The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

1,214 Responses

  1. My favorite quilt is a Library quilt that I made for my daughter-in-law, who is an avid reader. I embroidered titles of books that are actually on her home bookshelf. It was a true labor of love.

  2. My favourite quilt is “This goes with that”, designed by Sue Daley which is large hexagons made from other shapes. It is all hand pieced from scraps and the very first quilt I have had quilted by a longarmer.

  3. My favorite quilt I made was for my daughter. I fell in love with the soft very elegant fabric. Very pastel pink, gray, and cream. One of my first quilts I made. Log cabin.

  4. The favorite quilt I’ve made is my blue & yellow Dresden Plate. I loved the Dresden pattern and decided to take it one. I hand stitched the plates to the background. I was very proud of tackling the pattern and having a beautiful quilt when it was done. I don’t have it on my bed often because I don’t want hubby sitting on it after working on the cars. 🙂

  5. The most favorite quilt I’ve made is the Harrisonburg quilt. I love the pattern, the fabric I used was beautiful, and the size is perfect. The vintage feel just finishes it off as #1!

  6. My favorite quilt is the one I just finished for my first Great Grandchild due on Halloween of all days.

  7. My favorite quilt is a log cabin quilt I took years to finish. The reason why it took so long is because it’s not a typical log cabin quilt. The 3″ log cabin blocks, which there are hundreds of them, create a large pictoral scene. It’s from a book by Christal Carter and all of the little blocks create different pictoral scenes. It consists of 1″ strips and I would get impatient because it was kind of tedious. About 5 years ago I pushed through and completed it and it comes out each fall because the scene is a scarecrow, pumpkins, haystack, crow, corn,a jug ofapple cider, a pie and a rooster with a sunrise

  8. My favorite quilt I have made is one that I collected vintage hankies for in antique/thrift stores over several years. The hankies are folded into butterfly shapes and appliquéd onto blocks.

  9. My favorite quilt is my second quilt I pieced, embroidered autumn leaves in a few blocks, and quilted. I hang it on a wall somewhere in my house the beginning of September. I take it down after Thanksgiving.

  10. My favorite quilt is one I made for my husband for our 45th wedding anniversary. That was 5 years ago. It resides at the foot of our bed. It was made with a layer cake music themed fabric, music notes, sheet music, and set with friendship stars in the sashings. He is a musician and singer. I was working at a fabric store at the time, my husband would pick me up and I would be bringing my project back and forth. He never noticed.

  11. My favorite quilt is a flying geese pattern quilt that I pieced together in 2021. It has Minky on the back making it warm and cozy during the cold winter months here in New Jersey. I used my Accuquilt flying geese die to cut patches from the grooming bandannas that I saved over many years from my dog Huey’s (cocker spaniel) many trips to the groomer. When I wrap myself up in my quilt it reminds me of Huey, he passed away in 2020 at 13 years old. I love my quilt!!

  12. Congrats on the 100k! You have opened my eyes on how to use color in a quilt. My favorite quilt was for my grandson. It was made with a lot of love. I also love to see quilts patterns in this smaller scale. Thanks for all your videos and good cheer in the mornings.

  13. My favorite quilt is the scrappy four patch variation I made for my husband. We put it on our bed when we got a new bed . Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. My favorite quilt was the one I made with a “mystery” charm pack of Kaffe Fassette prints! Took a long time to find the right pattern and be brave enough to cut into the fabric! Backed it with a wild lime green paisley, and gifted the quilt to an equally vibrant friend!
    Congrats, Pat! 100k+ subscribers!

  15. I’m glad to see that I am not the only one who cannot possibly pick a favorite quilt! That’s like picking a favorite child. That said, I agree with others that my favorite is the one I am currently working on. I am always trying to do quilting techniques that I haven’t done before. I’m working on a “stack and whack” that is a big challenge for me. I found a cat and pumpkins quilt in American Patchwork Magazine and I just loved it! I don’t have cats, but luckily friends do, so good excuse to make a quilt. It was fast, fun, cute and I was able to do it from my stash. So, currently that’s my favorite.

  16. My favorite quilt is one I made in January 2020- farm girl vintage. Since I was new to quilting, it challenged me with every block and I learned so much. I chose the blocks to make from my life on our dairy farm, where I had lots of animals, gardened, rode horses, baked a lot of goodies. It’s my favorite!

  17. My favorite quilt is the queen size quilt I made for my niece’s wedding gift. It was a modern design with an off center medallion made of half square triangles & square in square blocks. I used bright batik set on a pale pink batik background.

  18. Pat, my favorite quilt that I have made would have to be my Christmas quilt! I made it two years ago, I’ve only been quilting for about 4 years. Started out with simple quilts and made 3 quilts in three months and I was a beginner! Lol I really love my Christmas quilt. It’s called Christmas Stitched, it’s fabric from Fig Tree and I love it! So excited to be able to enter to win one of your quilts!

  19. I made a signature quilt and instead of putting signatures in the blanks I put scriptures and happy sayings that were meaningful to me. It was very helpful to me in a difficult time in my life. I still love it.

  20. My favorite quilt is a rooster applique quilt. It challenged me to work with applique and then the quilting. I quilted it to death in a radiating sun around him and he is simple delightful in dark browns, reds and golds. It was also the first quilt I made using a variety of 5 different yellows.

  21. mine is the one i made for my husband and now he is in heaven. it was a scrappy quilt and he loved it.

  22. My favorite quilt that I made is from a pattern called Japanese Puzzle. I made the flimsy in 2006 out of Japanese Indigo fabrics on a white background and other fabrics from Japan including a red small print as a narrow accent border, binding and backing. I then put it away for a while and did not finish it until 2021 when I finally sent it to the long arm spa and put the binding on by hand. It now hangs in my living room and I love it. The pattern was complicated and I did a good job on it if I do say so myself.

  23. Favorite quilt: Boho Radiant Diamond (inspired by Burnnam’s Flock of Geese) — a color block diamond made with over 200 HSTs using Kaurman’s Homestead Harvest and Edyta Sitar’s Olive Branch fabrics. Congrats on your 100K!

  24. I have 2 quilts that I really love. One is the quilted village which is a center large block surrounded by 12 different houses and the other was a quilt with bees, I can’t remember the name of it

  25. Pat, thank you for all you’ve done for me. My “home is where the heart is” quilt that you present as a quilt along. It’s one of my favorites. I made it out of a beautiful blue and white. It is one of those quilts that you can cuddle up in and just sleep. I made that quilt working with my mom. She loved watching your show as much as I do.

  26. I made an applique Sunbonnet Sue quilt, full size for a Granddaughter. Lot of work but turned out really pretty.

  27. My favorite quilt I’ve made is my first king size quilt I made for my daughter and son-in-law. It’s blues and yellow and grey with a pieced star border.

  28. My favorite is my first….it was a jelly roll race I made for friends that were getting married. They love John Deere so I picked those colours. They loved it. And I was proud of it too. I started learning to quilt at the beginning of the Pandemic with YOU!!! I’ve learned alot from you Pat and love your friendliness.

  29. My most favorite quilt I finished was your home is. I did it in purples. I had just started quilting and was surprised when I was able to do it from start to finish. I was so excited for Wednesday to get here. I watch all your videos. 💜

  30. My favourite quilt so far was a wedding gift for my youngest daughter, I really didn’t have a pattern, so I made 2 different blocks, a friendship star and a churn dash, the fabric was a mix of beige and light rust for background and a black with tinny stars in in for the star points and churn dash. It turned out to be a beautiful quilt and was a great colour choice for her country home as I was going for a rustic feel. To this day she still gets compliments from visitors on the quilt I made, warms my heart.
I’d like to take this time to thank you for all the wonderful Vedic’s that you post and inspiring me to try new things. Thank you so much Pat for a chance to win your lovely giveaway 💞

  31. My favorite quilt I have made was Tula Pink Nebula quilt. It is also the first quilt I kept for myself. I have been quilting for about 10 years. Every other quilt I have gifted to family and friends.

  32. My favourite quilt was a king size log cabin that I made for my husband when we moved into our new home 18 years ago. The blocks were laid out in the fields & furrows pattern just because we’re farmers!

  33. My favorite quilt I made is one that I just finished “into the Woods” by the Pattern Basket. I made it with Spellbound by Sweetfire Road. I love making the trees and stars. I did the sashing with orange pumpkins instead of the grunge I used for the background. I can’t wait to hang in in my living room!!

  34. My favorite quilt that I have made as been the string bean quilt pattern. I made one from scraps and one from men plaid shirts. I also joined a LWR quilt group. I love making quilts it is part of my daily schedule. Thanks Pat!

  35. My favorite quilt is a ribbon star pattern made with Janet Clare fabric. The fabric is so soft and its the one quilt i always want to snuggle in.

  36. I have several…of course…favorite quilts but I think the most recent is a t-shirt quilt for one of my granddaughters. She asked me if I could make one using her softball jerseys. There were 20 of them and she wanted the front and back of all. Therefore I made a reversible quilt alternating between the fronts and backs. I had never made a t-shirt quilt before so I did lots and lots of research. This quilt was definitely a labor of love…and I do mean labor! Don’t think I would ever make one again except if another grandchild asked me. Even destroyed my iron in the process when preparing the very last shirt…that’s a story for another day. Lol

  37. My favorite quilts I made were Christmas gifts for my Grandson and Grandaughter . They were 10 and 12 years old. Made each a scrappy Yellow Brick Road using fabric that reflected their likes and personalities. Watch your videos daily and have learned a lot . Thanks for all you do.

  38. My favorite quilt was my first in 1971-72! I still lived with my parents and decided to make a 4” square block quilt. Many of the fabric was from my mom’s stash, as well as my aunt’s and grandma’s. I carried the blocks in a tin, hand piecing the blocks in foursomes. I then laid it out on the floor of our spare bedroom, and my mom, dad, and I would move them around until it was just right. ( then my toy poodle would ‘help’ move them, too). My (ex) husband and I used that quilt for 5 years until my new dog decided to chew up. Many pieces of it would have been salvageable, but hubby threw it in the garbage before I got home from work. The garbage was picked up that day and I never saw it again. 🥲

  39. I love almost all the quilts that I have made. Of course, there have been duds. It’s very difficult to choose a favorite! I made a red, white, and blue scrappy quilt from your Liberty Hill pattern. I not only love the look of the quilt but, I love the feel of the quilt. The combination of the fabrics in the quilt top, the batting, the backing fabric, and the quilting just turned out perfect. It is my go to quilt when snuggling up on the couch to watch TV. Thanks Pat!

  40. RED,RED,RED,EVERYTHING RED!!! what a wonderful quilt to win. My favorite quilt i ever made was a memorial quilt made from the clothes of my friends daughter who had past away. it had betty boop in the center and different clothes squares around and was first time i correctly free-motioned quilted!

  41. My favourite quilt was gifted this year to my son and his bride-to-be, done in sage and lavender colours using a block from the Jolly Bar 4 book. Their wedding is coming up on September 2. This was the first quilt I sent to the spa, and I love it.

  42. This is a hard one. I have several “favorites” I would have to say my favorite quilt was your “Happy Everything” this was the first asymmetrical quilt I had ever done. I loved the civil war reproduction fabrics I used and just how it came out. But the reason I would say it was my favorite is because of the person I gifted it to. It went to a beautiful women /friend who has such a kind heart. She had just lost her oldest son at 34 years old who died suddenly in his sleep from a heart condition he was not aware he had. She just needed a quilt to wrap herself up in an endless hug!

  43. My favorite quilt that I made belongs to my grandson. He was 2 when I made it he is now 13. It still in use for his 3 year old sister but they both love it. Makes me smile❤️

  44. My favorite is a block exchange table topper in civil war prints. I have it on my table and as we sit there I am constantly remembering the ladies at a quilt retreat that made them. Different fabrics that show the personality of each. Thanks Pat!

  45. My favorite quilt I’ve made is the first one I quilted which was 8 years ago when I retired. It includes piecework and some appliqué. I had so much fun selecting the fabrics which I still love. Happy memories and good vibes!

  46. I may havecposted to the wrong spot. Main Street is my favorite quilt that I have made. It was my first QAL, I enjoyed the stories every week, I learned about Pat’s YouTube channel and I met a lot of great people in the chat, who are now my new friends. Pat has taught me so much about quilting since I started in 2019. I am so thankful that I started this new hobby.
