My favorite holiday event is going to Midnight Mass with my family and if you get there early enough we sing Christmas Carol’s. My favorite decoration is the Christmas tree with tons of twinkling white lights and all the pretty ornaments we have collected over the years and some that have been passed down through the family.
My favorite Christmas event / tradition is baking cookies and other holiday cooking with my granddaughter.. she loves to decorate cookies and help with the cooking .. little ones make the season so fun
I have an old Santa statue that my grandmother bought for me a year before she passed away. It is always in a place of honor at my house during the holidays.
Everything about Christmas is special at our house. Making time to be together as a family, baking sugar cookies with the grandboys. But one unexpected tradition started with my son-in-law several years ago. He used to make almond bark treats with his mother. She passed away before he and our daughter were married. So I now have the honor of making these with him.
My favorite Christmas Event is attending the annual Lighting of the Trees at a local hospital where donations are collected by Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in memory of a loved one who has passed on. It started as only a few trees but now is hundreds of bushes, trees, and lighted branches. It is magnificent and ushers in the holiday season.
My favorite Christmas event is heading to a small local farm who hosts a Swedish Christmas event every year! The farm store has a wonderful smorgasbord with all my favorite Christmas treats, handcrafted Scandinavia ornaments and super yummy cookies and hot cup of spiced glugg! After we head to our local candy shop to purchased handmade candy canes, so good! Last stop is to another local farm to purchase our Fraiser fir Christmas tree. The best part of all is spending this special event with my husband as celebrate our shared Scandinavia heritage. This is my favorite date with my husband each year!
My favorite Christmas event is decorating the Christmas tree. My daughters and I would put on Christmas music, make hot chocolate and talk about each ornament as it went up on the tree. They have their own homes and trees now, but I still invite them to help me.(They mostly drink hot chocolate and watch me but I’m happy with that too)
My favorite Christmas event when younger was the midnight candlelight service at my small church. It was magical……. some years the snow would be falling from the night sky, and the familiar faces inside were lit by candlelight. We would share our own candle flame at the end of the service while singing Silent Night. All of the other ways we celebrated led to this event, and I find myself wishing to return to those small-town roots and traditions.
My favorite Christmas Tradition is getting a real tree! My husband and I have been married 38 years and we have always had a real tree! Except last year with COVID. We werenβt able to get one. So Iβm looking forward to going out to get our tree. I know it makes a mess. But itβs a good mess! Thank you for showing us your house decorations and beautiful Quilts displayed. Have a beautiful Christmas!!!
My favorite holiday event is going to see The Nutcracker! I used to do ballet π©° also my husband (then my boyfriend) was a Party dad to my party mom my junior year of high school.
The year my oldest child turned two years old, I made a nativity out of fabric, yarn and a few beans for weight so all would stand. When the baby Jesus was missing I asked my daughter if she had seen him. She then pulled the baby Jesus from her pocket, just to show me, and put him back in her pocket. Precious memories. Forty-eight years now, and that nativity continues to sit on the piano every Christmas.
My favorite holiday decoration is a light up star that sits on my mantle. I enjoy shopping all year long for gifts for the holidays.
My favorite holiday event is the Christmas Eve service at our church. The children present the Nativity and the service closes with everyone holding a lit candle while singing Silent Night.
My favorite decoration is a Native American nativity set that my mother-in-law brought back from New Mexico.
Hi Pat! My favorite part of the holidays is a cookie baking marathon that I do with my daughter. She lives about 3 hours away, takes a day off from work and we bake and bake for 2 days! Last year she bought us cookie baking tee shirts and this year I made us cookie baking aprons. Iβm so lucky to have her in my kitchen! We bake lots and solve all the world problems in those 2 days! Merry Christmas to you and the shipping department!
In my more seasoned years I have come to really enjoy the candlelight services at church. It is a time to go and remove myself from all the hoop-la of the goings on and to focus on the real reason for the season, Jesus’ birth, and when they turn out the overhead lights and only candlelight is burning it just overwhelms me and eases my heart with love and thankfulness
I love my Christmas tree because I have homemade ornaments from all the girls in the family (my mother, sister, sister in laws, nieces a great niece) through the years that they have made. looking at the ornaments brings back memories of years past.
My favorite Christmas item is anything red and white. And, having my family on Christmas Day for food, fun, presents, and watching Home Alone (a tradition).
My favorite holiday decorations are the traditional colored large bulb outdoor lights my husband wraps around our split rail fence outside. He first wraps the rails with pine roping. After a snowfall itβs simply gorgeous with the muted colored lights shining through the snow.
I have a ceramic nativity set that always brings memories for me. It is so large it covers the entire lid of our grand piano and is done in light shadings of blue and decorated with beads, stones and other shiny baubles. It was made in the early 70βs by my Mother. It brings me warm memories as I watch the different light reflections. It also makes me feel closer to my beloved husband who played so beautifully. He always loved the β music of Christmasβ and I can hear him playing as I reflect on the real reason for Christmas thru the birth of Jesus Christ as represented in the presentation of the nativity
Even tho they are both no longer here (my husband died in 2001 and Mom in 2017) I love the warm feelings brought thru the nativity
My favorite Christmas decoration is a Santa wall-hanging I made with blocks from a guild exchange. My favorite Christmas event is the service of Lessons and Carols that my church has each year close to Christmas.
Thank you for all you do and share. Your prize bundle is sure full of special treats and would be wonderful for who ever wins.
My church does a live drive through nativity. We put it on the second weekend of December. It has been going on for over thirty years.
The drive through tells of Jesus from birth through resurrection. We have live animals and people playing all parts. It is wonderful.
My favorite event is Christmas dinner with my family. My favorite decoration is the tree. So many memories with each dinner and each ornament. Some ornaments purchased from a special trip, some made by children and grandchildren, some gifted and some just because.
My favorite decorations are my snowman collections set out in villages’
My favorite Christmas event is the chorale at our church and my favorite decorations are my Santa collection and of course my Christmas quilts!
My new favorite is seeing The Nutcracker. I took my granddaughter for her first time, and my first viewing in probably over 50 years.
My favorite Christmas decoration is my gnome collection. I love whimsical things and the little gnome characters are my ultimate favorite. They are just soooooo cute.
Christmas is very low-key in our home. There is just me and my grandson here. We have a small tree that comes out of the box with twinkle lights and round shine discs that pick up the light, already on it. It may not be much to others, but we do enjoy it. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas.
My favorite Holiday decoration is my tree, I love Christmas trees. I also love getting my quilts on the beds for every holiday, and yes I do quilts for every holiday and season. Linda
My favorite holiday event was when my grandmother made matching flannel pajamas for all of her grandchildren at Christmas! I must have been 12 or so. There were 9 of us! Wow, the bolts she must have used! Iβm lucky enough to have her sewing machine and just had her serviced. Sheβs ready to go! A beautiful memory and a beautiful grandmother. Very blessed indeed. Have a super holiday Pat and thank you for all you do. Sandy
My favorite thing about Christmas is seeing the excitement in my great-grandchildren. They are 4 and 2 with lots of energy and wonder. Bless you and I hope you and Greg have a good Christmas.
My favourite event is getting all my family together for dinner on Christmas Day – the only day we all manage to b together.
A lovely peaceful day to enjoy each otherβs company.
My favorite Christmas event is going to see the Nutcracker Ballet. I never get tired of hearing that musical score.
Thanks for the fun giveaway.
Carol B
The tree is my favorite while decorating it can remember where and who the ormnaments were from. I put up my in laws tree in sun room with all her ornaments on it from many years of collecting. The kids called it the people tree since it has drummer boys etc on it. the kids still love seeing it every year. Also like to put up xmas quilts .
My favorite Christmas event was baking cookies with my Father’s Mother, Grandma Whitmer. Every year, we made many different types of cookies. Various decorated, plain, and no-bake varieties. To this day, in my mind, I can still see and smell Grandma’s kitchen full of cookies. Such a wonderful memory!
My favorite decoration, has definitely seen better days. It is the angel, we bought to put on the top of our tree, 36 years ago. My children have since named it, with all of the middle names of my five daughters, and she resides in a box, wrapped in a cloth diaper, from years gone bye. We listed the years out through 2025, with each childβs name beside a year, and that is who places her on top of the tree. Besides my five daughters, I also have three sons, so you only get to put the angel on the top of the tree, once every eight years!π. Needless to say, they have grown up, and are not always here when itβs their turn. Thank you for all you do Pat, I look forward to your videos every day. Glad you are healing.
My favorite event for the Christmas season is a choir concert that kicks off the season after Thanksgiving. I am a member of this choir and it seems to get me in the Christmas spirit and remind me of what the holiday is all about. I love it!
My favorite Christmas decorations are the lights my husband puts up every year on the house. The last few years he has add some of the blow-ups for the grandkids too. He does this in honor of my December birthday.
My fav tradition is making cookies after all in the cookie monster!
I also love making things vs buying things.
It’s more personal!
As a child we used to get together at my grandmothers to make dozens of cookies as gifts to give to friends and family. I continued this tradition with my own children as they were growing up and now my children have continued it with their children. Now that I’m grandma I still get to help. For me, spending time with loved ones making something to share with others continues to be a favorite Christmas holiday tradition.
My favorite Christmas event is baking cookies. The whole family is here helping. We make at least 30 different kinds always trying new ones. We like to make up cookie trays to share with others.
My favorite holiday tradition is our family get together on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day my adult children and grandchildren are able to visit their in-laws and I and my husband chill and enjoy the quiet!!
Is this where to enter the give away?
My favorite Christmas tradition is baking cookies. Instead of shopping on Black Friday, my 2 daughters-in-law, my granddaughter and I baked 5 different kinds of Christmas cookies.
I love getting out my decorations every year and placing them just right around the house. I love baking special treats we donβt make except at Christmas time. Lastly, we host festivus every year. Several couples come over and it is nice to celebrate the season with our friends.
My favorite Christmas event when growing up was the ” Hanging of the Greens” at church – everything was so beautiful and Christmasie – they always had a huge craft show where you could buy all the goodies that everyone made including cookies and baked goods . You knew Santa was on his way when that took place .
My favorite Holiday event is gathering with our children and grandchildren, eating a meal, opening gifts and playing some games. Always precious times.
My favourite Christmas event is my Christmas Luncheon. I invite my 8 best friends and we have a fancy meal then we exchange gifts We play games, with prizes, and I read stories to them. We have such fun!
My favourite Christmas decor consists of bringing out the manger that I made years ago! I made ten mangers, one for each of my 2 sisters, and 3 brothers, and four for my very, very best awesome friends; and, of course I also kept one for myself. I supplied the manger people sets from Costco together with a note that explained the meaning of the big mangers….they were duplicates of the manger my parents brought to Canada, from Belgium…years ago! Needless to say, they were a very welcomed gift by all the receivers! Blessings and Merry Christmas!
My favorite holiday decoration is a wooden stand my son made me that holds my Christmas cross stitches.
