The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

  1. My favorite quilt is Villages. It is an array of houses made with charm pack squares. It took me over 3 years to complete and I just love it!

  2. My favourite quilt is a stained glass quilt made from my scraps with vibrant colours of the rainbow and black fabric

  3. My favorite quote that I made was for a friends daughter who graduated college. She was a music major, and played piano since she was four., so I made her a quilt with music notes and different types of music fabric. Of course I had to make piano keys for the border. It was a red, white and black quilt. It came out beautiful1

  4. My favourite quilt so far that I have made is the Scrapiness is Happiness sampler Quilt-a-long by Lori Holt. ( I am a newish quilter and I learned so much from making it.

  5. One of my favorite quilts was one I made when I first started. It was a four block wall hanging made with the 54-40 or Fight quilt block. It was done in a class and we moved the colors of the fabric around to illustrate how different a block can look with a different color placement. I hand pieced and hand quilted it. Still have it.

  6. My favorite quilt was one I made for one of my dear friends, who is now 92. I asked her what she wanted, and she told me she wanted a Christmas quilt. She helped me design it, and she proudly displays it at Christmas. It took me months, but I improved and got faster at piecing as I worked. It is probably not the most beautiful quilt I have ever made, but it is my favorite. That was only two years ago, by the way!

  7. My favorite quilt ..hard to choose..is my blue bird quilt..I added three cardinals in memory of my 3 siblings who have passed. I love it!

  8. It is hard to pick my favorite. I have 3. The first quilt I made was a Basket Quilt for my daughter. Second, a Baby Quilt with 3 different size dresden blocks scattered on the quilt top. Third, a critter quilt the penguin quilt.

  9. My favourite quilt is a throw quilt I made using Christmas fabric with metallic specks. It brings joy to my heart each year when I bring it out for the season.

  10. i made my daughter a red and white Jacob’s Ladder for a gift 2 years ago. my favorite pattern for a quilt.my favorite quilt

  11. I think my favorite quilt to make was called Brick Walk. It was a pattern I found in a magazine. I hand cut each piece and hand pieced each piece. I did it in blue tones. The cotton fabric is so soft and cozy, although I don’t really use it. I love to look at it. I started it in 1994 and finally had it quilted and did the binding in 2013. I number all my quilts. It is #7 of 85 so far. I would treasure owing one of your quilts Pat. Thank you for the chance.

  12. This is like choosing your favorite child or grandchild. I guess my favorite quilt, at the moment, is Color My World which was a BOM from The Quilt Show a few years ago. I used my own stash instead of a kit and I love it. It hangs in my living room and even won a 1st place at the Fair.

  13. My favorite quilt to finish is always the current one I’m working on. Because, I’m already so excited to begin the next quilt. Or jump in with a Pat Sloan sew along. So many quilt ideas, so little time!

  14. I love, love, love my Mad Hatters Quilt by Tula Pink! It was such a joy to piece and quilt. Her bright colors are fabulous. I love the tea cups and the top hats, the images of Alice and the white rabbit in one corner. My favorite quilt by far.

  15. Log cabin was one of the first quilt blocks I ever attempted. It is still my favorite. Thank you for your encouragement and skill building videos.

  16. My favorite quilt is a bargello quilt that I made in a dusty pink, burgundy and a dusty green! It was a workshop put on by my quilt group!

  17. My favorite quilt that is finished is the one called String Bean that you hosted for us as a sew along about a year or so ago. I made it scrappy with each box sticking to a particular color. It is so bright and cheery. I gave it as a gift to another color lover, but I loved it so much, I think I need to make another, it was fun.

  18. This was hard! I think it would be my Lady Tulip by Edyta Sitar. I resisted doing it because the colors were not in my comfort zone, but it turned out so beautiful that I have it on my quilt ladder, displayed for everyone to see💕

  19. My favorite quilt was made when I was just starting my quilting journey. It is a crazy quilt but so what structured. I love the fabric I used. I loved using the fancy stitches on my sewing machine.

  20. I just made a Michigan quilt using 2 1/2 inch squares. I donated the first one and I loved it so much I’m making another one for myself. The mitten and upper are all done in different dark blues and the rest is all different light fabrics.

  21. My brothers quilt of valor – because when I presented it to him you could see the joy! I also love a snow globe quilt with flannel as it was a combination of piecing and hand embroidery

  22. My favorite quilt is one I just finished and am giving away tonight. It’s for the woman who leads a children’s veggie garden group and the group has been going for 30 years. We adult volunteers want to give her something to commemorate the occasion and did an appliquéd veggie quilt with 4 signature blocks with all the participants name that the kids decorated with fabric markers.

  23. My favorite is the Halloween Mystery Block we just did because it was my first quilt along. Brand new into quilting and so pleased to have found your community straight away.

  24. Picking a favorite quilt is like picking a favorite child – well, maybe not that dramatic, lol! To be absolutely honest, my favorite quilt was the Secret Lives of Color quilt we did last year with you. It challenged me to use fabrics I wouldn’t have normally put together and certainly enhanced my ability to use color more fearlessly.

  25. The quilt that is my favorite that I have made is an Autumn bargello with pieced leaves on two sides. Leave it up on living room wall year round.

  26. I have several flimsies, but I haven’t yet finished a full-sized quilt. The favorite one I’ve finished is probably a quilted pumpkin pillow I made for my daughter. She loves decorating for fall and brings out her pillow every year. I love it so much because it makes her feel so special.

  27. My favorite quilt is the first appliqué quilt I made. It’s a variation of the Circuit Rider quilt with appliquéd sashing and borders.

  28. My favorite quilt is a queen sized fam quilt done in fabulous 30’s fabrics with mint green borders.

  29. My favorite quilt was made from a maple quilts pattern, three neighbor girls were getting married three weeks apart, we were in a small rental and I had a small area to sew. I worked very hard, got them done and so happy, they were thrilled, being a sagittarius I seem to wait too long to start but then go crazy to meet my deadlines, proud to get them done for them

  30. This is hard choosing my favorite quilt because every one is my favorite but I think it would be one of the first ones I made when I started quilting in 2016. I gathered fabric from every fabric shop I visited then I set down to make a Halloween quilt for my son and daughter-in-law. I pieced crazy quilt blocks and free motion quilted it on my home sewing machine with loops and spider webs. I was new to quilting and had no idea how much fabric to buy. I bought so much that over the years I have made several quilt projects using the fabrics. There is still a little left for just the right project.

  31. My favorite quilt to make…and to give…was a Crown Royal quilt for my niece. She started the blocked but got stumped. I secretly got them from her mom and finished the quilt in time for her birthday. The Crown Royal bags had been her dad’s, may he R.I.P.

  32. My favorite quilt is the Laura Heine large bee quilt I made for my daughter-in-law. She’s a bee keeper. It turned out so very nice and was a blast to make! It required my creativity. Thank you Pat for all you do – and congrats on 100K!

  33. My favorite quilt was a Henry Glass glow in the dark Halloween quilt. I made it for my daughter. It was fun to work with the fabric.

  34. The most favorite quilt I ever made was a kaleidoscope quilt I made for my daughter in law. The fabric in that quilt is gorgeous and ultimately becoming such beautiful blocks. It was hard to give to her but I did with love – haha!

  35. I have two favorite quilts that I’ve made. The third quilt I made was in a class, it was a clamshell quilt in soft pastels. My other favorite was a flag quilt made up of 30 different intricately pieced flags. I’ve been watching you for at least five years, you’re videos are a great way to start my day! Thanks for all you do!!

  36. My favorite quilt I made was completed about 20 years ago. It was a small doll quilt with vertical rows of hand-embroidered flowers between vertical rows of miniature 4-patches set on point. It was well-loved by grandchildren who are now young adults.

  37. My most cherished quilt is the crossword one with grandkids names. Love snuggling up with it, wrapped up in family.

  38. I have many favorite quilts, but my current favorite is the Woodland Wonderland quilt we all did together. I love the colors and the owl and mushrooms are super cute. I am so glad I joined in on this particular sew along.

  39. My favorite quilt is the one I made my husband.
It is an Ombré Puff Quilt and I used “Smol”, “Food Groups”, and “Tomato, Tomahto” from Ruby Star Society. It is such a fun and comfortable quilt, so much to look at and definitely was a labor of love (more tedious than difficult). I really wish that “Sugar Cone” was already out, alas it is a savory quilt instead of sweet and that’s okay.

  40. There are many quilts I’ve made over the last several years, but my favorite quilt is the first one I ever made. Although it wasn’t the best one, without having any pattern or instructions.

  41. Good morning Pat, my favorite quilt of all is the pineapples quilt that I got from you. You shared the pattern about 2 plus years ago. I made mine similar to yours in yellow and white. I love it. Thanks again for giving us that pattern. Carmen Maldonado from Colorado Springs.

  42. My favorite quilt is a Log Cabin Quilt made with family photos of varying sizes. Made for my parents 45th wedding anniversary. All pictures were different sizes so “logs” had to be adjusted so all blocks were the same size. Made in Furrow and Fields layout with Hill and Valley border. Made 25 years ago, and still my favorite.

  43. My favorite quilt is my first one I made. It started me on this journey into a whole wonderful world of inspiring people!
I took a class at JoAnn’s fabric and made a block a month in my favorite color, purple. Hand quilted it with my mom and aunt and sister in law. I love your morning videos! Thank you for your inspiration and knowledge:).

  44. I have many favorite quilts that I have made. I made an Ocean Wave for my DIL when she graduated from OTC. It was Dark Blue and White, with a Red Heart in the waves. I called it Waves of love. I was a little short on the blue for the boarder blue so I made a patchwork heart to fit in the lower corner with the scraps of red.
