** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. Mmm. Brownies all gooey and warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All manner of things become well with a bowl of that.

  2. Of course – we all love brownies! I always make batches with a bag (1) of Snickers chopped up mixed in, then run a swirl of Carmel thru top. Using the same fabric you suggested – beautiful.

  3. I love brownies but rarely make them. I am one of those odd people who avoid the edges too. My MIL used to add coffee crystals to the liquids to make them more mocha flavored Yum!
I could use some fun good luck for 2022! This Quilt along will be a challenge for me but I will give myself acceptance at working only when I feel up to it and forgiving any errors or bad corners.

  4. I also love brownies. I leave out the nuts and my family likes the. Gooey and soft in the middle. Thanks for your video !

  5. Yummy – I’m going to get some of the brand you use -love dark chocolate – I too have my special pan from Pampered chef – it does 12 individual brownies so you get lots of the edges !!

  6. I love brownies! If I’m making them I add walnuts as well. If I’m getting premade ones we I always get the ones with the cream cheese frosting.

  7. We love brownies at my house. My youngest loves to go in the kitchen and make them and he puts extras in them like chocolate chips or bits of candies like M and M’s.

  8. Brownies are not my favorite BUT… I wouldn’t turn down a homemade brownie if presented with one… lol. I’m looking forwarded to the Sweet Dreams journey :-). I bought some Jason Yenter Floragrphix V fabric for the job.

  9. We love brownies at our house too! I’m like you and love chunky walnuts. Your pan is interesting, however I like the middle gooey piece so everyone here is happy! 🙂

  10. We love brownies and I like to add both pecans and extra chocolate chips. I do prefer gluten free if possible and that brownie pan will be a great addition to my cooking pans

  11. What isn’t there to love about brownies? The crispy edges, the soft chewy center and of course it has to have walnuts!!! Yummy!!!

  12. Brownies are one of my favorite desserts–started making them as a kid–they are good plain or frosted or with ice cream or just any old way!!

  13. Brownies, hmmmmm my favorite. My family fights to get the middle. One time I was cooling the brownies and came back to find the entire middle gone! What the heck, now I laugh, then I was calling the kids! Who did this! No one? Hard to believe no one ate the middle of this pan of brownies! Do we have ghosts living here, they all said Yes!!!!

  14. Never met a brownie I didn’t like especially with a cup of coffee! Looking forward to Sweet Dreams sew-along! Thank you Pat!

  15. I love brownies. My husband likes to make them with walnuts. We’ve had several new neighbors move in so we’ve given them brownies as a welcome gift. Yum! Yum!

  16. I like Brownies for the ease of mixing a batch, the versatility in which I can change them up. They go great at any potluck, or party. yummy yum yum, my fave is with mints melted on top.;)

  17. I love brownies, however they must be gluten free, and of course they should have nuts and chocolate piece too.

  18. Brownies are a big hit at our house!! I always add some extra mini choco chips. And sometimes put toasted pecans on top. Love the Brownie Block!!

  19. I am with you on the brownie edges! Love them and if I turn my back on the pan my husband cuts them all off and inhales them! I am seriously considering that pan!

  20. I have a love/hate relationship with brownies! Love ALL varieties (chocolate,blondies,maple…huts,no nuts,chocolate chips,flavoured chips,coconut)but, I hate that I can’t have them all the time! LOL!

  21. I am not a big chocolate fan so brownies are only occasionally in my house. I DO make “Blondies” which are like brownies without chocolate. I know, zi am different than 95% of the world! LOL

  22. I love brownies. A mix is so handy. A square of brownie with a scoop of ice cream on top and drizzle with some butter sauce Yum

  23. I haven’t meet a brownie I don’t like. Nuts make them better but I will take them anyway I can get them.

  24. I love fudgey brownies as opposed to cake like brownies. My favorite so far are pecan pie brownies that my daughter cooked from her kids cooking box subscription called Raddish. They are amazing. Pecan pie topping on top of brownies is a killer combo.

  25. Blonde brownies are my fav over the regular. No walnuts in our house (ever!) but I would substitute chocolate chips (generously). 🙂 I’ve never seen an Edges pan! I am a new quilter and a new fan of your daily videos where I learn every day, usually about quilting, but sometimes about life…or brownies! Thank you for sharing your time, experience and wisdom. Keep well.

  26. I love Brownies. My secret ingredient is vanilla flavoring…. just 1 tsp added to the boxed mix. I also love to frost the brownies with canned frosting. It is quick and easy. I would put walnuts into my brownies but hubby prefers plain. So yummy!!

  27. I love brownies and anything chocolate. Unfortunately, as I’ve gotten older my body had become very picky about what I eat. I guess the chocolate amount in brownies is enough to make the level of caffeine too high for me, so sadly, I can no longer eat them or any chocolate cake. Have one for me, Pat.

  28. Love love love brownies. I was born and raised near what used to be the largest pecan orchard in the US, so I add pecans to my brownies. I have looked at the edge pan several times, I guess I may have to jump on the band wagon now! Thanks for all that you do for all of us. Happy Quilting, Pam

  29. Our family loves brownies also. When I was younger all I wanted was the inside gooey squares, but now I love the outside pieces more. My husband has always been a “corners” guy and my son loves them made into brookies. I bought a pan that had an insert to create all the sides (kind of like an old-time ice cube tray) but it doesn’t work well because the brownies stick to the sides and it doesn’t come out clean! I think I will look into that pan you have.

  30. I make brownies from the box but add chocolate chips for extra chocolate goodness. I make them for my husband as I am allergic to chocolate 😔

  31. My favorite is Swedish brownies with almond flavoring or white chocolate chip brownies. Agree that the larger chopped nuts are a game changer. Thanks for sharing your tips!

  32. I, too, love the Ghirardelli’s brownies, with chocolate icing! As a child, I always wanted to surprise my mother by cleaning my room or putting things away, and she would say, “Oh, it looks like little Brownies came and surprised me.” I actually resented the Brownies for getting all the credit! I wasn’t sure if they were good fairies or bad ones for stealing my thunder.

  33. Love brownies made with dark chocolate. Basically anything made with dark chocolate is good. Love the fabric choices for this block. Stay safe!
