  1. My favorite Christmas decorations are the Thomas Kincade ornaments, and plates. Along with a Nativity set with large statues of the Holy family, the three kings, shepherd, sheep, camels, donkey, oxen, Angel’s, and an elephant all painted in jewel colors that my aunt gave me.

  2. I love, love, lovethe old Christmas music I grew up with, Perry Como,Burl Ives, Gene Autry,my children grew up listening to them and I think they still do and the movie A Christmas Story. Merry Christmas everybody.

  3. My favorite Christmas Event besides Christmas Day is Christmas Eve! When I was a child, we always opened our stockings on Christmas Eve. Whatever was in the stocking was all ours on Christmas Eve. My husband had never heard of this. So when our daughter was born in 2004 I started the tradition with her! She has loved it ever since and whenever I joke that we aren’t going to open stockings on Christmas Eve this year but wait until Christmas, everyone goes crazy and insists that they are opened on Christmas Eve! That is our special event that we all love and cherish in our home!

  4. I’m so glad you on on the mend. I look forward to your videos everyday. Thank you. Please enter me in your giveaway. My favorite Christmas decoration our two tree skirts I made. One I made a long time ago and the other one two years ago.

  5. I enjoy Christmas dinner because it is one of the few times I can spend time with both of my sons. Sometimes we have spent two hours just talking after finishing our meal. There is always lots of laughter happening.

  6. I have my grandmas Nativity set, she made it herself as she did many ceramics when my mom was a girl and was amazing at it. I loved helping her set it out when I was a girl and then decorating around it. It’s mine now and I love getting it out and remembering as I decorate.

  7. I made a wreath from our grapevines on our property. Every season I look for natural things outside to decorate it with. There are lots of red berries this year so that will look great with some greens.

  8. My favorite event is hiking with my son. He takes me to the forest every year to pick out the perfect tree. Several years ago he gave me a glass owl ornament made in Germany. It’s my favorite decoration.

  9. My favorite Christmas decoration are the cross stitch ornaments my mother made and gave to me. She spent months making each of her daughters and grandchildren a set of 6 beautifully detailed ornaments. They look beautiful on my tree and are a wonderful reminder of the love she always had for her family. Always especially miss her and my dad this time of year.

  10. My favorite Christmas decor is in Michigan. I am a snowbird and we have a very small place which is being upgraded. I miss my wall hangings which I made last year with your patterns. Due to impending upgrades, I haven’t even had a chance to set up my sewing room so we are left with left overs from the previous owner. It will do til we can make it our own.
My favorite Christmas event is “Hanging of the Greens at our home church in Michigan.

  11. My favorite Christmas decoration, is the ceramic nativity set that my mom bought for me when we were first married. It was unpainted and I worked on it each December for quite a few years. It has been done for many years now, and though we now have 5 children, and 9 grandchildren, it still looks great!

  12. My favorite decoration is the ceramic 30-piece Nativity Scene that I painted in 1980. I also loving putting up my Christmas tree with the white Crocheted ornaments my Mom made for me. They are very special to me since she passed away in 2018 so I won’t get any more from her. Going to Christmas Eve service at Church is the event I look forward to.

  13. My favorite Christmas event is the drive-through Living Nativity my church puts on every year on the second weekend of December. It is set up in the parking lot and depicts Jesus’ life from the angel visiting Mary to the open tomb. Even though we are in our 70s, my husband and I have participated every year for several years. We dress as characters in Jesus’ time and are out in the cold for two hours each night, but it leaves you with a sense of the real meaning of Christmas each year and is our way of reaching people who might never darken a church door with the message of Christ.

  14. I love to bake the Christmas goodies from my Scandinavian heritage. Today I am making shortbread cookies, and tonight I will make krumkake. This weekend I will put together a small kransekake to take to a family gathering on the 14th. In between, I love to listen to great classical instrumental Christmas music. That all soothes my soul, along with the quilting I am always working on. Quilting is my cold weather therapy and gardening is my summer therapy. Both work to keep me mentally and physically well. I love your tutorials and blog posts.

  15. Favorite is the Christmas stockings. I have made 17 over the years. Each one is personal to the family member.

  16. My favorite decoration is an Advent Calendar my mom sewed back in the late 70s. It has little pockets with the numbers 1-25 embroidered on them and a big pieces and quilted Christmas tree in the middle. Very retro Christmas fabrics were used. My siblings and I used it and now my kids get to use it. So fun!

  17. My favorite holiday decoration is my ceramic Christmas tree that I inherited from my grandmother. I look forward to having it out each year. My favorite event is Christmas Eve service at church with music and candles.

  18. My favorite decoration is this years Christmas garden on the coffee table. It is a happening. Houses from the thrift store. Match box cars from husbands train lay out. Trees from hardware store. It has tea litghts and a little fence. I will add a lite border. We found a tiny Santa and who knows what else will be added. But it is fun. Merry Christmas to all and God bless.

  19. My favorite holiday decoration is a nativity scene that I got in Thailand, when we visited. ITs made from a cracked celadon and it reminds me that Jesus is the reason why we celebrate Christmas, not just here in the US but all over the world.

  20. My favorite Christmas decoration is the tree ornament my mother and I bought at a craft fair, a gold dove. Every year I put it near the top and wish for peace in the world, at home and within myself. I remember her and all of the wonderful things she taught me.

  21. Hi Pat, I so enjoy watching you each day. You are so positive and encouraging. I love Christmas and have many snowmen and snowflakes around for decorating. I love to go to a Christmas play like A Christmas Carol each year and I enjoy just watching favorite Christmas movies and drinking a cup of Christmas tea. Thank you for all that you do and share with us all. I am looking forward to the spring sew along.

  22. I love driving around looking at Xmas lights it’s my husband and my birthdays great time of the year

  23. I have two favorite decorations I do every year. The Christmas tree with ornaments of our travels, ornaments I have received from friends and I buy an ornament every year. It is a hodgepodge but so many memories. Mt other favorite is my nativity set I bought after I was married many, many years ago. My father-in-law made a beautiful wood stable for it. My father-in-law has been gone 23 years now, so it is very special.

  24. My favorite Christmas Event is setting up the Advent Wreath as that means Christmas is coming. We light the candle or candles as the weeks go by every morning until Christmas. Then the next is the tree, after that is up the sewing machine gets a real work out finishing up all the quilting projects that are supposed to go under it. Some don’t quite make it and end up being gifted later in the year but the Christmas season is my favorite time of the year.

  25. I am loving the Fall Frolic and can’t wait for Sweet Dreams to begin!
My favorite thing to do during the Christmas season is to tour lights especially those set up in community parks. One of my favorites of all time is in Crystal Christmas in Woodward, OK. We took our first grandson to see the lights at Crystal Beach 17 years ago when he was a baby. I’ve toured several in Missouri including Versailles and Laurie when we lived in Eldon. We are south of the KC metro area now and a group of us cousins did a tour through Paola and Spring Hill. What a fun time sharing hot cocoa and goodies!

  26. My favorite decoration is the lights on my Christmas tree. Lots and lots of lights. The more the better! I sit in the quiet and otherwise dark room and enjoy the view. The lights represent the light of Christ that is inside each one of us.
    Thanks for the giveaway
    Merry Christmas!

  27. My favorite part is wrapping my grandmother’s Poinsettia quilt around the base of my Christmas tree. My children loved that part too. I have passed the quilt to my daughter who want to carry the tradition on with her daughter.

  28. My favorite part of Christmas is our kitchen table covered with homemade candies and baked goods. No better way to spend time than in the kitchen making goodies for all to enjoy. Thanks for all you share and the give away.

  29. Hi Pat,
My favorite Christmas event is the Christmas Eve service at church. It is always very sweet and brief. We sing a few simple, well-known carols and someone reads the Christmas story from Luke. Families with younger children often bring them in their Christmas PJs. Some years we have silent Christmas Eve and you are invited in for a few minutes to just sit quietly and listen to music then leave when ready. Afterwards, when the kids were home, we would go get hot chocolate and drive around looking at Christmas lights. I think my husband and I will do that again this year – just us – before the kids come Christmas Day.
    Thanks for reminding me!
    Beth Wilson

  30. My Favorite tradition is decorating our Christmas with our family. The last two years we’ve had the pleasure of having our grandson help us. It’s so fun to see all the ornaments hanging 2 feet up from the floor. Last year I moved some up after he left, next time he came he noticed and Grandma had to move them back. LOL

  31. My favorite Christmas event is decorating a gingerbread house with the grandkids, We use a kit, but we have a lot of fun, listening to carols & decorating the houses. They each get one & decorate it how they like. It just a great way to spend a snowy afternoon!

  32. Hi Pat. Happy Holidays. I would like to tell you a couple of my favorite Christmas decorations. My first choice would be my Santa Christmas mugs. Have had these since I was a little girl. I have a ceramic Raggedy Ann and Andy Christmas ornament . I so look forward to these every year. Baking sugar cookies this afternoon while the snow is falling outside. Love the season. 🎄

  33. I only get to see all my children at the same time every year and that is at Christmas time. My special event is we all go to the coast and play Myong around the dinning room table. The first time we started this was when my eldest daughter was 8 years old and she is now 36. The amount of competition when they play is incredible. I just love that. Wishing you and Greg a wonderful peaceful holiday. Hugs

  34. My favorite Christmas decoration(s) are my nutcrackers. I have 11 of them so far and I always buy a new one each year. I also love my snowmen.

  35. My favorite Christmas decorations are called “Old World” ornaments. They are very similar to the vintage German glass ornaments from the turn of the centruy in looks & are beautifully made. They sparkle fantastic under the twinkle lights on my tree and I absolutely love each & every one. Each year I add a new one to the collection. They used to be priced reasonably, but are now harder to find and they can be more than my budget allows, so I am glad I found most of mine when they were reasonably priced. Each year when I unpack them, it is like seeing an old friends you have missed.

  36. My favorite holiday decoration and event are in fact what we put up Thanksgiving day. After we stuff ourselves with Turkey, Cornbread Dressing and all the fixings, we decorate the Christmas Tree. We have a few special ornaments like the RV bus we got one year and it’s painted a lot like the real one in our back yard. Another favorite one Is the pontoon boat that we thought would be a replica of the boat my husband would get but, he fooled us and got a nice fishing boat instead. Lol. I think the final decoration that I love is the one my daughter made in first grade. It’s a little wooden bear with paint scribbled on it. She had a good color sense even back then. It has blues and purples and looks awesome in all it’s scribbled glory. Lol.

  37. My favorite Christmas event was going home to my family each year. At the time I lived over 320 miles away, so I didn’t make it home much during the year. But Christmas was special, and my brothers and I always made a special effort to be with my parents. We made so many wonderful memories with the grandkids playing together, eating, eating, and eating some more and just visiting with each other. Some years we played in the snow, and some years we had 60 degree weather. After Christmas day, my Mom, my sisters-in-law and I would hit the clearance sales, and my Dad and brothers would do some outside project while the kids played some more. Sadly, my parents and my brother are no longer with us and my other brothers all live miles and miles away, but the memories all stay in my heart and bring us back together in spirit each year.

  38. My favorite holiday decoration is an ornament that I remember being on my grandmother’s Christmas tree when I was a child Whenever I put it on the tree it brings back wonderful childhood memories of Christmas at her house!

  39. My favorite Christmas item is our Advent calendar made by a group of German ladies. It is burlap with a felt tree on it. Then each pocket has a handmade ornament in it to place on the tree. My kids , my grandkids and now my great grandchildren along with my husband and myself all enjoy this tradition.

  40. My favorite event for Christmas time, is making tamales with my family. Sometimes we have alot of family Sometimes it is scarce, we still make them and enjoy them…Family gets busy hard to coordinate our time…
    Continued Prayers for healing Pat…

  41. I really look forward to a special dinner with my mom and son every Christmas Eve. It’s our tradition and as we get older I enjoy that special time more and more. Merry Christmas everyone!
