I would really like the tank top—perfect for outdoor fun!
I love scrappy quilts made with my leftover 2 1/2” strips and squares.
I like scrappy quilts because I hate to throw away fabric. I like when a scrappy quilt follows a color scheme or is a mono color scheme. I like the wonkiness that scrappy can add to a quilt. I rarely make a quilt that each block is the exact same fabric. That is why I love the things Pat does. I would love to use this book.
I prefer controlled scrappy quilts. I tried Bonnie Hunter quilts, but found I prefer controlled and larger blocks.
Thanks for the contest!
My husband and I are planning a few trips this summer. Our end goal is to have visited each of the 50 states. We can cross off Arizona, Nevada and Utah from our trip 2 weeks ago.
What type of scrappy Quilt do I like to make well I like to make on my stars because it takes all these 5 inch Squares I have and I like to make the red white and blue version of oh my stars that you have written and it’s fantastic. I’ve made probably a half a dozen and I have several scrappy bins started to make some more for cancer patients and the VA Love, all my star scrappy Quilt.
I have never made a scrappy quilt but I have somehow (!) gathered lots of random fabric scraps, so I think it would be fun to try a scrappy quilt.
Yes, I have made a couple of scrap quilts. One was strips and the other crumb quilt. Fun and I like you don’t have to be precise on seams, just square up each block.
I like controlled scrappy quilts. I like the crumb quilt you made with the purple triangles from your Harmony wide back in the barn-raising arrangement. I’d love to win the book!
I love scrappy quilts. I have bags of scraps that would be fun to make into these quilts. Looks like a great book.
Hey, Pat.
This summer, two of my kids are moving towns and houses. There are 4 grand kids involved- my husband and I will be grand sitting… however I am bound and determined to sew, at least an hour a day for 5 days a week…so a busy summer ahead. Also about 100 of us are gathering for a family reunion at the end of July…
I could sure use a tank top and always can use 2 1/2 strips….
Thanks for all you do.
Love scrappy quilts but struggle with making them unless I have directions. I over think it. Love your videos.
My Summer Plans: unfortunately that will be shoulder surgery in 9 days, so not to much else planned except maybe shopping, lol. Have a great summer Pat! Love your videos ♥️
I love to make controlled scrappy quilts and quilts with stars.
This will help me improvise even more! Thank you Pat.
Scrappy blocks make my heart sing. It’s also what I use to decompress from stress, I love the mindlessness of not having to match seams and the memories the scraps bring. I have a stack of 6.5″ crumb & string blocks as well as enough 11″ & 5.5″ string blocks for 2 quilts. This book would really amp up my finishing ideas. Thanks for all you do Pat, you are truly an unsung hero!!
Most of my quilts these day are scrappy quilts. I was gifted two totes of material from my sister. I also cut up scraps from projects into squares and strips. When I do your QAL’s and any patterns I choose to do I try to used up material I have. You could say I only do scrap quilts however I’ve never tried the type of scrap quilting that is shown in that book. It might be quite inspiring.
I love scrappy quilts. They remind me of the quilts my mother used to make.
I love the scrappy quilts! I am working on string blocks!
I love using scraps in string blocks. this book would be a bonus.
Summer plans have already started! yesterday was at a small sheep farm where they have a small commercial wood mill and grow dye plants and dye yarn. Trips out of town are always the best. The sleeveless t-shirt Firecracker will be great to give to my grandson, who is a firecracker! Thank you.
I tried to do this before but I don’t think it posted so I am trying again. I like to use my scraps on a lot of my quilts’ I rarely buy more than a yard or two of any thing. I do have some orphan blocks that I am excited to try this block on. My husband and I celebrate our anniversary tomorrow on July 2nd part of which will be in the doctors office for my follow up after surgery for my wrist I broke June 14th. So I haven’t sewn for a couple weeks now.Typing this is good therapy for my fingers.
I love any scrappy quilt that I am working on but right now my favorite is the 2 1/2 inch checkerboard that Pat often makes. Mine is all colors with a beige batik alternating square.
My plans this summer is to get Halloween quilts made for my Grandchildren. Also to make pickles for the first time. Wish me luck!!!
Hi Pat,
I always keep my bits and pieces. I don’t know why. I’m not sure I’ll ever do anything with them. Maybe I just need inspiration. I really like what you are doing with the Don Quixote block. It looks fun.
I love all scrappy quilts! Feels vintage to me.
All kinds of scrappy quilts!!
I was just looking at your shirts the other day and was wondering why there were no tank tops lol
the tank top would be perfect for here in South Dakota. we have been very hot and I love wearing tank tops in the summer and spring. Getting your Jellyroll would be a great bonus.I would love to add them to my little collection I am starting to grow
I am finishing up a scrappy stars quilt. Love improv blocks too.
I really want to make a scrappy quilt but I am a controlled scrappy person winning this book could help me a lot. I differently need some pattern even if it is a scrappy quilt.
I’ve never made a quilt from my scraps but I like the look of a controlled color palette when I see scrappy quilts. Happy Anniversary!
I like crumb quilts!
I have been trimming and sorting scraps after each project in 2024. However, I don’t know what to do with them. Should I sew together by colors/ sizes of scraps, designs. No idea. I need a book like this to lead me through it.
I like the look of a crazy quilt with all the different embellishments.
I have a bin full of different size scraps that I have been saving for “someday” but have never committed to making a scrappy. This book looks very inspiring!
“When life gives you scraps- make a quilt!” . A happy one 🙂. I like to use jelly rolls when i make quilts. After a while I usually have have a lot of scraps that I then use to make new blocks, often using paper peacing.
Love making leader and ender scrappy quilts, especially two color checkerboards.
Those roses in the book look fabulous. I am still trying to get my head around doing scrappy, I keep trying to regiment it. I think this book would really help me to get better at scrappy than I am now.
A friend use to give me the left over scraps from her quilt and the challenge was for me to turn them into something I’ve made anything from mug rig, runner to whole quilts it table toppers
I admire those who can make scrappy quilts without much planning. But overall, I love vintage fabrics or reproduction fabric scrappy quilts. They are so happy looking.
I have made crumb blocks, collecting scraps fora potato chip quilt . I like using scraps for most of my quilts..
I’m so sorry – I typed in the wrong email address in my comment. Hopefully I’ll get it right this time.
I so love the scrappy look in quilts – it is also a way to use up small scraps that won’t fit other blocks. I really hat to throw away scraps, I use them all the time
I am making flying geese with my scraps right now, but I love most scrappy quilts
Scrappy quilts are classics! You can’t go wrong with a 4 patch of bright colors against a crisp white background.
I love the look of scrappy Irish Chain block quilts. I have one on my to do list for this winter.
I love to make crumb blocks and also string quilts.
I take all the scraps offered to me to increase my stash. Have made a few scappy blocks and enjoy the process of creating a useable square out of other people’s scraps. Would love the book to help me create treasures for all to enjoy. Thank you for sharing your ideas and knowledge with us.
I like scrappy string quilts in bright, primary colors with sashing between the blocks. I have also made a scrappy reds with low volumes ‘two color’ quilt that I am obsessed with and I plan on making another one in a different color.
I just finished a scrappy quilt that I believe was one of your designs, green bean? I used some Charley Harper bird fabric. Love how it came out!
I’ve done both a “grab and stitch” QAYG quilt, super fun to let go of and and all planning, as well as a scrappy version I saw elsewhere in YouTube, “what do do with ugly fabric. I think scrappy and wonky is my favorite!
I like a controlled scrappy with a solid or almost solid color fabric used as a sashing to pull the blocks together. It gives it a cohesive, more controlled look.
