- What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is 18" x 20"
- Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
- Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes! Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
- Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
- Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
- What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
- NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block. I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic. That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

My favorite Christmas thing to do is making cookies with my children and now their children. !
It’s so much fun to see them decorate the cookies.
My favorite Christmas decoration is my Nativity Scene with a homemade barn that my Daddy made for me when I was a young and broke mom! The original barn was cheaply made but the ceramic figurines are all beautiful and it brings back loads of memories to bring out something my Daddy made every year especially now the he and Mom are no longer with us. Very high on my list of favorites are the Christmas recipes handwritten by my Mom and Grandma!! I love pulling them out to cook with them.
My favorite it Christmas Eve at my daughter and son-in-law’s home. He is Italian so we do the 7 fishes, actually only 5, but it brings the entire family together With married children living in various cities and states it seems to be the one time we are all together. Plus the food is very good!!!!!
My favorite Christmas tradition is the holiday music. I play my husband’s colection of 33 Christmas themed records every day from Thanksgiving till the 25th!!!
I love to bake cookies while listening to Christmas music. We’ve all got our favorite “must haves” so it’s two days of solid baking!
My favorite day is Christmas Eve when we celebrate with family and friends.
My favorite Christmas event is sewing Christmas tree blocks and decorating them.
The Christmas event my family loves is looking at Christmas light displays.
My favorite decorations are the ornaments my children made each year during elementary school. They bring back so many wonderful memories
I grew up Jewish, though very secular, and while we had a tree every year, it was jokingly called the Hanukkah bush. I moved away from my parents’ house over 40 years ago, but I still put up a Hanukkah bush every year. It’s my favorite way to kick off the holidays, and every year I knit a tiny ornament to go on the tree
My favorite decoration is always the angel on top of the Christmas tree!
That is my favorite event also! The next best thing is making the Christmas Stollen for Christmas morning breakfast and roasting Cornish Hens with all of the trimmings!
The very best would be if all the kids and grandchildren were with us to do this!
One of my favorite Christmas things is a live rendition of the birth of our father, Jesus.
It is real people and real animals, at the town of Bethlehem. Just like you stepped back in time.
Love it!
Merry Christmas Pat!
My favorite holiday decoration is watching my daughters house come together for Christmas. She and her two daughters love this hioliday and go all out with decorations, trees, lights,, stockings…everything they can find. Their joy gives me joy.
My favorite holiday decoration and tradition is to display our collection of nut crackers and our very old nativity set which is the one I grew up with. On Christmas eve, we work a Charlie Brown Christmas puzzle that has shape sizes for adults and children. It is delightful to work with our granddaughters. Blessings to you and Greg!
Christmas Eve with my extended family.
My favorite Christmas event is baking cookies with my great grandchildren and then putting up the Christmas tree. This year I put up the tree by myself; hopefully I can bake with them this weekend. So when they are not here I love to piece quilt tops an am learning to do my own quilting on my Brother sewing machine. Thank you Pat for sharing your knowledge; you are so talented. You continue to be in my prayers that your healing/recovery are quick through the will of God.
I have enjoyed making the weekly quilt blocks. I usually work with just one block per quilt. It is coming out beautiful. THANKS.
My favorite Christmas decoration is my Nativity set, along with a rustic stable. It is lighted and is the centerpiece of a table as you enter our home. All of the grandchildren, and now the great-grandchildren, have loved moving the pieces around the stable. It is a great teaching tool, too.
Hi Pat, glad your feeling better. My favourite holiday is Christmas, even if you are short on cash you can always make it special. It’s all about counting your blessings and family not about gifts. My favourite decorations are all my quilts and accessories I had made 20 years ago from Nancy Halvorcens pattern books including a couple of panels. Love them all, merry Christmas to you and Greg🎄
My favorite is baking Christmas cookies.
My favorite decoration is my Charlie Brown Christmas tree. My family has decreased to one, me, so lots of decorations are not required. The Charlie Brown tree sits in the kitchen by the sewing room, where most of my activities occur and it is within sight at all times. Love ya!
I loved going to Christmas Eve midnight Mass as a favorite holiday event. Loved all the candles, the spectacular music, everyone dressed up and in a great mood, the beautiful greenery all around the church. My favorite decoration is the tree, with ornaments I’ve collected over the years, a million lights, and not some antiseptic designer tree.
Thanks for all you do, Pat! You are a day brightener each morning.
My favorite Christmas event is putting up the Christmas tree. My favorite decorations in general are all the Christmas lights!
I love so many things, but I have to say that my favorite Christmas decorations are ornaments, whether I put them on the tree or elsewhere in the house. I give ornaments every year to all the family and close friends. And a close second is that I have to have a nativity (or 10-LOL) of various sizes (mostly small) from different countries or cultures, around the house! And the third would be lights, particularly fairy lights. They make everything sparkle and shine and illuminate beauty. My favorite event, although I don’t get to do it every year, is to go to the boat parade down in Newport Beach, here in Southern California. It’s only about 30-40 minutes away (when not in rush hour traffic). The boats are decorated with lights (one of my favorite decorations) and all sorts of fun things. It’s a wonderful and cheerful night, sipping hot cocoa or an adult bevy, wrapped in our warm clothes and mittens. Merry Christmas to you and Greg and all the friends that follow you. 🙂
My favorite Christmas event is the Christmas Eve Vigil Mass, followed by watching classic Christmas movies with my family. Merry Christmas!
My favorite holiday event is baking Christmas cookies to share with family and friends. Pat, thanks for the giveaway and for all you do for us all year long. I’ve been watching you since the pandemic began… your daily videos are so helpful and inspiring! Looks like you are healing beautifully, best wishes for you and Gregg this holiday season!
I’m amazed at all the responses you get back when you promt these questions 🙂 My favorite holiday decoration (s) are the hand prints made of clay from my 30 year and 27 year old sons. They are so adorable and precious, and now I have little grand kid prints to measure them up against. so sweet!
This giveaway looks so amazing…I’m a planner gal so I couldn’t resist entering, and that fabric – just wonderful. Anyway, my answer is a favourite decoration. I’m 66 the week before Christmas and the decoration I’m going to describe has been with me since 1975 when my first son was born!! It’s a little santa that has cling on arms. We always had a real tree and it was our tradition to have him hug the topmost branch just under the star topper. I’ve passed it on to my son now, for his children to enjoy. Not son number one, but to my youngest son (I have 4, and 2 girls) That little santa is rather worse for wear now but he puts it on his tree every year!! I suppose that makes hanging the santa an event, so a two in one entry. Have a lovely Christmas Pat – you and Mr Shipping Department (Greg), and may your next year bring you blessings and all you wish for. Love Maggie. x
favorite holiday is making Christmas cutout cookies and other cookies with the grandkids and great grandkids. Hopefully memories they will remember for years
My favorite decorations are my angel collection. The last angel my mother gave me before she died is always put in the middle of my Advent wreath.
My favorite is baking sugar cookies and putting the tree up!
My favourite event over the Christmas holidays is lunch on St Stephens Day. Leftovers are always best the day after Christmas! Family is always very relaxed. It’s great
My favorite Christmas event is decorating the Christmas trees. As a family my favorite is playing pingpong or poker or both. We also play games with the kiddos.
My favorite Christmas things are anything snowman and being with my family and friends
I have a collection of different Santa’s and love to decorate with these every year. Some years I put out a few and some years I put them all out. It’s so much fun!
Hi Pat! My favorite decoration has to be the tree. It looks so pretty lit up, and just has the ability to reflect Christmas magic. I have a cut-out cookie recipe, and making and decorating those cookies each year with the family has to be my favorite event.
Making memories and baking with the family.
Thank you for all you do for us. Merry Christmas to you!
My favorite event is baking weekend with my sisters!
At Christmas, I love decorating my Dining Room Table with my Christmas runner and placemats with tree napkins, that were made by Quilters in the Quilt group I belonged to. I enjoy them every year. I have a little tree, I decorate with wooden ornaments that my Husband made on the lathe or did some scroll saw work on. I enjoy baking cookies, and other treats, too.
My favorite Christmas decorations are the house lights and three decorated Christmas trees my son comes and puts up on my house the day after Thanksgiving every year since I no longer climb the ladder.
Hi Pat love watching you everyday.
My favorite decoration is the nativity scene. I have 3 now and enjoy seeing all the different ways they are made.
My favorite decoration is an advent calendar made many years ago. When the kids were small they enjoyed untieing the piece of candy counting down the days until Christmas.
My favorite Christmas decoration is a red and white glass ornament with white fringe on it from the 60s. It was my dad’s favorite childhood ornament and now it has a permanent home on my tree every year. It reminds me of all of the wonderful memories I have with him and to be grateful he is in my life.
Favorite Christmas decorations are the knitted Father Christmas and Elf that I knitted this year
My favorite holiday event is spending time with my husband, children, and our dogs. This year my kids’ life partners will have their first experiences making gingerbread, building gingerbread houses, baking and decorating cookies, and making chocolate truffles and peanut butter bon bons. A week together making family meals, goodies, game nights, and long walks will be our gifts to one another.
My favorite Christmas decorations are the little homemade ornaments that my girls made when they were little. (My girls are now 40 and 34 years old) It is so much fun to look back and remember those times!
I love driving at night and seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations.
Christmas Eve candlelight service at church is my favorite event. As we light our candles and sing “Silent Night”, the true meaning of the season touches my heart.
My favorite event at Christmas time has always been Christmas Eve Church, the carols, the lighting, as a child the snow driving to church, participating as a teen and as an adult. Then coming home to he Christmas tree all lit up and waiting for the morning. Jesus has always been our main focus and now I make a Birthday cake for him every year and we sing Happy Birthday.
My favorite Christmas decoration is the Nativity giving to me by my mom 40+ years ago. Always first out and last put away.
