    My favorite foods were the chocolates and Wiener Schnitzel. Oh, I signed up for Substack, too!

  8. I’ve never been to Germany, but grew up with the maiden name of Ludwig, so I’ve eaten plenty of German food. Strangely enough, my favorite cookie is the Lebkuchen my mother in law always made for Christmas. Nobody on my side of the family made them. I would love to ek. The tins, to bring back the taste my mother in law always gave me for the Holidays. Thank you Pat, you seems more copper this fall. I hope things are getting a little better.

  11. I was born on an army base in Germany but 3 months ins when came back to US. Hubby and I went to Germany for our 25 th anniversary in 2010! Great trip. My mom went too!

  15. I have been in Germany several times in my life. I do love German pastries. I can’t think of just one I love the best. I found the cookies last year for my daughter and she loved them.

  27. I love Lebkuchen! We went to Christmas markets all over Germany a few years ago and fell in love – headed back there next Christmas! Loved the people, markets AnS food! Love the blue Christmas theme as well live at the beach and are more blue/green!
