** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. Brownies are my favorite dessert as well! I love dark chocolate brownies with chocolate chunks or caramel swirled into the top of the batter. I love the brownie pan you showed us and think I need to have that because I am not a fan of middle pieces. This pan sounds perfect! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Mmmm brownies! I like to add coffee to the mix any time I’m making brownies or chocolate cake, and I like my brownies more brownie-like, as opposed to cake-like. But that doesn’t mean I’ll turn down a cake-like brownie. I mean, I’ve never met a chocolate that I didn’t love. And I love love love the edge! Brownies are, perhaps, the most perfect food known to man. When I’ve got brownies, I always have to inform my doggo that dogs don’t like chocolate. He doesn’t believe me, but I stick to my story.

  3. I love brownies, especially the gooey ones, with or without frosting. What a marvelous pan. I have never seen one like that. Thank you.

  4. I love brownies, especially the gooey ones, with or without frosting. What a marvelous pan. I have never seen one like that. Thank you.

  5. I love brownies, especially the gooey ones, with or without frosting. What a marvelous pan. I have never seen one like that. Thank you.

  6. I love brownies too! I use a boxed mix and add chocolate chips and chocolate syrup (to make them extra fudgy), but no nuts. Edge pieces are my family’s favorite, but I’ve never used a special edge pan.

  7. I love brownies. My favorite recipe is called Texas Brownies. Rich and yummie. Not crazy about nuts in mine. Love this sew along.

  8. I’ve always baked brownies for my family. However, my grandson was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, which is an intestinal condition where he cannot tolerate flour and other grains. Being that he has such a sweet tooth, I have found that brownies is the answer. GF brownies with its gooey, chocolate deliciousness is perfect! He loves them and most importantly we have become a one dessert family! Thank you for this first block and giving Kudos to brownies (GF or not). 😆

  9. I love Brownies but I am a center girl! I have the Moonstone fabric but not yet ready to cut it up, I need to pet it a bit longer. Look forward to your videos daily. Thank you for all that you share. There is always something that I can learn.

  10. I LOVE the edges of brownies! I may have to make some today, along with listening to “Sweet Dreams” LOL!

  11. Bonnie,
I love brownies! The best brownies, it sounds like, I could find at your house. That is how I like them also with hunks of nuts and pockets of chips with a little cinnamon added. Please have one (or more) for me as Chocolate is on my DO NOT EAT list. Booo Hooo. Love the Brownie Star block as it will last forever. I’ve switched over to Ginger Cookies, still good but not the same so don’t feel too sorry for me.

  12. I love chocolatey brownies so much! I tried a recipe called “Brookies” which is a cross between a blonde brownie and a chocolate chip cookie. So good! I think they would cook up beautifully in the pan you showed today. Gonna have to try that real soon (or whenever my New Year’s resolution comes crashing down 😂). Thanks so all you do Pat!!

  13. I use the Duncan Hines box mix and choose the chewy version. We always put black walnuts in our mix as we have walnut trees and crack them for ourselves. Cracking those walnuts is a labor of love..my husband uses his vice to crack them in his woodworking shop. Love the children’s fabrics in the give a way as I use that kind of fabric for my children’s donation quilts. Thank you Pat for all you do!

  14. Brownies are my definite go to when I offer to bring a dessert. But my center is always under done and the edges get over done! So I am so happy to learn about your pan! It’s genius! And I love walnuts in my brownies too! Love today’s block and the Sweet Dreams theme! Happy New Year!

  15. like your “when the eagle flies”comment. Do you have a connection to American Airlines? Just curious.

  16. Ghiradelli are my favorite brownies. I don’t like nuts in my brownies. Love the crispy edges to the point that when I take them somewhere, I cut off all of the edges and keep them and share the rest. 🙂

  17. Love brownies! Check out Kraft recipe for Princess Brownies, our family favorite.
Enjoy watching and learning from you.

  18. I love brownies but I only use the box mixes. However my granddaughter Natalie makes a great brownie from scratch. I am happy to let her make them from now on

  19. I am not a big fan of chocolate at times, but brownies are something else entirely! Soft and cake like in the middle. So addicting! Warm out of the oven and shared with the family!
Can’t wait to get started on this new Sweet Dreams block! My first time doing a weekly block with you Pat and I’m so excited! Love watching your videos every day! They make me smile!

  20. I love brownies with just a little chocolate frosting on them. Also cut them into small pieces and serve with ice cream

  21. on your team Miss Pat. Walnut chunks a must. plus our daily chats, learning so much with color choices from you. thanks a bunch. love ya

  22. I love cakes brownies with pecans!!!
Being a newbie quilter the giveaway would help me to practice what I learn. I’ve been intimidated about buying fabrics yet! Going in a store is overwhelming right now!

  23. Love me some brownies! I haven’t made any in a while but always use the Ghirardelli brand as well. I like brownies with chocolate chips 🙂 My children never liked nuts in baked things so chocolate chips..always!!
Thank you for your videos, I enjoy watching and learning from them!

  24. My family loves brownies also! But they like them a little gooy so I just under bake by about a minute. Pat I really appreciate your videos.

  25. I like to toast my walnuts before adding to brownie batter, adds a little roasty flavor to the already delicious brownies. I know people like the crusty edges but I have always liked the center pieces of any baked goodies! Thanks for the pattern, looks like it will be fun.

  26. I love brownies! I have a recipe that my former father in law got from a co-worker at Boeing. I loved that the co-worker shared his brownie and eventually the recipe. We add mini chocolate chips and nuts are optional depending on who’s going to be eating them. Some of the grands don’t like nuts.

  27. My husband and I are not chocolate lovers but occasionally I’ll make a batch, cut them and freeze. When I want a sweet I’ll defrost one in the microwave and put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the warm brownie. Yum!!
I use either Ghirardelli or Duncan Hines.
Both of us watch you every morning. Thank you for this generous give away. A nice way to cheer one of us up as we start a new year.

  28. I love brownies with chocolate chips and walnuts. At Halloween, I like to create a little pumpkin patch on top of them using pumpkin-shaped candy and green icing for the leaves.

  29. I like brownies mix. It was another pan came out so years that had divers Brookly Brownie copper on amazon too.

  30. Love brownies here . Half the family likes edges the other likes the middle so parts for all . I use a mix sometimes add chocolate chips or peanut butter cups on top the last few minutes of baking time . Made them slot for the church bingo games and lately grandsons school when they sale bake goods at lunch time . I already checked out the sweater pattern after I saw it as a pillow in your room , just love it . I knit also and making a sweater for my son with just the sleeves to go, so this would be perfect for me . Thanks so much for all you do . Joan

  31. Hi Pat. Thanks for sharing your brownie baking tips. My family likes walnuts A mix has been added to my grocery list. Brownies would have been great yesterday — snow day! Thanks for being your authenic self. You’re such an inspiration. I enjoyed the video on sorting fabric basket. The simple tip of placing all panels together is going to help me. I’m trying to get some order to my sewing space. Thanks for the little “nudge.”

  32. Brownies are a favorite. I haven’t had or made them in many years but the recipe I used needed a can of Hersheys chocolate syrup. Now I eat gluten free and not too much processed foods or sugar, so brownies are a good memory.

  33. I never met a brownie I didn’t like! I don’t think you can ruin a brownie, they are all delicious.I am partial to the edges however. I’ll start looking for that pan.

  34. We like fudgy brownies in our family, with extra chocolate chips. My go to mix is also Ghiradelli! Secret ingredient is espresso coffee granules(instant). It enhances the chocolate flavor. Sometime I add chopped dried cherries and walnuts. MMM

  35. Love brownies that are made without nuts that are soft with a little ganache that is not too sweet.
