Would you like to win a copy of this amazing book?

Leave me a comment by 6pm easter time on July 2, 2024 telling me:

** What type of scrappy quilts do you like?

Winner is Vivian who said "I like "kitchen sink" scrap quilts — the ones that use scraps of any kind or color. String and crumb quilts are fun too as you don't even need the scraps to be precisely cut to use them in the blocks! This looks like a fun book."

  1. Currently getting all my quilting friends to give me 1 and a half scrappy squares. I am gradually sewing them together. It is a fun project. I’ll need 7,000 to 10,000 squares before I’m done!

  2. I love all kinds of scrappy quilts. I used bonus HSTs from quilts and made a pinwheel baby quilt. I also made “fabric” by sewing scraps together and cutting squares from them. Thank you Pat and Shannon & Jason for sharing the Scrappy Wonky book.

  3. I really like making scrap quilts for myself. Having a small piece of all the quilts I’ve made and given away makes me happy. Looking at the quilts sparks a memory of the quilt and its recepient

  4. I love scrappy quilts of all kinds! I make wonky crumb blocks and turn them into donation quilts for high school kids. My scrap basket is always overflowing – I’m always on the lookout for good scrappy quilt patterns 🙂

  6. I enjoy controlled scrappy quilts with many different fabrics but only a few colors. The book looks so inspirational!

  7. I love all scrap quilts with bright, happy fabrics! It doesn’t have to be controlled scrappy, but it does have to be happy! 🙂 I was truly amazed with the block you created! You continue to inspire me!!!

Scrappy Wonky book has inspired me to make more scrappy fun projects. The bag first then the rose.

  10. I would like a copy of the book. I have made scrappy quilts with adding machine tape. Working on one from the mercantile cutoffs 1/2 HST and the circles that we cut away as well. My Aunt has given me an entire box of triangles to make into a scrappy quilt. I am using A Quilting Life’s free pattern to make scrappy blocks.

  11. Although I have never made a scrappy quilt as I don’t have a huge stash, I adore other ones that others have made.

My other go to scrap quilt is 2.5” scraps – I sew together 2.5” scraps making 4 patches then 16 patches then putting those together to make a quilt. – they make beautiful scrap quilts. It’s also a quilt you can look at and see all the quilts you’ve made.

  36. Hi Pat, I’m planning a scrappy quilt using all the fabrics from quilts I made during the Covid pandemic. I figure that if the fabrics don’t really go together that will be a good representation of the craziness during that time. I think this block you demonstrated will be perfect for the project.

  37. I’ve been working my way thru my scraps making novelty blocks. Most recent was an ice cream cone wall hanging, and now working on pineapples (thanks for the video and the PDF!). I also tick little bits of scrappy solid colors into my Jellyroll quilts. Makes the quilt a bit bigger, and adds pops of color!
