The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

1,214 Responses

  1. My favorite quilt pattern is the Yellow Brick Road. I have made 2 of them, 1 for my oldest sister and 1 for my husband.

  2. I have 2 favorite quilts I have made. The first is a Jewel Box Pattern in Gustav Klimt fabrics. This hangs on my bedroom wall for me to enjoy. It combines my favorite artist ans my favorite hobby in one. The second would be the throw I made for myself using all different coffee prints, again combing my love of quilting with my love of coffee.

  3. I have 2 favorite quilts that I have made. #1 is my farmers wife quilt made from the book of the same name. It was a 3 year endeavor. #2 is called the 1876 quilt. The pattern for it was adapted from the original quilt made in 1876. They both were labors of love.

  4. Being new to piece quilting, my favorite quilts I have done are the 30 embroidered baby quilt blankets I have done for all my grandkids and nieces and nephews. Of course starting out with one for each of my two boys. I also made a wedding quilt for my sister that I embroidered her wedding invitation on.

  5. My favorite quilt I made was for my daughter’s wedding, it was The civil war bride, heavily appliquéd blocks of flowers & leaves, birds & butterflies, animals and fruit. It was a work of love and everyone loved the results

  6. I just finished, got the binding on, the fat little pumpkin from Pat Sloan’s Holiday Hoopla. I had to make that quilt. I tried to get it done for the holiday’s last year but I got it back from the long-armer after Thanksgiving. I need air conditioner season to end so I can hang it up. I can’t wait.

  7. My favorite quilt I have is Ring of Stars byNancy Rink. It’s on my bed and I made curtains, bed skirt, and pillow shams to match. Your quilt reminds me of mine. It would look beautiful on a nearby chair!

  8. Oops! My last comment I didn’t realize the quilt had to be finished. My fave finished quilt is the baby quilt I made for our great-grandson last year. Its from a panel of blocks of (not cutesy) baby forest animals in soft greens, browns, and grays on cream. I cut the blocks apart and did some sashing and borders. It is quilted in free style vertical wavy lines. It was a big hit at the baby shower!

  9. So many favorites, I think probably Tula Pinks The Butterfly quilt, loved the pattern and colors, made it for my niece. Very challenging and fun

  10. My favorite quilt was a one block wonder. It was the most artistic quilt I’ve made. It was from a class. The fabric was made up of jewel tones in burgundy, gold and greens, questionable by some in the class. It was custom quilted beautifully. It was something I never would have taken on myself without this class. Probably wouldn’t make another as I love more traditional piecing.

  11. My favorite is one I made this spring for my very first great-grand daughtere Madison, born this August. It was a totally girly pink quilt of bunnies standing backward, with the cutest fluffy tails.

  12. My favorite quilt I completed was my first quilt for my Granddaughter. I don’t remember the name of the pattern but, I used beautiful pinks and yellows and Paris fabrics with the Eiffel Tower and bicycles in black outline. I still love that fabric line of colors.

  13. My favorite quilt is the butterfly design by Tula Pink made with her fabrics. It opened my eyes to using different colors, and patterns together. On my bed for the summer!

  14. My favorite quilt that I have made so far is a Labyrinth Walk that I made for my son’s birthday last year. It was the largest that I had made so far (only started quilting last year), finishing at roughly 84”x84”. Did all of the extensive custom quilting on my domestic machine. And he loved it and uses it on his bed!

  15. My favorite quilt I made was a Frozen quilt for my granddaughter. Even though she was only 2 1/2 when I gave it to her last Christmas, she loved it so much and carried it around all day. The quilt measured approximately 70×80 but that didn’t stop her. She also sleeps with it every night. Mommy waits for her to spend her night at Nana’s house to wash it. I’m still pretty new to quilting but that one I was very proud of. I made the crystals for one side adding the names of the 5 spirits and the top and bottom has the mountains using blue and white 10in squares.

  16. Congratulations! Well deserved. You are amazing and so much fun. I learn a lot and enjoy your videos. My favorite quilt I have made so far is Snapdragon with your fabric. I made it King size so I used two kits. It is wonderful. So colorful.

  17. Favorite quilt is one I made for my mother’s birthday many years ago where all my quilting family and aunts donated a block. Became such a memory treasure for her.

  18. My favorite quilt I made is the log cabin sewn for my step-daughter’s 40th birthday! Her expression of surprise and love make all the effort and quilting grand! Making for others is always rewarding. It’s the cuddle to them that lasts when you can’t be there. Congratulations Pat!

  19. I think every quilt I finish is my favorite for a time. But I’d have to answer my crazy quilt I use on my couch – I collected patriotic fabric for years and it all ended up in this quilt and every block has so many memories.

  20. I made a Quiltworks Fractured Star, but modified it to fit a larger bed.
Entered it in our guild’s quilt show and won 2nd place and the Best Piecework ribbon. Everything just came together perfect on this one.

  21. My favourite quilt that I finished is my Halloween quilt by designer Joann figora. If love to have a quilt made by pat Sloan. Thanks for all your videos

  22. The quilt I made that I was proudest of and I loved was called “McComma’s Beauty”. It was a FPP quilt and I loved all the sharp points. The colors I used were red and white. I recently purchased the pattern again and plan to make it again, for myself this time.

  23. My Favorite quilt (right now) is my Country Crossroads. I totally drafted it myself and LOVE how it turned out. Congrats on 100K…Love your channel and website!

  24. My favorite quilt is one I finished about 10 years ago. It was a reproduction quilt BOM called Civil War Tribute and is very large. I was able to quilt it using my small machine by cutting the batting into sections and quilting it in sections out from the middle. It is my fall season bed cover so it is about to come out of hibernation again.

  25. My favorite quilt is the one that my Sweetheart Tiny and me met over. I made a split nine patch for a raffle quilt. I sold tickets to anyone in our small community to raise funds for our children’s group. On one Saturday, we had a community yard sale near our ponds. I sold a lot of tickets and a few quilt and sock patterns. On the spur of the moment I set up my pop up in the same location on Sunday. I sold some tickets to a couple of dirt bike riders. One bought $28 worth of tickets. And gave me all of his contact info. I told my gf Maria, that I wasn’t going to call him back. Well long story short, Tiny won the quilt. I HAD to call him back! Our first date was on Oct 13, 2011 and we’re still madly in love with each other.

  26. My favorite quilt is hanging in my sewing room and it makes me smile every time I look at it. it’s Corey Yoder’s Friendly Neighbor pattern using her Apricot and Ash fabric line.

  27. My favorite finished quilt was a baby quilt that was a double Irish chain & the focus fabric was frogs on a bright pink background.

  28. My favourite quilt is one I made for my cousin’s baby girl out of Ruby Star Society Darlings fabric. I made it from X and O blocks and because we were in Covid lockdown at the time I called it ‘Socially Distanced Hugs & Kisses’. The fabric collection had so many novelty prints that the quilt doubles as an ‘I Spy’.

  29. My favorite quilt is the one I’m quilting right now for my granddaughter. It’s my own design called Supernova and reminds me of a photo taken by the space telescope. It is red orange and yellow stars on a tealish black background. I’m quilting it with free motion swirls in gold on the supernova star and horizontal wavy lines over the rest in dark teal.

  30. My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!

  31. My favorite quilt I made was Mediterranean Hexagons by Kaffe Fassett. I was at one of his retreats and didn’t have exactly the right fabric for the pattern, so Kaffe went upstairs with me to the quilt shop and helped me choose my fabrics!

  32. My favorite quilt was one that I made several years ago for the Stowe Vermont Community Church raffle. It was called The Hidden Star but I don’t remember who the designee was. The quilt was won by a woman who passed away several years later. The quilt was given back to me and I donated it to the VFW for where they raffled it off again. So this quilt brought many $$$ to two different organizations!

  33. Congratulations on 100K!! Exciting! My most memorable quilt is the Lonestar. As a beginner we tackled this in our military wives quilt guild and boy was I in over my head but I learned so much! Made tons of mistakes, struggled but never gave up! I’m still, 25 years later so proud of that project! I’ve learned so much from you over the years Pat and would like to Thank You for keeping my love for quilting alive.

  34. My favorite quilt I made is Hunters Star for my great nephew Hunter’s high school graduation in his future college fabric. It was made with Deb Tuckers ruler so was quick, easy but also very stunning in Royal Purple.

  35. Love your log cabin! My favorite quilt to make ever was a Fishy Fishy pattern and fabric from a FQS Sew Sampler box I made for my grandson. I make a lot of Dresdens though as the strips are my leader Enders.

  36. My favorite quilt is hard to decide. Today it is a block of the month I made years ago. It’s Moda fabrics and I can’t remember the name. I use it as my winter bed quilt s it is a king size.

  37. Favorite quilt: a blue and purple log cabin quilt that I made using Elenor Burn’s Quilt in a Day book in 1989. I made it for my oldest daughter to take with her to college. I think I cried the entire time having to send her off to the “big bad world.” 🙂

  38. My favorite quilt is the Grandmother’s Kitchen quilt along by Pat Sloan. I’ve done several but that one I did in teal colors and it just tugged at my heart strings during the entire quilt along. The dress with the apron was the star of the show. Thanks for all you do for the quilting community ❤️

  39. My favourite quilt is one that my husband’s grandmother made . It’s “Grandma’s flower garden “. It’s not only beautiful but a family eidolon. I know it’s not what you wanted but it’s my favourite one. Thanks

  40. My absolute favorite that I have made is my New York Beauty wall quilt. I had so much fun finding the fabrics, sewing the parts and after it hangs at the fair, will be hanging on my wall. Love it, love it, love it.

  41. Hmmm…as many have said… it’s hard to pick just one favorite. I really like the three quilts I made for my first three grandsons. One was planes then trains then… construction vehicles (oh my 😉 ). I’m in the planning stages for the quilts for my next two granddaughters born this year (and a third granddaughter coming in December!). Congratulations on your 100k subscribers! Thank you for your enthusiasm and inspiration! I look forward to your videos each morning!

  42. Gosh it’s hard to decide which was a favorite, there are so many! I guess to choose one I would pick the needle turn appliqué I made and also won a ribbon at the fair. I do love all my quilts!😁. Thank you for all your inspiration!

  43. My favorite quilt was made for a close friend who had long admired my quilting work. I offered to make her a quilt. We ended up deciding on the Reunion BOM quilt kit with Judy Rothermel reproduction fabric. The quilt finished at 107″ square. It is by far the largest quilt I have ever made, and I loved making every block with Judy’s beautiful reproduction fabric. It turned out perfect.

  44. Isn’t everyone who makes quilts a little bit crazy?! Crazy for color! Crazy for fabric! Crazy for creating! So is it any wonder my favorite quilt was the first quilt I ever made. The Crazy Eight Quilt made in beautiful bright crazy orange Kaffe Fassett fabric. It started my crazy journey on making quilts and connected me to some wonderful friends who are also crazy about laughing, sharing, giving and most of all crazy for making quilts! Everyone should go a little bit crazy and make a Crazy Eight Quilt in their favorite fabric.

  45. Hi Pat! I love watching all your posts! Congrats on so many subscribers! I’ve been following you for almost 4 years now after a friend got me back into sewing. I’ve always sewed since high school but she shared quilting with me and I haven’t stopped since! She told me about your page and I’ve loved it ever since! I watched others but yours is my constant. 💚 in that 4 year period though I haven’t made very many quilts, just small things like tablewear and kitchen items! So, as for a favorite, I would have to say it was my granddaughter’s first quilt. It was small crib size quilt size, but I loved all the patchwork on the top and putting it together. I used all Winnie the Pooh fabrics! She will have it to treasure. I’m hoping to make her at least one quilt a year. I’ll be starting on her second one since her birthday is in January! Thanks for all you give to this community. Blessings Lynda

  46. Congratulations on your 100k milestone.

granddaughter that we lost @32 weeks it was light blue with a little sparkle and pinwheels made with the blue and Arieal fabrics and some embroidery on it with purple minky on the back

  47. My favorite quilt that I made was a bear quilt for my son.it had bear fabrics and bear paws, and lots of random squares.
