** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. I also love walnuts in brownies and sometimes use black walnuts for a different taste.
Thanks for all the the great tips.

  2. I like brownies. I made some for New Years Eve. When I was younger, I asked my mom to make them for my Birthday which was a couple of days before Christmas. Box fudge brownies.

  3. Brownies!!!! I agree that the box mixes are a perfect choice. I can say I never had “homemade”. I like to Dr mine up with chocolate chips and nuts (walnut or pecans). Chocolate icing on them is too rich tasting for me, so I skip that. (Although it’s scrumptious.) I’m liking that brownie pan! I’ll have to check it out. The crispy edges are my favorite part!!! Thanks for the sew along Pat! Happy New Year!

  4. Brownies are my favorite dessert. Don’t care for nuts in them though. I love the edges the next day, when they soften up, but chewy… Your video made me hungry today. lol

  5. We LOVE brownies….most of the time I cheat by using a box mix and we have to put mini M&M’s on the top. I LOVE walnuts in my brownies, but no one else does unfortunately. So excited about your giveaway…I’m a newbie and really enjoy listening to your YouTube videos. Happy new Year!

  6. I love that brownie mixes are now offered/sold in Sugar Free varieties. Being a diabetic, this option makes it so I don’t feel denied when I want a special treat.

  7. I love brownies! But, it has to be pecans and not walnuts. I find that walnuts have a more bitter flavour – to me. One of my friend’s made the best banana brownies – they had chocolate frosting, too. Delish! I’m a newbie sewer so I’m still sitting on the fence and haven’t really started the sew-along. I will but I’m still nervous.

  8. I love brownies. I usually make them from scratch. I like to add extras like chips and walnuts. Sometimes I add chopped up Andes mints for a peppermint flavor! And I love the edges! Thanks Pat.

  9. Love brownies but I make from scratch. I also toss in chocolate chips so they’re extra fudgey. And I also make golden brownies.

  10. I have to make this one. You have ne at BROWNIES. Now I just need some ice cream.
I make my brownies with the dough boy.

  11. Not a particular fan of brownies except with some vanilla ice cream. A piece of brownie with nuts a scoop of ice cream a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate hot fudge. yummy!!!
Thanks for the chance to win the goody bag

  12. LOVE the crispy edges of my brownies! I too have that pan so it makes everyone happy!! I do love the walnuts a little bit bigger as well!! YUMMY!!

  13. I enjoy nuts in my brownies for a bit of a crunch. They add so much texture. Also chocolate chips give an even more chocolate flavor.

  14. Love brownies! I usually cook them about 5 min less so they are more chewy…then a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top!

  15. Brownies are a big favorite at my house. I like the soft middle with either ice cream or frosting. A quick to make treat when you need a hug.

  16. I love brownies! No nut please. Lol. And everything but the edges. Lol. Thank you for everything you do!

  17. Brownies are my go-to dessert and my family likes them soft and gooey. I usually bake them about 5 minutes less than recipe calls for and put the pan on top of stove right out of oven. I alway bought Hershey’s 4 pack at Sams Club until I had their already made brownies. It’s actually by Pillsbury and they are better than anything I’ve ever made. They are so soft and chewy and absolutely delicious.

  18. I grew up in a family that loved to bake sweets. Brownies were always a big hit! My daughter only likes middles!
    Here is my recipe:
    1/3 c. Butter
6 Tbsp Cocoa Powder + 2 Tbsp Oil
    2 Eggs
    1 c. Sugar
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    3/4 c. All purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. Salt
    1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
    1 c. Chopped Nuts
Melt the butter, add the Oil. Stir in the Cocoa. Mix until smooth. Add the two well beaten eggs, then add the sugar and vanilla. In a separate bowl stir together the dry ingredients. Add to the Cocoa mixture and mix well. Add the nuts, if you like nuts. Pour into a well-greased 8-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, cool in the pan placed on a cooling rack.Turn out onto a board when cooled and cut into 2″ squares. Makes 16 squares.

  19. Our families are absolutely the same about brownies! It is our go to dessert for EVERYTHING. You will find brownies at every family gathering AND it is the star of birthday parties. Brownies are baked, the whole thing is placed on a platter and candles are stuck in and lit! My husband and three of four children prefer brownie cake for their birthdays.

  20. I really like the No center pan, I always like the edges, but the rest of the family like the not so done centers! I am like you and I enjoy the walnuts added to the brownies as well. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and thought processes with us.

  21. I love to eat brownies depending on the mood I’m in when they have cooled I will sometimes eat the center or I will eat a corner. When I make brownies I like to add chocolate chips, nuts and coffee flavoring. Brownies are my comfort snack, YUM YUM

  22. My husband loves brownies, especially if they are chock full of nuts. Ghirardelli’s is the best chocolate.

  23. We love brownies! Our favorite kinds are black forest cherry, peanut butter, and cream cheese. I am a fan of homemade brownies but when I am busy a mix is great. I bake them is a stone pan so the edges are perfect and the center is gooey.

  24. Great block! Looking forward to the finished product. I like brownies in small quantities. They are typically too rich for me. Thank you for all you do for us Pat!

  25. My husband loves brownies, especially Giardelli triple chocolate. I try not to eat too much chocolate, but I snitch a few edge pieces. I may have to get that pan! This is a great start to Sweet Dreams.

  26. That’s an interesting looking brownie pan. I’m guessing it’s especially for those who enjoy the edges.

  27. We love brownies at our house. Usually use a brownie mix and add chocolate chips. I like the edges, but the others like the middle.

  28. I love brownies! When I make them I put the brownie in a bowl, then put a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream on it and drizzle chocolate syrup over it all. Delicious!!

  29. I grew up making wonderful brownies with HERSHEYS COCOA from scratch, adding chopped walnuts. I know there’s boxed versions from different companies. But there’s no comparison to the flavor and texture you get with Hersheys Cocoa.. I love the delicate top and soft center baked to perfection. I’ll take homemade from scratch every time!

  30. Yes, I love brownies. Use to make homemade, but my husband finds some good sales and stocks up on mixes. Got to have walnuts! I love both the center and ends. Chocolate is my FRIEND.

  31. Hard to imagine a better dessert than brownies! I think I need to try your pan though – the edges are my favorite part. I like the cake-y kind like you do! Making up a batch right now for my DH. Love you Pat!

  32. My husband loves, loves brownies! I make them at least 3-4x a month. For his birthday he likes brownies made into a cake with icing between the layers. Yummy and it keeps him happy!

  33. Love brownies, I add pecans to mine. Im going to make some tomorrow, wish I had that brownie pan.
