- What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is 18" x 20"
- Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
- Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes! Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
- Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
- Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
- What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
- NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block. I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic. That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

My favorite Holiday event is Christmas Eve Services! And decorating the Christmas tree with my grandchildren!
My favorite part of Holudays is greeting card messages from friends and family.
My favorite holiday event is when my little town has their annual nights of Church Street Christmas. The road on Church Street is cobblestones, and the homes and churches on it are quite old, and are wonderfully decorated for the holidays. It’s closed off to traffic, and people walk the street looking at the lights and enjoying the evening. I think, even if only for that night, it reminds people to slow down and enjoy Christmas without all the trappings of commercialism.
I like to look at Christmas lights every year. I also enjoy a new Christmas experience each year. This year I got to go to an Andre Bocelli concert with a couple friends. Awesome experience. π
making & eating shortbread…with family
Favorite holiday decoration is the Elf that I bought at a craft store. He makes me grin and smile and laugh when I look at him. My favorite event is spending the time with my family and enjoying each other’s company.
Ready with my Moonstone fabric….. bring on January. Finally snow here around 5 inches yesterday. I love to bake cookies for friends and family at Christmas. I also make fudge, peanut brittle and toffee. Lots of colors, textures and yumminess….. Thanks for all you do for us. Your looking very good this week quite a great recovery if I may say so myself.
My favorite Christmas decoration are 3 ceramic wise men my step-mother painted 50 years ago. They are so beautiful and bring back memories.
50 years ago, when I was 16 and working my first job, I bought two beanbag Christmas decorations, one was a reindeer and the other a camel. Every year since then I have put these two decorations out under my tree. Even now I’m sitting here looking at them under the tree and it just feels like home and family. celebrations and good memories. Where ever I’ve been they always join me for the holiday.
My favorite holiday decoration is my Nativity scene. It was given to my parents for their first Christmas together in 1950 by my grandparents. It was made in Italy and is just so beautiful. I canβt help but smile as I carefully unwrap each piece every year. Itβs such a treasure.
One of my favorite things at Christmas are all the special goodies that I make.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the angel on the top of my tree. I’ve had it for over 20 years and it still looks great. My favorite event is when all our children and grandchildren are able to come over for Christmas. Love listening to the Christmas music and seeing all the outside decorations.
My favorite Christmas experience is simply spending time with my family, especially my 12 and 13 year old grandsons. I get tons of joy watching them torment their parents! Happy Holidays to all.
My favorite Christmas event is putting up a real tree and smelling the pine fragrance.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the large nativity I put up around our fireplace. It is a constant reminder for me if what this season is about and how we are needing to be kind, be helpful, be generous to those less fortunate and share our love freely with family and friends. I always put it up first so I can enjoy it the longest. My favorite thing to do for the holidays is the baking and candy making that goes in baskets for wonderful neighbors and extended family members. Spending the time working while thinking of each of them. Putting my thoughts and prayers for their coming year I to all that gets made.
My favorite Holiday decoration is a handmade crocheted stocking that me great Aunt made for me as a little girl! Oh the memories it brings of special family each year when I get it out to hang! Thank you Pat, for all your creative ideas and wonderful teachings! Tidings of comfort and joy to you and your family!
My favorite Christmas decorations are the wooden toys and animals made by my grandpa. He and grandma taught me that I can create anything and to put my heart into my gifting. <3
My favorite is taking out the handmade ornaments the kids have made over the years. With four kids, that’s a lot such a kindergarten years etc. No matter how they look, we love them!
My favorite Christmas event is watching my grand babies opening their presents. The excitement in their eyes is priceless.
My favorite Christmas ornaments have always been the ones my children and now grandchildren make for the tree. We lost our home and everything in it in the California wildfires of 2017, so I miss those treasures along with their photos. These past few years, I have been having the grandkids make new ones, especially the handprint molds. New treasures to cherish! The first quilt I made after the fire was a red and white Irish Chain for Christmas; quilting can be healing. Wishing everyone good health and peace this holiday.
I love to go to holiday performances.
Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I enjoy everything to do with Christmas but my favourite event is baking cookies with my daughters. No celebration is complete without cookies and sweets.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the box of old ornaments that belonged to my parents, probably dating from 1940βs. I had the original boxes they came in but in moving several times through the years, some fell apart. The ornaments have been used a lot and are not as bright as they once were, but they shine with beautiful memories for me. I am sure no one else in our family loves them like I do, but they mean a lot to me, Happy Memories and Merry Christmas!
I loved going to the tree farm with you kids. Looking at 25 to 30 trees, then a. Out always getting the 1st one we looked at. I miss those times. I don’t have room for a big tree but my daughter makes sure I have a few small fake ones,
I love all things about Christmas. But my favorite are my Santa dolls I have made. Plus a small plastic Mr. and Mrs. under the clock and mistletoe. Was from Christmas when I was younger.
My favorite event is the Christmas cantata at a neighboring church. Lifts my spirits.
My favorite decorating for Christmas is baking and decorating sugar cookie cutouts. Our mother did this with us until she passed away when I was just 12. Since then I have always made the cutouts and decorated them with my family. There isn’t much family left and they are spread out but still look forward to receiving cookies in the mail. I have shared my recipe with friends, family, girl scout and boy scout troops as well as coworkers…. everybody loves them but few make them because of the time they take.
I really adore gnomes. I think they look like Mini Santa’s
My favorite holiday decoration is the Angel tree topper that was my parents’. It’s from Germany and is beautiful. It brings back so many memories and feelings.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the various sizes of nutcrackers that I have and the several Santa Claus figures that I have.
My favorite Christmas event is having all my friends over for Christmas dinner & games.
My favorite Christmas event each year is decorating the Christmas tree! It is like going down memory lane when unwrapping each special ornament and finding that perfect place to hang them on the tree. The ultimate moment is when we light up the tree and the entire room glistens, bringing joy and gratitude in my heart! Merry Christmas to you & yours!
My favorite memories is Christmas morning where Dad always had to make coffee FIRST before us 6 kids could open presents. My husband and I continued this tradition with our children to ‘amp’ up the anticipation with kids dancing around. They are grown now and it continues with the visiting grandchildren and has become the family humor of how coffee always must be made first. Family time just the best!
My favorite decoration is my tree! I love the lights on early in the morning and at night. It makes the house so cozy.
My favorite decorations are the ones made by my children when they were in preschool.
Hi, Pat. My favorite Christmas decoration is a beautiful pink, white and gold Russian doll – ten dolls in all. Love them. Happy holidays to you and your husband!
I love watching “It’s a Wonderful Life and White Christmas then I’m in the mood!
My favorite Christmas event is baking cookies with my family and friends. Always messy and fun.
My favorite holiday event is our family Christmas dinner. I love to spend time with my family.
My favourite Christmas event is watching my son-in-law lift up my grandchild to place the Christmas angel on the tree top. As a child, My daughter used to put it on our tree, I gifted it to her when grandchildren started arriving and the 3 of them get to have a turn. Dad had to hold up the15 yr old daughter this year. Last year was 17yr old son! Next year, 13yr old son. Not sure how long before he gets the step ladder out!!
My favorite decoration is a ceramic Santa that my Mom made back in the 60’s, he is sitting on a big bag which has an opening for candy canes and he is ringing a big gold bell. Santa has a little music box inside that plays “Santa Clause is coming to town”…what else would it be!
My favorite event is going to my church Christmas program every year. The music is phenomenal and the members of the church and the kids put on a program to go along with the music that is sung. When the program is over you definitely know the reason for the season.
My favorite holiday event is when my children and grandkids come to visit. Just to relax and catch up is wonderful.
Putting up the tree and all of the free standing lace ornament.Happy holiday to all
My favorite holiday decoration is the ceramic light up Christmas tree that my aunt made for
our wedding gift 53 years ago. Our wedding was in December so it reminds me of our wedding, and my dear aunt who has passed away.
My favorite Christmas tradition is Baking Day with my 2 daughters and 2 grand kids. This tradition started back when I was going up and it was my Mom, 2 older sisters and me. Then we all grew up, got married and had kids. Our Baking day then consisted of My Mom, 2 older sisters, me and 7 grand kids. My Dad and Son-in-laws were always the cookie testers π We all had matching aprons for the day that my older sister made. A very sweet Christmas tradition.
I love love to wrap presents!! Itβs my favorite part and usually my daughter and I will do it together. Plus my other daughter makes home made cinnamon rolls in Christmas morning!!
Since the grandkids arrived in our lives, elf on the shelf has to be my favorite. My hubby is very creative at placing the elf… and sometimes I have difficulty finding him!
Christmas Eve is my favorite holiday event. When the grandchildren and their parents come over for dinner and presents.
We have a good time and take a family photo.
My favorite Christmas decoration is a ceramic nativity set my mom made in the 1960s in Alaska. My dad was stationed at Elmendorf AFB and I can remember my mom going to her ceramics class to clean and paint the pieces. It is a beautiful set in its simplicity.
