** Charity Fundraiser with my Merch! **

Gregg and I are partnering with our wonderful friends, Kate & Pete Spain, to host a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen. They were on the ground feeding everyone when a disaster hits. My brother in Asheville, NC, experienced their help firsthand when they were helping his community. He was so impressed by their kindness. We want to support this fantastic group and all the hard work they do to help others.

  1. I love scrap quilts. I made one for our King Size Bed. It gives you opportunity to see all your other projects.

  2. My favorite scrappy quilt is a large flannel log cabin quilt. It’s got a consistent deep red center but every color of the rainbow for rounds of the cabin. It’s backed with flannel and I made it big enough so when I was curled up reading and decided to stretch, the quilt would still cover me. I noticed last night some of the binding has come loose and one seam needs fixing, but, since it’s at least 15 years old, it’s allowed to come undone a bit 🙂

  3. My favorite scrap quilt is one I made with your block Wednesday blocks years back. I made one block per one of my projects, resulting in a quilt for myself with memories/scraps from all my quilts that year!
Thanks for all you share and inspire!

  4. My favorite scrapy quilt was completed earlier this year by making scrappy 12″ blocks then cut ocean creatures from them that I appliqued onto a background to make blocks for a quilt. Gave the quilt to a granddaughter who is studying oceanography in college. It was a hit!

  5. I have not made a quilt with scraps but have done a lot of hot pads. I have been cutting in my scraps into 2 1/2″ squares and hope to make a quilt in 2025 using the squares. The book looks amazing!!

  6. I seem to have more red and blue scraps than any other colour. I am slowly sewing them into scrappy coin blocks. When I have enough, I’ll figure out a quilt layout for them.

  7. Brick houses from Fat Quarter Shop is my work in progress. I do each house in a fabric line like Kimberly did. Love how its turning out.

  8. I’m often called the Dumpster Driver Diva at sewing retreats because I take the cut off HSTs out of the garbage when others just throw them away!! I think my favorite use for those HSTs of various sizes are split 9-patches. I’ve used them alone in a quilt, borders around panels, and just played along to figure out new designs with them.

  9. Getting ready to make a scrap quilt with two-gallon bags of squares and rectangles so far.
This book is full of inspiration!

  10. I have really enjoyed making the “potato chip” style of a scrap quilt out of rectangles. I’m also sewing red and white 2.5″ square blocks like Pat’s but inserting small red and white animal panel pieces from Gingiber(Bramble) into some of the units. Thanks for all the inspiration, Pat!

  11. I am still in the process of making a scrap quilt by Barbara Black called “Love your Layout”. I am using scrap baseball fabric from a previous baseball quilt I made for a grandson. I just bought another quilt my friend made in that same class. I am going to give it to my niece. It is made up of her wedding colors. She is getting married next May on my parent’s wedding anniversary.

  12. My favorite scap quilt is one my grandmother made about 40 or 50 years ago. It is made of simple squares with a blanket for batting and a pieced flannel backing. I recognize some of the fabrics from dresses and aprons she wore.
Many of the quilts I make use scraps because she taught me to quilt.

  13. My favorite scrap quilt will be the one that I’m making now. I make one block using fabrics from a current project. The quilt will be a record of what I’ve made.

  14. My favorite scrap quilt is a Christmas Wreath wall hanging. Lots of bright colorful scraps were sewn onto a black background in the shape of a wreath.

  15. My favorite scrappy quilt is a Lori Hold Star pattern. I love that no points are cut off.
I have made several scrappy quilts. String quilts are a lot of fun. I also made a Oh My Stars using pink and purple scrappy blocks and gave it to a lady in a nursing home. Even though I use my scraps they seem to have babies at night and contiually grow. I guess I like controlled scrappy. I tried crumb blocks and used sashing to calm the various colors and gave it to a Downe Syndrom child. Would love to win the book give away. Thank you Pat for all you do to inspire us.

  16. I love making scape quilts. One type I sew a lot is 5 or 6 inch blocks for baby quilte for Brenner’s children’s hospital

  17. My usual scrap quilt is the string quilt. We make them in our quilt club and give them as Heartwarming Quilts to others who are going through an illness. Love your videos. Keep up the great work.

  18. My favorite scrappy quilt is an apple core pattern. When I look at all the fabrics it brings back many memories.

  19. My favorite scrap quilt is all HSTs, where one half of each block is a black and white print and the other half is whatever color prints in my scrap pile.

  20. I really love the idea of using scraps of completed quilts past to create scrap quilts. I’ve started cutting usable pieces in squares and rectangles. Also, i never use a whole jelly roll, so I now have growing collection of orphan 2 1/2″ strips. I’ve pieced a quilt top using thimble blossom pattern Nesting that uses 2 1/2″ strips or 2 1/2″ squares that looked great scrappy. Might make another using scraps.

  21. My favorite scrap quilt are the Christmas tree quilt we made last year from Wendy Shepherds book Christmas Quilting

  22. My favorite scrap quilt is a jewel box quilt made with Christmas scraps. My son quilted it for me with snowflake motifs.

  23. I do not have a scrappy quilt but now that I’m a quilter I have started sewing scrappy blocks. Some blocks I sew strips to a base and others are just pieces I keep sewing together. There’s not enough finished yet for a quit. Well maybe a baby doll quilt lol I love the almost mindless scrappy sewing. No stress, no sizes, no patterns to think about. Just sew, sew, sew!

  24. My favourite scrap quilt is one I call Scrappy Stars! I didn’t follow a pattern just played around with 16 patch blocks and it happened!
Thanks for sharing your talents with all of us 💝

  25. I made a bunch of scrappy crumb blocks from lots of little pieces in different colors and then made them the center of wonky 8 pointed stars. I was happy with the design.

  26. I have sewn strip quilt blocks where scrap strips are sewn diagonally onto thin fabric. I also have made pouches and most recently a Christmas stocking from half square triangles ~ leftover matched corners trimmed from sew and flip corners! The stocking was made from all those trimmed green tree corners from making “Bringing Home the Christmas Tree” a few years ago!

  27. My favorite scrappy quilt is one I made out of 3/4″ hexies, it is oversized queen. I’m not planning on making any more hexie quilts, but there will be more scrappy quilts in my future. I volunteer for a group and do there long arm quilting for them.. They take in fabric donations and the pieces that are too small for us to use for the sewing students I save and make scrappy quilts that I in turn longarm and then are given for charity quilts.

  28. My favorite scrap quilt is a paper pieced pattern called sewing notions. All the fabric used was from my scrap bag.

  29. I made a very cute string quilt using only the floral fabrics left over from a previous project. I did it as a QAYG – and was pleased with how quickly it was done. My granddaughter has it now.

  30. My favorite scrap quilt is Pressed Flowers quilt along pattern in the sew sampler box from Fat Quarter Shop. I used lavenders , purples and greens from my stash. I forced myself to use what I had on hand.

  31. Love to look at and make scrap quilts! My Burgoyne Surrounded in scraps is my favorite (and has remained so for several years.)

  32. Most all of the quilts I make would be considered scrappy because I rarely use any fabric collection. I use fat quarters and yardage I collect. The more fabrics the better, ala Bonnie Hunter. There are a lot of scraps left that I would to use and this book looks very interesting. I really enjoyed Pat’s year of sewing up her scraps and look forward to seeing what she does in 2025 with those blocks. My only true scrap quilt was a string quilt and it turned out great.

  33. My granddaughter loves sewing the crumbs together. I decided to use those blocks for the center of star square with polka dot rays and make her a twin quilt for her bed. The label had both of us as the designer with a shout out to her for making her first quilt. Such a fun project.

  34. My favorite scrap quilt is a Yellow Brick Road pattern I made. I also made some lap quilts
from scraps I had left from another project.

  35. Hi Pat, My favorite scrap quilt that I own is the one my mom made decades ago -my Sister and I each have one and I cherish mine. I love to make small scrappy quilts from my leftovers – mug rugs and small quilts.

  36. My favorite scrap quilt was a Crazry six quilt using the templates. Made a lap quilt using my Southwest scraps. This quilt will warm be during the cold winter days in Alberta when I can no longer go to Yuma.

  37. My favorite is a controlled scrappy patriotic quilt. Always love any Red, White, and Blue quilt. P.S.: the National Anthem always makes me cry 🇺🇸

  38. This year I made three string scarp quilts. My two favorites were green and the other blue tones. Many years ago I snowballed a 16 patch mostly browns and put that one on my guest bed.

  39. My favorite scrap quilt is a cat quilt I made from gifted fabric scraps that my MIL did not want/need anymore…and she received the quilt when I had it finished. Then I made another quilt from those scraps sewn into bars and alternated with background fabric and gave that to my stepdaughter, my MIL’s granddaughter.

  40. My favorite scrap quilt is a string quilt made of all blue and white fabrics. I normally cut my scraps into 2.5 in strips. I can make a 9 patch with them or use them for a string quilt. The book looks like it has great projects.

  41. I have never made a scrap quilt but the ones I see are all coordinated with like colors and look so good, I don’t have scraps like that. It intimates me but I would love to make one and use my scraps.

  42. My favorite scrap quilt is Grandmothers garden from Sherri McConnell. I used 1930’s fabrics and made a King size. She has it as a free pattern on her website.
