Would you like to win a copy of this amazing book?

Leave me a comment by 6pm easter time on July 2, 2024 telling me:

** What type of scrappy quilts do you like?

Winner is Vivian who said "I like "kitchen sink" scrap quilts — the ones that use scraps of any kind or color. String and crumb quilts are fun too as you don't even need the scraps to be precisely cut to use them in the blocks! This looks like a fun book."

  1. I like scrappy quilts with lots of fabric variety. I have lots of older fabrics of mine and inherited from my mother in-law. My colour palette has changed over the years and I donโ€™t want to waste them. I am planning to cut up the fabrics to make scrappy quilts.

  2. I love making all types of scrappy blocks for quilts, table runners and whatever else have you in the sewing world! I love the potato chip block! It is so easy to make them, and you can make quilts from them for just about anyone, babies to adults!

  3. I have so many scraps that my husband won’t let me buy anything more until I use them up! I’m always on the lookout for this type of book. Help!!! I want to buy more new things!!!

  4. I love the scraps out of my scrap bin. All those pieces make beautiful quilts. I call them my bonus quilts. They only take thread and a happy day sewing.

  5. My favorite quilts overall are scrappy quilts that use as many different fabrics as possible to create an overall design using color values (light/dark).

  6. Iโ€™ve never met a scrappy quilt I didnโ€™t like, but my favorite was a 3×5 one. My husband carried 3×5โ€ in his shirt pocket for notes. So when he retired I made him a 3×5 of all my fabric.

  7. I like scrappy string quilts. I even try to use up my scraps by making scrappy 6 1/2″ square blocks.

  8. I like to make scrappy baby quilts. Gender neutral with lots of fun prints is my first choice. I save my cut off scraps for scrappy bindings too.

  9. My favorite method of scrap quilting is with crumb quilt blocks. This Don Quixote block would work well.

  10. I (now) love scrappy quilts. I’ve made log cabin, string quilts and crumb quilts using small, uneven shapes. I’m now sewing with 2.5″ leaders and enders. I still prefer a controlled setting using monotone sashing or thin strips making a design within in the scraps. I’m drooling over your teal scrappy bed-size quilt and an older one you made using all light squares with red sashing and gray/black dot cornerstones. Both are on my to do list! Making scrap quilts is freeing, and at this stage in life a girl (me!) just wants to have fun! Thanks for your inspiration!

  11. I would love to win the scrappy book. I do love the scrappy look and would like to learn more about such fascinating designers. I do hope I win the digital copy.

  12. I love planned/controlled scrappy quilts. But I do love the scrappy binding on a quilt gifted to me.

  13. I like controlled scrappy quilts. I have quite a few blocks pinned to a dress form waiting to be put into some kind of quilt. On my someday list.
The book looks amazing. Wonky quilts are so intriguing. Something that looks like fun!

  14. I like “crazy” quilt scrappyness! Different shapes, sizes, colors. My mother-in-law had several of them.

  15. I love your drawer of orphan blocks! This is a great way to use those โ€˜not quite the right sizeโ€™ blocks.

  16. I like using my scraps in table runners and small wall hangings. Iโ€™ve also used them to make small sampler blocks. I plan trying a string quilt . I love how your crumb block turned out today. The authors have some fun ideas for using up scraps..

  17. I love making scrappy quilts. I’m was in a club called out the Box’s. and it was the best time. The store close. So we don’t get together anymore. ๐Ÿฆ‹

  18. I love the idea of putting together any piece of fabric along with something else then squaring them up into a block(s) to come up with a unique quilt. I am in the process of saving my scraps to do this.

  19. I love to use my actual, real scraps to make just about any style block for quilts. When my scraps get numerous enough to have lots of variety, Iโ€™ll pick out a block to make and continue till there are enough blocks for a bed quilt. With my crumb scraps I like to make slabs of fabric then use them as if they are fat quarters or layer cakes, etc. I enjoyed your tour of the book.

  20. I would love to win a copy of the Scrappy Quilt Extravaganza! I really like Log Cabin blocks with scrappy fabric. Thank you for the opportunity to winโฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ„

  21. I love scrappy quilts. I find that I mostly enjoy a beautiful random scrappy. I call them happy quilts. Whenever I try to make a controlled scrappy, I feel like it loses the sparkle. It could be that I am a fairly new quilter and don’t have a wide range of scraps.

  22. I love making scrappy log cabin quilts. Using various width size of strips. Out of the block you can make small or as big as you want. Great for pillows, potholders and even project bags. It’s fun to see your scrap pile go down as you make fun projects.

  23. I love scrappy Improv — my go-to style is traditional/fpp, but improv and scrappy get me out of my comfort zone and let me just relax and enjoy! Just finishing up an improv wall hanging, the only ‘rule’ i put on it was all the fabric to be pulled from this one bag of scraps. Not short of scraps loving tiny piecing. ebook would be a wonderful blessing.

  24. I love the idea of scrappy quilts but I haven’t actually made one…yet!!! I have been collecting patterns though! I love the block you made from the book. What a great idea!!

  25. Hello! My name is Mary and I am a scrap-aholic! I love the use of many different fabrics AND background fabrics that give a quilt the ultimate scrappy look.
The most satisfying for me is taking other peoples “trash” and or unwanted leftovers. Yes, I have been known to riffle through their trash bins at retreat! Not out of desperation for fabric, but the challenge to turn them into something wonderful. I am Blessed to receive bags from my guild friends each month and am currently in the process of bringing one woman’s leftovers to life. Along with countless other projects in play at all times. I just LOVE it when the perfect pattern makes its way to me! My Ultimate favorite must be the HST. There are so many abandon, cut off triangles as we move through the quilt making process. I just LOVE them all!

  26. Iโ€™m sure anyone who has as much scrap fabric as I do would love this book! Iโ€™m an unlucky person so I never get my hopes up of winning anything! With that said I hope who ever wins this book will use it and enjoy it. I hope they make donation quilts to help those less fortunate.
    Good luck everyone
Pat thanks you forthe opportunity and thank you for always being so giving

  27. I love controls scrappy. Meaning,to me, I go through my scraps and pick all browns, all reds, etc. Right now I making a scrappy quilt for my bed. Mostly blues with some browns greens, representing plants and yellows, representing the sun.
    All from my scraps.
    Love your videos. Thank you
    Happy Anniversary
    P. S, We celebrate our 50th this October.

  28. Just beginning to explore scrappy quilting. I favor the more controlled scrappy look. It is so fun to play with various color and shape combinations.

  29. I like to make scrappy quilts with Flying Geese and then use the cutoffs to make HST’s. Then I use the HST’s to make Shoofly or Monkey Wrench blocks. My first quilt was a Monkey Wrench pattern from Simplicity and I still like those little blocks. This book would be so much fun – I already have a lot of crumb blocks and I could incorporate my crumb blocks into the windmill pattern Pat is doing.

  30. I love scrappy quilts. Tend to make more controlled scrappy or with a background that gives your eyes a rest

  31. I like to sew scrappy strip blocks. This book looks very interesting, I would love to win it!

  32. I love to make String & Crumb blocks. I find them SO relaxing! You don’t have to worry about an exact 1/4″ seam, if colors go together, there are just no rules. You can just sew, and the bonus, you can put your scraps to good use.

  33. I like to make all varieties of scrappy quilts, structured – scrappy pieces – and just being creative by making, cutting and putting together in fun way! I enjoy making my own scrap fabric with no rhyme or reason and using for pieced blocks.
