** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. We love brownies from a boxed mix and I always use the fudgy variation on the box. If I have to make them from scratch I use the Hershey’s one bowl recipe. But weirdly, the dessert most requested by hubby is chocolate chip cookie dough, haha.

  2. I like brownies, but I prefer the center. That is one of the few Chocolate desserts I like. The hubby on the other hand will eat anything Chocolate. I like them a little underdone so they are more fudgie. I just bought my daughter for Christmas the Pampered Chef brownie edge pan because everyone in her family loves the edge pieces.

  3. Love brownies! I am that horrible person that will cut out the center. Don’t even give the kids an option for it. They like the edges so it works perfectly.

  4. Oooh…I love SO MUCH about brownies! I like them gooey, crispy, fudgy, frosted, unfrosted, with nuts, without nuts. They don’t even have to be chocolate, although without chocolate they are blondies!

  5. We love brownies in this house!!! I use a brownie mix in a box. If I have nuts I will add. I love to eat brownies with vanilla ice cream or cool whip!!!! Yum!!!

  6. Hi Pat! I do love brownies. I’ve seen that pan but never bought it…I will give it a go. Everyone in my family likes the edges, too! Thanks for all you do. I especially like watching your thought and design process.

  7. I do love brownies. I think I like pecans over walnuts, if available. I think I am going to do Sweet Dreams because I have a set of fabrics that I have been wanting to use. I enjoy your show daily.

  8. Brownies are magical. They have the ability to make anyone happy. We don’t add nuts to ours(my preference) but I will add extra chocolate chips or white chips. There are also blondie brownies and brownies with chocolate chip cookies and reeces cups. So many varieties. Love your pan. Doesn’t matter if it’s a middle or end piece they are all delicious.

  9. We love brownies around here. I also use that brand of brownie mix. But my family seem to always go for the middle. Lol

  10. My family loves brownies. I add walnuts to half the pan and extra chocolate chips to the other half. I have a picky family when it comes to brownies.

  11. Love brownies with nuts. Unfortunately my husband doesn’t like nuts in any baked goods. I have your brownie pan but have not used it. Need to get it out and give it a try.

  12. I love brownies, any kind of brownies, I Like the soft one the chewy ones I love brownies. Of course I have type 2 diabetes, so I have to watch how much sugar I eat. Love watching your videos Pat.

  13. Yes to brownies!! I like mine with a cake consistency and without nuts. I’ve made them both with box mix and from scratch. I find that the box mix is easier and tastes just as good as from scratch.

  14. My husband and I love brownies with nuts and heavy chocolate. The problem is , we don’t need the calories as we are in our seventies. We will splurge every once in a while. I never miss your videos and working on your present quilt from you book. I am enjoying it.

  15. We have been married going on 4 years…met back in 71 at church camp! Life got in the way but we are together today! We both love chocolate..dark chocolate is the best! We both love brownies with walnuts and he grabs for an outer, which leaves me all the innies! Win win!!
I hope I win that goodie bag!!!!!

  16. Love brownies with walnuts. I’m going to try the Ghiradelli brand. It must be good. Their candies are.

  17. Love orange, those fabric choices and fabulous selection in the zip bag!
Brownies: I like the fudgy type best but cake are also acceptable. 😛 Being from Texas I like pecans. Walnuts are used when family comes, their preference.

  18. Pat, you are the best!! And Chocolate is the best food ever! My family loves chewy chocolate brownies. I like walnuts in them but my family can’t eat them so when my kids were home and my husband was alive I would make a batch for them and a batch for me with walnuts! I recently tried the Ghirardelli Triple Chocolate Brownies and they are really good. For other boxed brownies, Autumn at itsalwaysautumn.com has a Fudgy Brownies from a Box Mix recipe that is really, really good too.

  19. Can’t imagine anyone not liking brownies. My 4 sons always couldn’t wait till they came out of the oven. I made them from scratch and Nielsen that everyone is an adult I yes walnyts except for grandsons yum. .

  20. I love brownies! I started to guess that as the first Sweet Dreams, but I put chocolate covered cherries instead. I make brownies three different ways. I always start with the Betty Crocker Fudge brownie mix. Sometimes I make it according to the box. Sometimes I make it like the box and then top it with homemade chocolate frosting. Sometimes I will add flax seed, crushed pecans or walnuts, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and crushed dark chocolate candy. Sometimes I even throw in a few frozen blueberries. Those are my “healthy” brownies. Lol! I usually only make those for myself for breakfast because I’m not sure how other folks would like them. One of my nieces always requests my brownies with homemade frosting for every occasion where I need to bring food. (Come to think of it, she has eaten my “healthy brownies” before, and she likes those too.)

  21. What’s not to love about brownies? Your version sounds great! I’d love to get this goodie gift-I’m thinking about making the sweater quilt-it is adorable! Thanks for your daily inspiration, Pat!!💕

  22. I have a super simple brownie recipe that my family loves. I am the total weirdo in the world…I don’t like chocolate!!!! Oh well

  23. I love brownies! I make them in a large muffin crown pan and top them with a few (well more than a few) mini M&M’s before baking. Recipe: just a box mix but with chocolate chunks.

  24. Love brownies with all the extras, but have to be very careful when I eat one because they can give me migraine headaches! Oh dear! Love new block!

  25. Brownie’s are our favorite! Add Vanilla Ice cream!! This Christmas Eve I popped a double batch
(extra choc chips!) into the oven in large iron skillet so they were done by the time we finished opening presents!!
We just dug in and enjoyed them!
Thanks, Pat (& crew !!) for all you do to keep us going!! Love your sew alongs and all your advise!💋💋

  26. A favorite in our house is Buckeye Brownies. Follow directions on Brownie Mix, bake (no nuts). Next layer is made of peanut butter, butter, vanilla, milk, vanilla and powdered sugar. Cream together well. The top layer is melted chocolate chips. Cool. You have to try them!

  27. I have made homemade brownies, Hersheys recipe is exceptional, but the ones that get the most compliments are the ones made from Trade Joe’s boxed mix. So many have asked me for my recipe. I just give them a box from TJ’s! They contain chocolate chips and turnout perfectly every time!

  28. I LOVE LOVE LOVE BROWNIES.. I watched alton brown make them. I followed his recipe added dark chocolate chips and hazelnuts. They were the best. I like the gooey middle and the crispy edge. Love your videos. 🙂

  29. I love my Brownies to be soft, moist, and chocolately, annnddddd with some caramel in them!!! Soooo deliciouus.

  30. Mmm, brownies! My former coworkers were shocked to learn you can bake brownies from scratch! LOL!
My favorite recipe is Bakers(R) One Bowl Brownies. I love to add walnuts, toasted for extra flavor. Chocolate chips deepen the flavor of the brownies…PMS remedy. Raisins add to the chewiness! I don’t think the flavor of the raisins is noticeable.

  31. I love brownies and have been making them all my life. My favorite kind are with nuts, (any kind). I’m looking forward to making yours.

  32. We love brownies in our house. We don’t use nuts because of food allergies and they have to be gluten free. Instead of chocolate chips we like to add a little coffee and cocoa nibs.

  33. Oh, a brownie warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds, then topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream sounds like heaven.

  34. Our family loves brownies. My husband always made brownies with the kids on Sunday. He makes his from scratch. If I make brownies I usually use a Ghirardelli mix. Our family is split between edges and center pieces. ( I love the edges.)
Just found you before Christmas. Enjoy your videos… Thank you. Happy New Year.

  35. My family love love loves brownies and there was always a fight for the corner brownies. A while back I found a pan that has 12 individual brownie squares so now everyone gets a brownie with four edges. Box brownies are what I use and always always always add an entire bag of Ghirardelli dark chocolate chocolate chips. Yummm!!!! Thanks for the video, love the block and the colors.

  36. Brownies are my favorite with pecans, now I am looking for Keto Brownies to be part of my low carb menu.

  37. Hi Pat! I’m sew excited to start this new block Wednesday!
I love fudgey cheery brownies. The pan I use is the one that makes a bunch of individual ones so you get four edges crispy.

  38. I make brownies for my husband. He loves brownies! That is an unusual brownies pan, what is its specialties?
Thanks for all your videos, patterns and sewing tips, you are great!
