**Woodland Wonderland Week #10 **

We have this week and next to sew up all the sashing units. This week do the baby shoofly blocks and the pine trees.

NOTE – In the pattern on page 40 there are directions on how to trim just a bit off some of the spaces to reduce the length of the strip. The designer explains it very well. Mathmatically, like she says, you need to remove 3/4"of an inch TOTAL.

  • One way to do that is to trim down 6 of the block by 1/8", which is 3/4" inches trimmed
  • Then 2 blocks are not trimmed.

  1. I have too many UFOs. I need to reorganize and clear out all the things I won’t finish. I can be intimidating.

  2. I have only two UFO’s but thats because I try not to start a new project until the one I’m working on is completed. I started one for my sister two years ago. I made three baby quilts during that time which were not from pattens. I have containers filled with patterns and fabric for many projects. Maybe I should just start them and alternate between different ones to keep the joy flowing. I also am still working on my Summer Soiree, I decided to add to it so I can put it on my bed. Thank you Pat for inspiring all of us to keep on quilting.

  3. So cool to see that I’m not the only one with lots of UFOs. I’m trying to work my UFOs in with some new projects. Maybe a dedicated day just to a UFO.
    God bless,đź’•

  4. Hi Pat ! I loved your post about reorganizing and making a list of UFO’s . I had started cleaning out my sewing room on Sunday the 2nd, and am taking this week to clean out the closet in my sewing room , get rid of things no longer needed and reorganizing my sewing room . My goal is to finish by Sunday . On Monday my goal is to make a list of UFO’s and start to work on them . So, like another person wrote , I have to sit out the sew alongs for now in order to finish projects, however, I will continue to watch your videos and tune into your blog .

  5. I am so excited about the secret lives of color. I love your giveaways. So generous!❤️🪡🧵🧶✂️

  6. At the beginning of January 2022, another international quilter doing a quilt along I signed up for, directed us to pull out all UFO’s. I pulled out all UFO’s – the entire floor is full of UFO’s, and I didn’t stop there, I pulled out all the kits I had purchased and I still didn’t stop, I pulled out all the “bagged quilts/projects to be.” No one, said what to do, how to organize, … about this total mess. I asked – the only comment was to use ziploc bags. Wow what help that was. I became frustrated, overwhelmed, burned out, so I just walk by and keep walking every day. I didn’t count the totals. I haven’t sewed a stitch in 2022. What a mess. My husband says I am a fire hazard.

  7. Hey Pat, I have just recently started watching your videos. I find them very informative and instructional and also very entertaining. You are a natural!
Thanks for all the sew alongs, patterns and links that you provide for your projects. You are a great ambassador for the quilting world.

  8. I’m not starting any of the new Sew Alongs, as I am really committing to just get my UFO’s and the projects I committed to already. Its so hard to pass up all of your great designs, but I am keeping a file of my favs to do later.
I created a list, inspired by a lot of the things on your tracking sheet. It list:
    Date Finished/Project/Fabric/Pattern/Pieced/Backing/Quilted/Binding
I check off each step completed, so I know where I am on each project, abd what I need to find to go with it. Right now I have 56 items between UFOs, WIP, and planned project that I have the fabric, pattern and ready to start. Your completion of 70+ many of which you designed as well, helps to motivate me that it can be done!
    Thanks for all you do

  9. I so love seeing these stars! I am not doing this see along but am doing the
Secret Lives of Color! And finishing some UFOs!!
