I was fortunate to go to Germany for my young daughter’s medical appointment while we were stationed in Greece. We loved their cookies. Recently, I was introduced to German red cabbage cooked with apples. Yum!

Yes, I lived in Germany for 3 years way back in the late 80s when I was in the Air Force. Lebkuchen is my favorite German food. We were just in Germanythis summer on a river cruise and you can buy it year round in Nuremberg now. I did subscribe to your substack newsletter.

is a cake my aunt would make for me Frankfurter Kranz.

I have not been to Germany but I have a quilt that lives there. I gifted them a quilt when there first child was born. It was Pat’s Jelly Roll Sizzler pattern. Turn out great! They loved it.

family. My Grandmother used to make a wilted lettuce salad with bacon that was yummy. I’m looking forward
to trying these cookies!

My Grandmother made lebkuchen cookies along with springerlies and both have been my most favorite cookies. I have tried making them in the past but they don’t taste as good as Grandma’s. I haven’t had Grandma ‘s cookies in way over 50 years and I miss them every season

The cans are all pretty, my favorites are the green ones, both the large with the angels and the small one with the scene.
