  1. My favorite tradition is putting up my tree while listening to the Partridge families Christmas album! Both of my children’s families do the same thing ! Makes me so happy! Merry Christmas y’all! 🎄🎄🎄

  2. Many years ago, my mother got me started with a few pieces of a Christmas Village. I have since added many pieces to it. This year, my husband is going to build a custom display table for it! The village is my favorite Christmas decoration.

  3. My favorite holiday event is our local Festival of Trees. The 60 trees are creatively decorated by local groups/organizations. The proceeds help support student organizations. Fun and festive!

  4. I love everything about Christmas. The lights, the wrapping and giving of gifts, the nativity story, the movies, the food, and everything. I thoroughly enjoy driving around and looking at the Christmas lights people put up on their homes. The month of December just goes way to quickly for me. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE EVERYTHING!

  5. My favourite event is baking day! A friend and coworker and I get together and spend a whole Saturday baking while our kids play together! We have been doing it for MANY years and it is always a great time!

  6. My favorite Event was gathering with friends and family on Christmas Eve for food and friendship, then going to the 10 pm church service. We have moved, so we’ll start a new tradition this year.

  7. My favorite Christmas decoration i my bringing home the Christmas tree table runner I made. I enjoy going to see Christmas lights .

  8. My favorite Christmas event is a live Nativity at a local church held outside on one night only. Visiting the live Nativity is always a calming, grace-filled activity.

  9. My favorite Christmas decoration is Everything Christmas. I Love the lights, the trees, the nativity, the snowmen, Santa. My youngest Granddaughters have came over the last few years to help Nunna decorate the trees. I love watching them and the excitement it all brings them. I decorate the entire house. In my sewing room I have a sign that says “My Favorite Color Is Christmas Lights.
Pat, I am just in amazement at how well you look like you are healing so quickly. I hope the pain is going away just as quickly. Merry Christmas to you and Mr. Greg.

  10. My favorite event (but really it’s a tradition) is after all the gifts are opened, we play Axel’s Christmas. Axel (Clellan Card) was a local television personality who was on a kid’s program, Axel and his Treehouse on WCCO in Minnesota. At Christmas, he would recite “The Night Before Christmas” in his own special way. My husband and I both grew up with Axel and we passed it on to our 5 children and 8 grandchildren.

  11. My favorite Christmas event is always the candlelight Christmas Eve service at church, with greens as decorations, lights on the tree and carols to sing with friends and family.

  12. My favourite Christmas decoration is an Advent Calendar I made for my kids many years ago. It was the kind where you take a decoration out of each day’s pocket and put it onto the tree, until you get to Christmas Eve when Santa appears. Now my grandchildren are enjoying it. This makes me so happy!

  13. My favorite holiday decorations are a bunch of snow people I collected over many years from a local crafter. She has since retired from making them, but I still look forward to putting them out every year.

  14. My favorite event is Christmas morning with the grandkids! And my favorite decoration is our Christmas tree. It is covered with memorabilia of our lives: over 500 items that represent the places we’ve been, friends from the past, our own homemade ornaments, etc.

  15. hi,Pat! My favorite Christmas event is decorating the Christmas tree of whichever home of my family, and then having a quiet meditation standing in front of the decorated tree the following evenings, reflecting on all the love the tree harbors as it lends its’ gentle, now glowing beautiful limbs to our hearts glow for the season. And my peace is multiplied, as I reflect on the meaning of the season with the Christmas tree’s help, and I can give more wholeheartedly to all. Amen.

  16. My favorite decoration is the tree. It has all my grandmother’s, mom’s and my ornaments. Just looking at the tree brings back so many happy memories and I have a daughter and granddaughter to hopefully keep the tradition going. Hope you and Greg have a very blessed holidays!

  17. My favorite holiday tradition was started when my husband and myself celebrated our first Christmas married. While on our honeymoon (in the spring) we found a little shop that sold ornaments and we picked one up so we could remember the trip. We’ve continued the tradition of getting one or two new ornaments each year to commemorate a special event (a cupcake when we discovered we were expecting) or something that summed up the year or caused us a good laugh. Now our son is old enough to understand more of what’s going on and picked out our ornament for this year. He likes riding on the tractor with his grandpa and his grandpa recently got a new puppy. Our son found a dog in a Santa hat riding on a tractor and it seemed pretty perfect for our son summing up his year.

  18. My favorite holiday decorations are all the ones my kids have made me. I love each year unpacking all the ornaments and having the kids hang them on the tree.

  19. My favorite holiday event was being together Christmas Eve with all the extended family and do skits and play group games. One Christmas we started attaching a “dare” to our gift exchange where you pick numbers and do some trading. For example if you picked a gift from the pile the dare could be “doing a John Wayne impersonation” or go out to the street and yell “I Love you”. Funny stuff.

  20. Good morning! My favorite holiday event is a Christmas granddaughter sleepover that I host every year. My granddaughters are now 9, 12, and 14. We have been doing this for at least 10 years. We usually make personal pizzas, do a craft, make individual gingerbread houses, play games, ready Christmas stories, and watch a Christmas movie. The next morning we have a yummy breakfast and make Christmas cookies to take to my neighbors. It’s always a fun event. I hope I’m making memories with my granddaughters, and that they also carry on the tradition someday with their own granddaughters. 🎄❤️

  21. My favorite Christmas decorations are my nativity scenes. And of course my favorite event is seeing my grandkids open their presents! Merry Christmas!

  22. My favorite Christmas decorations are a set of wooden ornaments that my husband and I painted for our first Christmas tree when we had very little money. Each of us painted one side of each ornament (then, when they were dry, the other sides) and I attached some ribbon for a hanger. We still use them 49 years later and they are a special memory.

  23. Our favorite Christmas decorations have to be the lights that we put up….it’s not the great Christmas light fight by any stretch of the imagination but my husband and I do it together and he is just like a kid when we do it that he makes me so happy. The second favorite would be playing Santa for my mother in law…we sneak in on Christmas Eve and fill her stockings and put candy canes on her tree…again hubster is just like a little kid when we do this it is so much fun!

  24. Good morning Pat, a very favorite holiday tradition is the gathering of family and friends. Last year, all gatherings were via devices. I hope this year we may be able to actually get together, share food, laugh, tell stories. At one gathering that has been going on for about 20 years, we always bring seasonal books and read aloud. A favorite book is A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas. This book is read every year. Happy holidays to you.

  25. Hi Pat! I’m glad you’re healing so nicely. I too have had a rough year so I can relate. 🙂 My favorite Christmas decoration is a Fenton art glass sleigh and 7 reindeer. (I’m still trying to find #8) it’s beautiful and it makes my mantle look so festive. I hope you and yours have a great holiday season and your healing continues quickly.

  26. My favorite Christmas event is the family dinner and gift exchange at my Mother’s house. She is 94 years old and we cherish every one we have with her.

  27. Decorating with snowmen and holly is my favorite. That way I don’t have to put it all away till I’m tired of winter.

  28. I love making gingerbread houses with my grandkids and decorating the tree. Sometimes just sitting and listening to the chatter going on and being all together is the best and who can resist those little ones opening gifts.

  29. Cookie exchange with friends in a messy kitchen is a favorite memory. Carols, hot chocolate, cider and laughing. I’m really looking forward to it this year…zooming last year wasn’t quite the same😊

  30. Christmas is special this year. Celebrating a little later this year because of a procedure I am having done, but making NewYears Eve our Christmas Day with family. That is all I need for Christmas my family. Can’t tell you how lucky I am! Merry Christmas hope you all get to spend it with family❤️

  31. Christmas day with out daughter is my favorite Christmas event, but, I would like to mention that in our town, the local veterans hold a Christmas parade every year. The parade starts at 6PM, dark, which allows for the floats and displays to shine bright. This is how Santa arrives in our town. Bundle up, as this is East Central Iowa, and it is cold! But the chili supper following will cure that for you.

  32. My favorite thing is to see how the neighborhood has decorated for the season. It is so interesting to see how different people intrerpret the Christmas season. We go from the ridiculous to the real reason for the season, the birth of Jesus. I also love to play Christmas music and spending time with the family which has been in short supply due to the Covid,

  33. My Favorite Decoration are my ornaments. Each one holds such special memories or meanings of events in our lives. From the glass balls we bought with a gift certificate we received for our wedding almost 25 years ago or the handmade ones my children made to the ones we have collected from various trips through the years. All our ornaments are memories of our lives together.

  34. My favorite Christmas decoration is the ceramic Christmas tree my mother made for me many, many years ago. Even more precious this year as it will be our family’s first Christmas without mother.

  35. My favorite Christmas decoration is the collection of fpp tree ornaments that I add to each year. I make a dozen or so and send them to dear friends and family in a Christmas card. They dominate my tree these days and one friend creates a small tree just for my ornaments.

  36. My husband and I got married Dec 19. That is my favorite day of the whole year! He had children that lived with him, but would be going to their mother’s for the school holiday so we got married the first Saturday of their school vacation so they could be in the wedding but then be gone for two weeks so we could honeymoon.

  37. Our college in town does a beautiful Christmas concert the first weekend of Advent. That al ways starts our holiday.

  38. Our community grew from the building of Fort Concho in 1867, which still stands. So, my favorite Christmas event is “Christmas at Old Fort Concho” in San Angelo, Texas held the 1st weekend in Dec. There are parades, a pancake breakfast, gingerbread houses, people dressed in period costumes, crafts, and oh, so much more. I used to be a sponsor of the Czech house and would decorate all the rooms with natural elements (example: mesquite beans sprayed silver for icicles on the tree). It really puts you in the mood for Christmas!

  39. It’s just not Christmas until the tree goes up and is fully decked out. I love to just sit and look at the lit tree at night, or early in the morning after my son leaves for school!

  40. My favorite Christmas event is when we take a family evening to visit the Zoo Lights. We don’t do it every year so it’s a special occasion.

  41. My favourite Christmas event was when the kids were little. We would drive around town looking at all the beautiful lights and decorations. Then back home for hot chocolate and cookies (leaving a few for Santa of course). Friends would drop by and there would be lots of fun, food and laughter. All that was a long time ago and this year I’ll be doing it all with grandchildren. I’m so excited.

  42. Hi Pat! One of my favorite Christmas decorations are my pillar candles wrapped in a rings of Holly, oh, and the big Holly spray that hangs above our front door each year! I have to share both, decor & event! 🙂 My favorite events are the grandchildren’s Christmas Concerts & Plays, and… driving to downtown Detroit, with a couple of my adult daughters, to visit the beautiful shops & vendors at the Eastern Market and enjoying all the lights! Sorry, December is so full of Lights, Decorations and Events it is impossible for me to choose one favorite! Hahaha

  43. One of the things that I enjoy the most about Christmas is baking with my daughter and preparing everything for the Christmas Eve party that we have for our family. Last year we couldn’t have the party because of COVID so everyone is especially looking forward to it this year. My mother passed away on Christmas Eve in 2014 so having family around on this day means so much to me.

  44. Favorite event, by far, is my family gathering together and celebrating life.
Favorite decoration is my Santa collection. Each year it is such a joy to remember where each came from and place on my mantle.

  45. Christmas is always such a great time of the year for my family. Our best tradition was setting up the tree. The sight of my husband being “helped” by two little boys to get the lights up on the tree is one that I love to remember. Interestingly, it was always me that did the rest of the decorations until the boys had girlfriends and then I finally got my own helpers.

  46. My favourite part of Christmas is spending time with family and friends. Covid has really limited our social circles/activities and so when we do spend time with others during the holiday season we really appreciate how much not they bring to us. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.
