** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. my favorite brownies are the ones with chocolate chips and walnuts added. I also like them frosted but it has to be the homemade frosting . I like fudge like brownies. πŸ™‚
Your pan looks amazing and I will need to get it soon. I listen to your videos each morning and it makes my “get ready for work routine” extra special.
Thank you for all you share!!

  2. I always asked my Mom to make Brownies for my birthday and of course the birthday girl got the corner piece!! Miss my Mom so much!
I love the brownie pan, very unique!! Thanks for being so generous with your skills, time and giveaways!! You Rock!!

  3. I like regular brownies – but I LOVE blondies! No chocolate chips!! They have always been my favorite!!

  4. My Mother had a special brownie pan also! Her β€œspecial” recipe was to use an inexpensive brownie mix and add an extra egg. They were always frosted using the recipe from the Hershey’s cocoa can. They were legendary to her 8 children and 15 grandchildren. There was always a pan of brownies waiting for us when we traveled to her house! Our sister was the lucky recipient of the famous brownie pan after she passed away in 2017. It really goes without saying that brownies have a special place in our hearts!

  5. OH MY STARs🀯…Where has that brownie edge pan been my whole life???? I ONLY like the edges so Yes I had to order it….Thanks Pat! Now you are not just a quilty enabler you’re a BROWNIE LOVER ENABLER πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

  6. I love brownies. I like to make the chewy receipe. I also liked to put in different flavors of extract to add a little punch of flavor and of course you have to have walnuts or pecans.

  7. My family likes brownies also. I just use the boxed variety. I always add some chocolate chips to the batter before baking. I love the crispy edges, but my husband likes the softer middle pieces. I have never tried the version that is more cake like, but I will give it a try next time.

  8. I love brownies but try not make them too often so that they remain a treat. I like nuts, but prefer brownies without. I used to think to tru ly be a baker, you had to start from scratch, but mixes are so good, why go to all that trouble. Besides, “sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree?”

  9. Whenever I go to visit my grandchildren they expect a pan of brownies now. I started bringing them when they were toddlers, they are teenagers now. I also use the Giradelli mixes, but my secret ingredient is a couple of teaspoons of instant expresso powder. Really enhances the chocolate flavor

  10. My brownies became one of our good luck items for our High School football games. We would go out to eat before the games and during the drive to the stadium, everyone got their own zip bag of their favorite brownie. I was one of the few that like the middle ones. No edges for me!

  11. Won my husband over with my brownies 50 years ago. He couldn’t resist them or me . Still cook 3 meals a day for him,

  12. I love brownies. My mom had a recipe that I always used, then we lost it. I found a kids cookbook that had THE reciepe when we were on our honeymoon. I have since given the cookbook to my 12 year old granddaughter.

  13. I love most any brownies and I especially love the ones with nuts, and/ or chips or caramel. Yummy! Unfortunately my husband is not a big fan, so I rarely make them since I’ll be the one eating most them lol! I love the theme of this quilt too! 😴 πŸŒ™πŸŽ΅πŸŽΆ

  14. Hi everyone. This is my first sew along and am so excited.. I love the Moonstone fabrics. Another love of mine is brownies, especially with walnuts and chocolate chips. Also, the darker the chocolate the better! Thanks the opportunity to win the goodie bag.

  15. Love, love. Love brownies!!! The moist chocolate texture and flavor. Sometimes I add nuts and sometimes not. I’m intrigued by that pan you shared this morning!!!

  16. I love brownies, not very cakes with thick icing and no nuts. I prefer the center to the edge. This summer at the cottage my cousin allowed us to use her WiFi if we paid her in brownies.

  17. I love brownies! When I was a kid, my dad got a recipe for buttermilk brownies that had a thick fudgy frosting on them. They were so chocolatey and delicious. I was diagnosed with a gluten allergy in 2007 so I don’t get to enjoy those brownies of my youth any more, but I love Bob’s Red Mill brownie mix and use it a lot. Thanks for the pattern!

  18. My family also loves brownies. I have made many, many brownie recipes over the years, some well-received, some not so much.
My favorite brownie recipe is the Betty Crocker milk chocolate brownie mix in an 8″ X 8″ pan! I love the center brownies that don’t have the edges. LOL!
I am excited to try the Ghirardelli mix with chocolate chips. Yum! I’m on my way to the supermarket!

  19. Pat, I love brownies. I like to buy the mix too and triple fudge is the kind I usually purchase. More chocolate is always better. Thanks for this first block. I can’t wait to try it.

  20. I love brownies and the Gheribaldi (sp) are the best. I use the double chocolate but also sometimes add chocolate chips and pecans. YUM Thank you for the daily inspiration!

  21. I love dessert and I love brownies. My favorite way to eat brownies is with ice cream. Ice cream with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. Mmmmmm. My absolute favorite. Thanks for starting off with my favorite dessert. I like it warm with lots of ice cream.

  22. I love brownies. Growing up we would sprinkle marshmallows on top right out of the oven and then frost them when cool. YUM!

  23. When I make brownies, I always chuckle because my dad used to say they were made from (Girl Scout brownies). He would wink and then make super yummy faces. My sisters and I would howl.

  24. I love brownies. I usually make box brownies which are great but, I sometimes will use an old fashioned recipe. This recipe has a stick of butter in the main brownie part and a stick of butter in the icing… no wonder they taste so good😊!!

  25. Brownies are β€œ SCRUMPDILICIOUS”
Chocolatey smooth ,moist in the centre with crispy ,yummy edges. Love them. First choice for me off a goodies trbay.
    Yummy

  26. My husband is the brownie lover in our family but he shares his batch with other members of the family. We definitely don’t say no to one of his brownies. I use Ghirardelli mix also and add 1-2 Tablespoons of espresso powder to the mix. You don’t taste the coffee but the chocolate seems more intense. BTW – love the idea of the cake pan where everyone get an edge. Thanks for sharing.

  27. Brownies are yum!! Dark chocolate chips and walnuts are a must. I love the middle sections and I feel quilty giving my hubby the edges. The goodie bag would save me from my hardest problemβ€” making a final decision on my fabric choices. This is still a decision for my Sweetdreams quilt.

  28. Brownies are one of the few chocolates I enjoy. I make them from scratch and always double the cocoa, use melted butter not oil and sometimes blobs of cream cheese( mixed with egg, sugar & vanilla) so it’s like cheesecake blobs πŸ™‚

  29. I love to make cake-like brownies from a brownie mix with my granddaughters. I also have a special pan to make brownies in–it looks like an old fashioned ice-cube tray.

  30. I’m not a coffee drinker but one of my co-workers gave me a Starbucks gift card. OMG. Have you ever had their Brownies warmed up! The best!!!! I believe they must have caffeine in them because I was addicted!

  31. My late husband Tim loved brownies! I have not had brownies in a long time. I think I like them when they are chewy. And I like the middles. Sweet dreams is a truly sweet block.

  32. My favorite brownie recipe is a boxed brownie with chopped up Milky Way candy bars. It turns out perfect every time and is delicious with a hint of Carmel. Hope you enjoy!

  33. I love the ooey, gooey richness and goodness of brownies. But in all honesty I’m not that good at making them. So I just buy them which just isn’t the same as homemade. πŸ˜₯ Love your videos, patterns, and definitely the sew-alongs!

  34. Brownies are the absolute best with salted caramel and chocolate chunks in them! Love the edges but sometimes that gooey center is amazing. Especially with a big glass of milk! πŸ€€πŸ‘

  35. I make mine extra fudgy by adding mini chocolate chips to the batter and when I butter the bottom of the pan I put cocoa powder on it… Makes for yummy, gooey brownies!!

  36. I love to eat brownies, especially the gooey ones, with or without chocolate frosting. Yum, I can taste them now.
