. Scrappy quilts I have made use leftovers of the bright fabrics.
I like using scraps for sampler quilts. I can use any colors and then tone-on-tones or florals etc to coordinate. I still occasionally use a collection, but they’ve gotten so expensive!
I love scrappy quilts, all of them. My students (when I have them) know that my mantra is “More is Better!” It matters not if the red in fabric A does mot match the red in fabric D or M, because there are so many colors they all match. Look at nature – did all of those colors match? There is such a variety that our whole world is one big scrappy quilt!
My favorite scrap quilts are string block quilts, because there are so many variations. And I have made a jelly roll race quilt with my blue scrap strips and included some tan strips for accent, that I absolutely love. That was very inspirational today on using scrap blocks. Thank you Pat.
Love string quilts with some coordination for color.
I Have been saving my scraps forever, but I cannot for the life of me decide what to do with them. I need to have some useful patterns/books to do something that makes controlled scrappy. I need balance and symmetry in my quilts. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome book.
I like making scrappy crazy quilts. also scrappy log cabins! Would love the book.
I only make scrappy quilts. I do not know how to match fabric very well. So scrappy it is. I buy fabric I like and don’t match it to any thing. This book would be perfect for me. I do a lot of Oh My Stars you don’t have to match anything. Hope I win. Thank you
I like βcontrolledβ scrappy quilts. I need a design element to it or it just looks junkie to me or my colors donβt mesh well.
I love, love scrappy quilts! I don’t do them by colors, just mix and match!
My first scrappy quilt needed some control of the chaos and became a color wash quilt, still my favorite treatment for scraps!
As a beginning quilter, I don’t really know how many variations of scrappy quilts there are. I’ve not made one yet, but aspire to one day. I’m still learning so much from watching Pat each day.
I like any kind of scrappy quilts. I especially like to make 16 patch blocks as my leaders and enders.
I like scrappy strip quilts.
I love bright scrapy quilts. Just about every block can look good scrapy. π
I love turning the scraps into their own special quilts. That way they don’t feel like they’re orphans any more! Lol
Most if my quilts are scraps. I can’t throw anything out. Although I have started only saving 2 1/2 in and bigger pieces.
I love scrap quilts because, like you, I am “frugal”. I like to use strips and 2 Β½ inch blocks of leftover fabric from various projects to make quilts to donate. The problem is, the scrap pile never seems to get smaller!
I love making scrappy blocks. I’ve made strings, wonky log cabins, wonky stars and improv (just stitching pieces together to see what happens). Love the video and this book looks amazing.
I LOVE almost every scrap quilt. Seriously scrap quilts provide endless possibilities for our creative natures. This book is a great example of all the different possibilities.
What a fun creative book. I love doing things that are outside the normal. It keeps my creative juices flowing.
I like mostly any type of scrappy quilt. The scrappier the better.
I love scrappy quilts! I do prefer to have some control over the scraps though. I frequently will decide on the colors then go to my stash and pull them from there. I love doing 4 or 9 patch quilts with scraps.
Unicorn poop is my go to scrappy π¦
I like a scrappy quilt that is somewhat organized. I donβt like chaotic!
I love taking 1/2 sq triangles from projects, using them as leader and Enders and making potholders
Scrap quilts just make me happy–both making and looking at them.
I love traditional piecing and crazy piecing with my scraps. It is satisfying watching the quilts come together from the leftovers of other quilts I have made
