Would you like to win a copy of this amazing book?

Leave me a comment by 6pm easter time on July 2, 2024 telling me:

** What type of scrappy quilts do you like?

Winner is Vivian who said "I like "kitchen sink" scrap quilts — the ones that use scraps of any kind or color. String and crumb quilts are fun too as you don't even need the scraps to be precisely cut to use them in the blocks! This looks like a fun book."

  1. My favorite scrappy type quilts are from strips, log cabin and stars! Very interested in this book. Thank you for sharing!

  2. I love most every type of scrap quilt! I usually make at least one per year. I am so inundated with scraps right now that 2025 will be my year of the scrap quilt. My goal is to make one scrap quilt top a month. Hopefully that will put a dent in my scraps! Thank you, Pat and C&T for this giveaway.

  3. The first quilts I made as a teenager were from clothing scraps because I could not afford fabric. I love scrappy quilts of all kinds. I have made 2 color scrap quilts, quilts with scraps of all colors and prints, crazy quilts, crumb quilts and scrappy quilts from the remains of a kit. To me they are all beautiful.

  4. I have a lot of scraps left over from a patriotic quilt. I plan on sewing these onto adding machine tape, and maybe use them for a Letters to Santa style summer quilt…list of summer fun words.

  5. I am all into scrappy, most times the scrappier the better! Love Jason and Shannon’s methods and can’t wait to see the new book – some of the patterns you showed from it are amazing! Can’t wait to do a sampler from all the patterns in the book like they did!

  6. I love to make scrappy quilts and using those leftover pieces of fabric. It’s fun to remember a particular fabric from another quilt and what was happening in my life when I made that quilt. Now I know I can save even those tiny 3/4″ scraps because it can be the center of a rose or work it’s way into a scrappy block.

  7. I love scrappy quilts that help use up my stash!
Random size pieces but not too small. (Not less than 2″)
I like to keep bright colors together, but have different hues.

  8. I love sewing with scrappy strips. And I have so many scraps. I just hate to toss them. I would love this book to get more ideas on how to use them.

  9. I love scrappy quilts. Both my daughters give me all of their leftover scraps from quilts and projects they make. And I make string blocks or blocks including all shapes and sizes and it’s so freeing and enjoyable.
Thank you Pat for everything you do. I love your little laugh. Joyful. ❤️ and I enjoy your quilt alongs as well. My sisters love them for their birthdays 😊❤️

  10. I like scrappy quilts that are a bit controlled in colour range, so perhaps blue green yellow scraps paired with “neutral”. Or perhaps “clear colours” paired with white. By looking at the photos in this blog hop, it looks like the authors have provided tons of options to do just what one chooses.

  11. I love scrappy quilts. It gives me a chance to use up all those pieces of fabric that I save during the year. I especially like string quilts. They are fun to cut up strips of all sizes and then piece them together randomly. Using a template to cut them into a desired square size and they are beautiful when put together.

  12. I like old fashion scrappy quilts with lots of an embroidery and embellishments added to the scraps with all kinds of little bits and pieces and colors

  13. I have never made a quilt that was not scrappy. It could be that I’m using a multitude of fabrics when I make the same block over and over for a quilt top, or it could be that I’m actually using scraps to make another block. I would get too bored if I had to make the same block in the same fabrics many times.

  14. I love all quilts done scrappy. I’m doing a Trip Around the World quilt, totally scrappy, and from the scraps from that I’m making another scrappy quilt. Scrappy means happy!

  15. Love scrappy quilts. My last one was a twin made from points cut off from my Oh My Stars King size.

  16. I love scrappy quilts of all kind!! Since I make quilts to donate to kids organizations, my go-to is a theme, like different Superhero fabrics tied together with sashing.

  17. I love 2.5” squares ans half square tiangles. Would love to improve my skills as far as scrappy goes!

  18. Scrappy Wonky book is great! One year our Wednesday night Quilters made scrap blocks of Christmas fabrics we exchanged with eachother, each chose a background and cut Wonky Blocks. Great fun seeing all the block variations and bonus of using up scraps! I would love to win this book! Thanks Pat and C&T!
    Blessings, Dawn, Central Valley, California

  19. I have made many scrappy quilts, have 3 in progress right now. Love using up fabric that I already have so I don’t need to purchase more. Enjoy Bonnie Hunters patterns

  20. I have a ton of scraps from all the charity quilts for kids I put together. But I prefer controlled scrappy with a bit of coordination in color or fabric style. This book looks like so much fun!

  21. In addition to quilting, my passion is making adult collectible cloth dolls. I end up with tons of small scraps. I love to use up those scraps (can’t possibly throw scraps away!) to make scrappy quilts and wall hangings. The perfectionist in me likes more controlled scrappy quilting where I can control the colors and pattern.

  22. I really like sewing leftover project strips and pieces into a reasonable 10” block size scrappy square right after the project is done. I loved your idea of having a second project running as sewing the initial project. Scraps are so versatile. This book looks really fun.

  23. I have made several scrapy quilts for charity and one for me. Am now working on “new to me:” pieced blocks to reduce my scrap bin. These are being used to make pillow covers. I also use the scrap bin for small projects that are gifts or trying something new. Ex. Hemmingway Pouches. So, no particular favorite, I love them all.

  24. I love to make scrap quilts. I’m pretty much a very thing goes scrap quilter. Currently working on a half log cabin with strings and a control center.

  25. I like to do scrappy quilts. I’ve done several from leftovers in my stash and love the way the look. I used regular blocks, not string or log cabin. They come out nicely. This would be fun book to have.

  26. I like controlled scrappy quilts. I make smaller projects for everything scrappy blocks.
    Thanks for a chance!

  27. I love quilts made from scraps from which clothing was made. My Grandmother made scappy quilts like these when her scap basket got full. It was so fun finding blocks from clothing that she had made us. Then when I began sewing my own clothing I gave her my scraps of fabric. Treasured memories

  28. Love scrappy quilts. Currently working on quilts for my kids. Fabrics from shirts of their dad who passed this year. I hope they turn out and I get them finished before Christmas. I am new to quilting so have been cutting squares to make 9 patch blocks for these. It looked less intimidating. Would love to have patterns to go by so this book looks fun.

  29. I like to make 4 in 4 patch scrappy quilts. I have so many projects that end up with leftover 2.5 and 2 inch squares.

  30. I tend to prefer strip quilts, as those are pretty quick & easy. But I’d like to try making blocks with smaller, random size scraps.

  31. Wonky book looks fantastic.
I have just started strong scrappy blocks and love it because NO RULES

  32. Love, love, that rose block in that Book! I have wanted to make that forever. I love a scrappy quilt that used colors an shades but different prints to make a color-wash effect.
I recently finished a color-wash quilt that has 600+ 3 inch blocks. Looks like a great book. I hope I win it! That Don Quixote block you made with that orphan block is brilliant! Great Idea I’m going to use that!

  33. I prefer controlled scrappy since scrappy is so hard on my decision making… even though it’s suppose to be more freeing.
