** Charity Fundraiser with my Merch! **

Gregg and I are partnering with our wonderful friends, Kate & Pete Spain, to host a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen. They were on the ground feeding everyone when a disaster hits. My brother in Asheville, NC, experienced their help firsthand when they were helping his community. He was so impressed by their kindness. We want to support this fantastic group and all the hard work they do to help others.

  1. I made a double wedding ring quilt with scraps a few years ago. Since I’ve been quilting for many years I need to make more quilts and other items with scrap pieces.

  2. ONE of my favorite scrap quilts is a quarter log cabin with fussy cut centers and all fun colors. No beige for me!

  3. Most of my quilts are scrappy, probably the latest one I made was a Saguaro Cactus quilt. I do have a postage stamp top that I need to finish as well. Thanks Pat for sharing out the book, it sure does look interesting.

  4. I have a scrap quilt my grandmother made about 70 years ago. It includes scraps from the clothing I wore as a little girl. I love it!

  5. My favorite scrap quilt was a row of the month quilt I made at a friend’s quilt shop. That was 3 or 4 years ago, and by the looks of my scrap pile, it’s long overdue time to make another!

  6. What a great book! My favorite scrap quilt I bought a long time ago. It is made with 30’s fabrics in a Friendship Star pattern. I only wish it was bigger, it’s a baby quilt but I love 30’s fabrics so I bought it anyway!

  7. I love making Crumb blocks with my scraps. I started a string one as well, but I prefer the crumb ones. This book looks like fun. Someone will be very happy to receive it.

  8. I have made many scrap quilts. My current favorite is a lap size one given to my dog. It’s made up of bright modern quilt block orphans from numerous other projects. I’d love to win a copy of the book. I prefer to use it up but also love all kinds of new fabric on the market so thus more comes in then goes out. It’s a good hobby.

  9. I haven’t made a scrappy quilt yet, but I’ve been “collecting” old men’s shirts. They were given to me by family members and I hope to start making a quilt with them in 2025 🙂

  10. I am a fairly new quilter and I am currently collecting my scraps and sewing up the triangles that are cut off the snow balled corners and all the other scraps to make something anyway the only thing I have completed so far with my scraps are 2 place mats but I would love a digital copy of the magazine about no waste quilting cause I hate throwing any fabric pieces away and

  11. I have made 2 scrappy quilts which give me so much joy when I look at them. I need to give them away but haven’t found the courage to do so just yet. I also love sewing scraps onto foundation fabric of different widths and then turning them into useable items, like phone bags, pouches, coasters, pot holders, quilt blocks. I use new and recycled fabrics which all go into the mix for wonderful results.

  12. lol, I find it hard to do a scrap quilt but hands down SECRET LIVES Of COLOUR!!!!!! I love how mine turned out!!!!
    Thanks Pat for the QAL!!!

  13. I love making scrappy quilts ! My favourite was a charity quilt I made with a panel surrounded by 2 1/2” squares! Felt good knowing it would go to a young child and hope it brought a smile to their face 😉

  14. I Love love love scrappy!! I watch you everyday in the morning drinking my tea. You are such an inspiration, thank you.

  15. My favorite scrappy quilt is a scrappy string quilt. My 2 sisters and I video chat every Sunday since we each live in a different state. We each made one from our own scraps. Though my youngest sister had to raid Mom’s stash because she is a newer quilter and hasn’t had a chance to build her stash yet!

  16. I’m a new quilter and am building my scraps for now. I have a container of HSTs made from the scraps of other projects. I hope to experiment after Christmas.

  17. I made 2 twin sized totally scrappy Pineapple Quilts. It was the most fun and messiest project I ever did. I also made a New York Beauty and Autumn Leave quilt totally scrappy. It’s my “thing”. I’ve also been using mens shirts and other 100% cotton garments as fabric. Waste not, want not!

  18. My favorite scrap quilt is one that I made from a box of scraps given to me at a garage sale. It was entirely free form and grew to a king sized quilt on my daughter’s bed. It was also my first quilt I ever made.

  19. I made a scrappy quilt started back in 2013 using my scraps and some fat quarters. My house was on the market and most everything else was boxed up waiting for the move. I finally quilted it last year. Makes a lovely memory quilt of my home and the many years I spent sewing and quilting before I sold it.

  20. I have only made one truly scrappy quilt so far. I used my scraps to make my 2023 National Quilt Museum BOM. I loved how it turned out!

  21. I haven’t made a scrap quilt but I am going to start one. I love the way playing with color makes such a big difference.

  22. My favorite scrappy quilt is one we did as a Saturday sampler at our local quilt shop. We started with a scrappy center and added rounds. It was so much fun to do

  23. My favorite scrap quilt is a scrappy heart quilt made with the leftover pieces from all the baby quilts I made for my nieces and nephews.

  24. My favorite scrap quilts are the Bonnie Hunter patterns in controlled colorways. Allietare was a favorite. I have also made 2 Traffic Jams and a String Bean quilt. Those were more randon scrappy.

  25. My favourite scrap quilt was my “Crossroads Scrappy Quilt” by Lori Holt. I used all my scrap 2.5″ squares as leader/enders until I had enough blocks for. Sadly I sold it to a friend who fell in love with so I’ll be making another. All my scrap quilts have started out as leader/enders.

  26. My favorite scrap quilt is one I made using only pieces if fabric I already had. I bought no new for the top, but I will admit I bought a wide back when I got it quilted. I still have so many scraps that this book would help get rid of some of them. I have a goal to not buy new fabric unless it’s for a very specific purpose and will be used immediately after purchase. This book looks like a great one to add to my library.

  27. I dug through my scraps to make a Laundry Basket weekly mystery lsew along this year of a strip landscape. I loved it but it made a huge mess as I dug through my scraps each week. I love this quilt and am gifting it to my son and his fiancĂ©. I’m going to make another one for myself. I also, make collage quilts and these help to use up my scraps.

  28. Pat’s Traffic Jam made with all pink and burgundy is my favorite! Donated to my quilting circle for a blessed little girl! Plan on making another on soon with all shades of blue!!

  29. My favourite scrap quilt I have made was the 54, 40 or Fight. I even used both sides of the fabric to get different shades. The quilt now belongs to my granddaughter in Zimbabwe. Loved going through Patty’s book with you today on YouTube – so many great projects.

  30. I make 6 1/2 inch scrap blocks as a leaders and enders. It’s nice because I’m constantly using scraps up, even though the pile never goes down. I have finished one donation quilt and one donation top that needs to be finished. I had a skinny Sashing to break up the busyness

  31. I haven’t made a scrappy quilt yet but I did make a bag with orphan blocks and scraps for my daughter and she loved it. I will make a New Year’s resolution to start a scrap quilt in 2025

  32. I have made a 2.5 inch square scrap quilt for Project Linus. I’ve explored some YouTube videos (@quilted forest) for other ideas. I’have also cut scraps to make a charity quilt with one if the Ode to National Parks blocks.

  33. I haven’t made any scrap quilts, yet, but would love to make a crumb quilt and also a string quilt. (This is why I need this book!) lol
Thanks for all you give us, Pat. Especially your time!

  34. Hi Pat!! My favorite scrap quilt is one I made by sewing uneven strips of colored scraps to 10″ block papers. I sewed them on point to the papers and they went together like multicolor diamonds. It was so much fun! It’s about time to use up more scraps.

  35. My favorite scrap quilt is the one I’m currently quilting! It has a fishing panel surrounded by 2” scrappy squares. It’s a trip down my quilting memory lane.

  36. I think my favorite scrap quilt is called Cozy. I cut all my cream and browns into 3 1/2” squares and anything smaller I cut 1 1/2” strips and made 3 1/2” 9 patches. I had a few blocks left and made a doll quilt out of them. So fun. I like making doll quilts out of leftovers. Great for practicing your free motion quilting. Some little girl will love the quilt and not judge your quilting!

  37. Favorite scrap quilt is a Trellis Quilt which includes fabrics from years of collecting scraps. Scraps remind me of the quilts I pieced/quilted in the past; it’s like ‘Going Down Memory Lane.’

  38. I made a scrappy bear claw quilt for my mom for her 94th birthday this year. The very first quilt she gave me was a bear claw quilt so I thought it would be fun to make a very colorful scrappy one for her. She loves it. I’m now making her pillow shams and pillow cases to match. So far, this is my favorite scrappy quilt I ever made. It turned out beautifully and was a great surprise for her.

  39. My favorite scrappy quilt I’ve made (so far) is a scrappy denim. I am working on a crumb quilt that I want to make into a “crazy” cat lady quilt.

  40. Scrap quilts are my jam! Over the summer I made three crumb quilts using the crumb blocks that I have been making for years. I’m up to 5 completed crumb quilts. I love the way that each crumb is a story of a project made by myself or by my quilting friends. When I go to quilt retreats, I am the scrap collector, so I have quite the variety. I have a 6-gallon Red Wing crock in my sewing room that I put my scraps into as I am working on other projects. Then a few times a year, I go through the crock and cut the scraps up into different pre-cut sizes and whatever’s left goes into the crumb quilts. I will try to get that done again here soon before the end of the year so I start 2025 with a clean slate with my scraps.

  41. Hi, my first quilt was a crazy quilt I started about 30 years ago with all the scraps from the clothes I made my family, embroidery on each seam, finally finished it by quilt as you go 5 years ago. It is hanging in my spare bedroom, I love seeing all the different fabric, brings back lovely memories. thx.

  42. I’ve not yet made a scrap quilt (but I probably have enough scrap to do one!) I was gifted an old (maybe 1930s) scrap quilt that belonged to a great aunt of a friend. It’s really large so I don’t display it. I should try to figure that out since it’s so sad for it to be hidden away.

  43. My fav scrap quilt was a double Irish chain using so many 2 1/2 inch squares. The no waste idea for quilting is my goal.
