My favorite place to stitch is in a campground, I always take a bit of hand stitching along. When my mom & dad came camping with us, mom and I would sit and sew small blocks together by hand, after hiking. Pieces were all cut ahead of time, we made like little kits for ourselves. I miss that time together. It was always a treat when other campers would come visit our site to see what we were doing. It surprises me how many quilters go camping and hiking!

I stitch in my florida room. Beautiful view of my butterfly garden.
I love to stitch while riding in the car. I get bored just sitting but when I stitch the time flies! You always inspire me with quilting but lately I’ve been inspired to get my stitching back out. I always loved to cross stitch. Time to enjoy it again. I need more hours in the day!!!
I stitch early in the morning on the back deck with my coffee in the rocker its the best time of the day.
Hi Pat, Love this goodie bag. I don’t do much traveling and have recently started working a couple of days a week at the local quilt shop, so will have my lunch in the stockroom and do a little stitching, helps to wind down the busy goings on at the shop.

I like to cross stitch in my library where the light is good. On a nice summer day, the screened in porch works very well.
I love to cross stitch in car waiting for my grandkids to be done school. Or in the summer sitting by the pool when it’s quiet
If I am on a cruise my favorite place to stitch is on the balcony. Otherwise, my favorite place is by a window in my sewing room where I can see and hear the birds.
I stitch in the evening when the light is still good near my balcony window. I enjoy listening to audio books while I stitch.
It would have to be in my RV (or sitting at the picnic table at the campground). I’ve taken my sewing machine and hand-stitching projects camping many times.
I love to cross stitch in my favorite chair while watching tv in the evening with my hubby! Quiet way to end the day together.
I keep a small bag in my car at all times. It’s amazing how much I can get done is little bits of time like waiting for grandkids to finish up activities, doctor appointments, ball games during rain outs.
I like to stitch at the park. Sitting on a bench and having the birds chirping and the squirrels running around. And when I look up I see mountains. Very relaxing and breathing fresh air. ❤️ Carmen.
I always look forward to seeing your videos each morning when I arise. Your greeting is so warm, friendly, inviting.
I love to stitch everywhere. It always seems right to stitch or quilt. I love it all. Thanks for you wonderful inspiration.
On our dock at Lake Hartwell, Georgia. I can see all the way to S. Carolina from there!
I stitch in the car while traveling or waiting on some one at docoors and at retreat when can not sew at machine and need a break. hope to win this prize. started cross stitching again in 2020.
I love to stitch on our patio in the early mornings.
In summer I like to sit in the shade on my patio, stitch and watch the birds. In the winter it’s a sunny window seat where I can see the bird feeders.
I got a bunch of long stitching done when my mum was in hospital (while visiting her) that was over 20 years ago.
I also blanket stitchedwhile on a long bus trip once, good way to pass the time.
I haven’t cross stitched for a long time, but am keeping an eye out for a good pattern 😊
My favorite place is beside the camp fire!!
Lately, I have been stitching in the car, under a tree in a parking lot or in the parent room while my son has baseball practice. My favorite was by a lake while watching my sons learn to canoe, kayak, swim and sail. I am enjoying stitching the flea market flowers with you.
I cross stitch a lot and always have at least 3 different projects going!!!! I stitch while we travel back and forth to see our grandchildren that live 4 hours away. I also enjoy stitching out on my deck swing. But my favorite place is in my recliner with good lighting and our cat.
I enjoy stitching while sitting on our screened in deck and listening to the wrens sing and the squirrels chatter.
Stitching when I have time at my place of work is my out of ordinary. I only do it when business is slow. Thank you for your videos Pat!
My out of the ordinary place to stitch is at my kitchen table, because it has the best natural light — and also because I can keep an eye on my hubby who has dementia from that vantage point.
When we go camping, I take my hand quilting and cross stitch and paper piecing with me. I sit out by the fire ring and stitch away. Then at night I sit by my table in the camper and work on stitching. I don’t have a fire going when I’m stitching. Don’t want to be too hot. lol
Oh how fun! I like to stitch on my porch or in the car!
Hi Pat! My favorite place to stitch is on my back patio. I consider it out of the ordinary because I seldom go out there. But on cooler days, it’s been in the 90s here (sigh), it’s refreshing. It’s been awhile since I’ve cross stitched. However, a fun fact: when I made baby quilts for my granddaughters years ago, I cross stitched the labels. The girls still love their quilts and they are now 19 and 21. Thanks for all the fun!
I stitch on my couch while listening to podcasts or utube stitching videos. I wake up to Pat Sloan utube every day!
I love cross stitching on my porch. Since it gets so hot in the summertime in Arizona, I also take advantage of the car rides to town.
I love to take the train from Orlando to Tampa to visit my grandkids. It takes about 2.5 hours, just the time I need to bind a quilt! I use to save up my binding for my train. There’s something about the motion of the train that makes the binding task more pleasurable.
Lately, I have been stitching in hospital rooms, when my husband is sleeping. Otherwise, I do most of my stitching sitting on our couch, as my husband and I watch JAG or Walker, Texas Ranger together.
My favorite place to stitch is on my screen porch, particularly when it’s raining. No TV, no music, just the rain falling. It’s so soothing and so relaxing. Definitely my happy place outside of my quilt room:)
Recently I cross stitched on the beach which wasn’t easy but I did enjoy it. Best if doing one color in a big area of course!
I love to sit and stitch in my recliner with a small table next to it, that holds my supplies and my light. Evenings are my go to stitch time to wind down and just relax.
I just love to stitch! It can be in the car, on my patio, at work, in my recliner, sitting at the park, etc. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
I love to embroidery when I’m camping, also traveling in car
I usually stitch in the car on the way to see my mom who is in assisted living. Just enough time to get a bit done. Then I can show her my progress when I get there. (I’m not drivings, the hubs is.)
I like to stitch on the bench in my backyard with my cat napping beside me. It is shaded and private for us both!
I cross stitch at the Pilates studio after my workout and while I’m waiting for my boyfriend to finish his workout.
I love to stitch outside if weather permits. We have a beautiful patio shaded by a large Maple we planted when our boys were younger and the birds LOVE it!! I also love to sit on our little outdoor couch/bench by our front door and listen to the fountain and watch the birds come for a drink. I ALSO take my stitching camping with us. Since I can’t take my sewing machine I take my cross stitching instead. I contain everything in my project bag and it is SO easy to take along anywhere! I’ve even stitched in my husband’s truck or Jeep while he runs into Home Depot or Menards! 🤣
I like to stitch in the morning in the sunroom or the beach. I do need to schedule more time to stitch. This group reminds me and keeps me on track with some of my projects.
I do most of my stitching in the evenings, sitting in my recliner in the living room. But I also enjoy outside in the swing if the weather is nice.
My favorite place to stitch this time of year, is our back deck. It overlooks the pond. The sights and sounds of nature are very relaxing and comforting to me.
Usually, I stitch in two different places–either in front of my computer or in my comfy chair in the family room. Both places are equipped with a bright magnifying lamp since have a real problem seeing close up things. While in front of the computer, I listen/watch YouTube. There is a bank of windows that lets in more light and I can also hear and watch the birds in my back yard.
I love stitching in the corner of my bedroom late at night. I have a comfortable chair and a good light. It is my alone time. So peaceful.
Outdoors listening to birds chirping and enjoying flowers in the garden.
I like to cross stitch on the balcony and people watch in Cozumel, you never know what you will see! enjoy your day!
I am 91 years old so cannot do much unusual. I have a covered patio that is a lovely place to stich. I am starting Christmas stitching in hopes of having it finished by Christmas.
I love my front porch. Read and hand sew there.
