** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. I love brownies too! Fully loaded 🙂 Chocolate chips, walnuts, even peanut butter chips! I enjoy all types of brownies: cake-like, chewy, fudgie. You name it, I love it! lol You’re brownie pan is amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it! Have a great day 🙂

  2. Love almost anything sweet but brownies are a favorite. I make one with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting although it makes a sheet pan which means I don’t make them very often. So I just make another recipe and then top them with semi sweet morsels when they come out of the oven. Just adds a bit more chocolate which in my mind is never a bad thing!
Waiting on my fabric to arrive but can’t wait to start! The block today was very pretty.

  3. Love brownies, our family favorite is Peanutbutter brownies frosted with creamy peanutbutter and then chocolate frosting.

  4. I love brownies. I have an insert bought at good will that makes each brownie an edge one. Hard to wash. I usually use a mix as well. So excited to start this new mystery. Happy New Year to all.

  5. Hi, Pat. My first baking experience when I was very young was brownies. OUr family had 2 kinds of brownies we favored — Blond Brownies, and Chocolate Brownies. These were my mom’s recipes, of course, and wouldn’t you know it — both recipes have been lost for decades. And, yes, I would love to have the goodie bag you are offering. The fabric is beautiful.

  6. I love brownies…I use a pan that has 12 squares so you also get all those edges…I love mixing in pecans and if I find them the Carmel chips mix in… YUM!!!

  7. Mother of 3 boys, now “men” and full time working mother…I relied on boxed mixes for brownies. I did attempt as an old fashioned baker to make them from scratch, but heck, the mixes were just as good…and FAST…..we are not nut folk but love any extra chocolate….Love your videos you have opened my eyes to different possibilities.

  8. Favorite brownie recipe I use is from “Preppy kitchen “ on YouTube and I toast the walnuts(game changer😋) and sometimes I add Ghirardelli white chocolate chips 🙂

  9. I like brownies. My mother-in-law made really good brownies. I like to go to a local ice cream shop that serves a brownie with ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whip cream. YUM

  10. I love chewy brownies with a crispy edge. Peanut butter brownies are my favorite. This Sweet Dreams project is such a treat at this time of year when there is so much messaging about losing weight. THANK YOU!

  11. Love brownies! I sometimes will substitute unsweetened applesauce for the oil. And we always add walnuts. Love the edges too!

  12. I love brownies, do not have a favorite recipe. Don’t make them often, as I will eat the whole pan! Yes, please, add walnuts! And how about some caramel, too!

  13. Odd person out here! I do not like Brownies. I don’t mind a bit of chocolate, like cookies with a few chips in them but mostly avoid them too. I love the first block you made with the Moonstone fabric line. Your quilt will be a beauty for sure. Have a great day!

  14. I love brownies! We like them chewy and I use pecans in mine. I do have one child who prefers no nuts so I make a few without. I’m not picky about the edge, as long as I get a brownie I’m happy. Would love to win your generous gift. Thanks for all you do.

  15. I don’t eat chocolate, but my family does. I just love the edge pan, I must find one those. Enjoy watching and learning with you!

  16. I love brownies! I use the Ghirardelli mix also. Sometimes I make a chocolate icing and oh my goodness!!! I’ve been sewing for 50 years but I’m new to quilting. I’m excited to make the first Sweet Dreams block. I adore watching you every day. Thank you so much for all that you do. You are an inspiration in so many ways.

  17. I love all brownies- in our house i like the edges and husband likes the inside so it is good here!I do like to make from scratch if I have time- I have quite a collection of recipes!

  18. I love the center brownies that are more soft and gooey, no nuts. And I happen to have some right now in my cupboard that my mom made me the other day, so I think I’ll go grab one. : )

  19. When my daughters were little, we always made brownies for old movie night! I love the edges and they like the middle so we were all happy! We put in extra chocolate chips, and sometimes nuts. Such fun, and sweet memories! I Love your videos and the way you explain your fabric choices it really helps me visualize the options. Thank you

  20. Brownies are not my favorite, but I will eat one once in a while. But I’m NOT an edge person! Lol. I like the middle ones! And walnuts are a must! My Mom always made brownies with Hershey’s syrup. Love your videos each day. I always look forward to them. Thanks, Pat, for all you do!

  21. I love brownies! I put nuts in half after batter is in 9×13 pan, to give everyone a choice of nuts or no nuts!!

  22. We love brownies at my house, typically I use Pilsberrry mix, but will look for Gherrideli. Love watching you each day! Happy New Year!

  23. My daughter makes the best Brownie’s! She doubles up the mixes and adds chocolate chips. She cooks them just enough that they are still a little soft. They are to die for!

  24. I love a big chunk of brownies with walnuts and a glass of cold milk. Yummy. Your fabric choice is beautiful.

  25. I love brownies. When I bake them I leave them a little chewy and I use the Betty Crocker box mixes. Recently, one of my childhood friends posted some of the things we did during summers and I listed baking brownies and that to set off as string of comments. Of course, in our younger years it was the Betty Crocker recipe rather than a boxed mix.

  26. Love brownies! I use any of the box mixes usually on sale. Secret is unwrap a box of Andes mint chocolates and lay across top of warm from-the-oven brownies. Let sit 5-8 minutes then spread with spatula. Cool completely before cutting! They disappear really fast! Thank you Pat, for all you do!

  27. Love brownies- any kind of brownies. There are not bad brownies
Especially good warmed up with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top!

  28. Brownies are the best! I like to make them “fudgy” with walnuts or pecans. I like the idea of adding toasted nuts to the mix- will try! And I like to add frosting to the top as soon as I take them out of the oven!

  29. Brownies! Who doesn’t love chocolate anything especially with nuts? ! Lol. I love the edge pieces. Chewy and delicious.

  30. Brownies?? What’s not to love? The only problem is that I would eat them all the time and my husband is diabetic and he would sneak the yummy ones. There are sugar free box mixes and that is what I stick to most of the time. The only problem is that they don’t rise as well as the others. I will have to try adding some of the sugar free chocolate morsels and nuts.

  31. Brownies are a favorite in our house too. I have made them from scratch but not lately. I use the mix with the chips too. I add pecans because it is the southern thing to do. My tip is to add strong coffee instead of water to bring out the chocolate flavor even more. Sometimes I use instant espresso powder and sometimes I just make a little extra coffee if I know I’ll be making brownies. I use this for chocolate cakes too. It really makes a big difference. When the brownies come out of the oven, sprinkle a bag of chocolate chips over them and let it sit for a few minutes, then spread with a spatula and let them cool. Soooo yummy.

  32. I love brownies and I too love the edges. I’ve seen the pan but you are the first person I ever knew that used it. I am definitely going to get one.

  33. Love Brownies. Wish I had this pan when my 6 kids were growing up. Would have saved so many arguements. The block is great. Look forward to this sew along. Nice give away.

  34. We love brownies. I made them for my grandson last night when he came to supper for – not spaghetti but linguini with chicken scampi. I did not put nuts in but I love nuts in almost everything!! I also use the Ghiradelli with the chocolate chips in. Yummy!!

  35. I like brownies – especially the cake style. I usually make them from a box but almost always have the ingredients on hand to molar them from scratch too. Have you ever had a cookie brownie? It’s chocolate chip cookie on the bottom and brownie on top. It’s not as good as regular brownies or regular cookies on their own, but nice for a change sometimes.

  36. I love brownies and I love this pan! I ordered one so all my pieces will have edges. What’s not to like about brownies. Extra chocolate chips? Of course! With nuts? Yes! Without nuts? Well yes! Add a little coffee and intensify the chocolate. And the goodie bag! I can see a couple kids quilts from the darling fabric. Goody bags are so much fun. I have learned so much from you . Thank you!

  37. LOVE brownies as my 36 inch waist can attest to. Will try your recipe since my brownies can be used to build fortresses (no lie!)
