  1. In the summer I love to ride my bicycle daily. Also enjoy attending quilt shows and shop hops all summer long.

  2. Oh my, I live at the beach in NC. This would be perfect because NC’s weather is so up and down in temperature that it would be used all year long. Fingers crossed.

  3. OMG. You are giving away such a meaningful quilt. Your heart must be so excited to be doing g this. Thank you. I have hand quilted one pillow and that took for ever. Your focus and attention to detail is extreme. Go you

  6. Your generosity blows me away! (Beautiful Quilt.) What is there not to LOVE about summer? I love being outdoors period. The fresh air and warmth of the sun. Top on my list though is Gardening! I’m hopefully looking forward to your upcoming segments on flowers & plants.
BTW…your Mason jars started the excitement.

  7. I liked to gather some quilting friends and go for a car ride to visit as many quilt stores in a day as we can, we usually do at least 2 trips in the summer, one East and one West.

  8. Love the beach and to scuba dive in summer. So relaxing and beautiful. One of the last places not touched by man. Beautiful and happy quilt!

  9. I love hiking and anything outdoors. Plus that is when a lot of quilt shows happen in our area. I get so inspired.

  11. I love the beach and scuba diving in summer. Diving is so relaxing and beautiful. One of the few places left that man has not touched. Beautiful and happy quilt!

  12. My favorite summer activity is camping out by the lake. Here in Oklahoma we have many beautiful lakes and camp sites. We cook out over the fire, roast marshmallows and just sit and relax in the evenings. I usually bring some kind of hand sewing like English paper piecing, or a current crochet project. The best part is being with family and listen to the sounds of nature. Thank you Pat for all the wonderful videos and teaching methods you share. I’ve learned a lot, especially about color placement , and experimenting with value and prints, and you make it fun!

  13. I grew up in a very small coastal town in Mendocino County, California. Many happy memories of days at the beach with friends and even my sweet horse! Summertime at beach = heaven ❤️

  14. I love your explanation about getting joy out of the process of making a quilt! For the first few years of my quilting journey, I would have told you that the joy in the journey (for me) was in collecting the fabric:) While it is soooo fun finding new fabrics, the gift of being a maker has become my happy place. I love this quilt as it takes me back to growing up in Morro Bay, CA on the beach. Looking at the quilt, makes me feel the wind in my hair and sand in my toes! I am going to dig into my patterns and fabric and put a coastal quilt on my 2024 list of quilts. Thank you for the inspiration. I appreciate you.

  15. I would love to win a quilt made by Pat Sloan. Love the beach and am spending the winter in Florida at the beach

  16. I’ve seen Pat’s quilt and they are beautiful!.. To actually own one would be like flying to the moon ad back!!!!!

  17. My favorite summer activity (besides sewing and quilting) is having our grandchildren at hour house for an extended visit, without their parents. Fun and exhausting!

  18. Pat,
I enjoy going for walks in the spring and summer also going fishing with family members. We would make smores during the evening nights and enjoy the stars while we camp during the summer.

  19. My favorite summer activity is swimming in my pool and eating tomato sandwiches. Your quilt reminds me of summer vacations at the Jersey shore with the song” Under the Boardwalk” playing.

  20. I love sitting on the patio eating lunch and reading. It’s a simple pleasure for me, but I missed it for three years when we didn’t have a patio cover and it was too hot to enjoy.

  21. I love the process of making the quilt, from choosing the fabric to sewing on the binding. The problem is I have so many other hobbies from gardening to reading that I can’t spend as much time as I want to in my sewing room. Happy 10th Anniversary. The beach quilt is awesome.

  22. What a beautiful quilt! I am a summer person, so hard to say one thing. I’ll sum it up by saying a generic being outdoors is my favorite thing. Hiking, biking, camping, gardening, wearing sandals (not an activity LOL)…the list goes on!! You are so generous to gift this to one of us!

  23. My favorite summer activities are picnicking on the beach and watching the sun set and stargazing around the fire at night! Hurry up summer!

  24. I love to attend different summer festivals and events with my husband or friends around our state. You even meet some wonderful makers there.

  25. My favorite summer activity is traveling to do ancestry investigations. I grew up going to the beach in Miami, so this quilt brings back happy memories.

  26. My favorite Summer activity is traveling, hikes ans runs in the Texas Hill Country and hitting every quilt shop to and from everywhere we go!!!

  27. My favorite summer activity is mowing (~6 acres) while listening to music, and then cooling off at our camp while I sew. The quiet and peacefulness is incredible.

  28. i love having my gardens-vegetable and flower. Watching birds on the feeders. Smell of summer rain. That green in the light around sunset.

  29. My quilting friend, I love the beach ⛱️ and would like to make a memory quilt like this. It would be used and loved. What wonderful memories it brings back, so many memories of mine from Southern California. Now live in Texas,

  30. I really enjoyed what you said about how you make the quilts and let them go to someone else and that’s just wonderful. I give away a lot of my quilts and it is the joy in making them and for me 2024 is going to be dedicated to UFOs absolutely and without a doubt. I would love this quilt the freshness and the beach field of it in Southwest Florida would be so totally cool. I have coffee with you every single morning. Love your show April

  31. Oh I Love this quilt! It would go in my camper! My favorite summer activities in Summer are spend 4 days a week at camp and campfires with friends!!

  32. My favorite summer activity is an early morning walk. Then it’s in to the air conditioning for quilting!

  33. I found your videos about a year ago and I’m still watching them and learning something new every day. I’ve been quilting for a long time and now everything is new with better methods for making quilts. Thank you for helping me to start my days with sunshine and happy thoughts.

  34. My favorite summer activity is to exercise and swim in our backyard pool. I also love watching the children of our friends and our grandchildren enjoy the pool with a lot of laughter and splashing. I would love to have a summer quilt you put such joy into.

  35. Hi pat! Lovely video this week. I enjoyed it with my mom as usual. Can’t wait for the next! Love your quilt <3

  36. Pat my favorite summer activity is anything outside! I worked in the landscape field for nearly 19 yrs. I now have a mostly ‘inside’ job and love my time off to be out walking, weeding in the garden or whatever. I too enjoy the process of making for others. I especially love it when I find a fabric that tells me who it should go to, even when I have no planned project:) Thanks to you, I am also enjoying making a few things for myself. I look forward to the Breakfast club blocks every week and I’m smiling the whole time I make each one. Thank you!
