The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

  1. My most favorite quilt so far…was the second one I have made. It is a king size Carpenter Star. The fabric was from a Christmas line but I only used the greens and cream from the line. Also made matching pillow shams. Looking forward to making an Oh My Stars next. Thanks for all you do!

  2. My “Winter scene church panel” Quilt its the first larger quilt I have made and I love it, its blues and tans. I used batiks in blues for the piano keys I put all around it with several borders.

  3. Pat I am so amazed at what you have accomplished. You were a life line for myself during the pandemic and still now. You deserve this award.
My favorite quilt is one is one that was in my head for many years before I had the courage to do it. I collected many Mary Rose fabrics and wanted to do hexagon flowers with no filler so it looked like a field of flowers. I loved how it came out. I liked it so much I’m making it again in Tulsa’s new brightly colored fabric line.

  4. My favorite quilt is my first paper pieced quilt for a very good friend. I spent time looking for various types of fabrics that matched the interests of my friend.

  5. My favorite quilt I’ve finished is my most recent finish – the Blue Pear block of the month quilt designed by Laurie Simpson of Minick & Simpson. I love the mixture of pieced blocks and appliqué. I just put the binding on last week. Cheers, thanks Pat!

  6. My favorite quilt is the one that I made. I take it out to look at it. It’s an African embroidery quilt. I digitized some of the pictures. It’s my favorite because my dad came to visit me, and I was working on the quilt, and he was holding it as I was quilting it on my dining room table. He died a few months after that, I will always have that memory that he was making that quilt with me. I named the quilt “The Quality of Life.”

  7. My favorite quilt was a unicorn panel with stars going down one side that I made for my great niece. It was backed with pink minkee.

  8. Many years ago when I first got interested in quilting, I did a Christmas tree skirt with red, white and green fabric. It was hand pieced and hand quilted. I learned so much doing that project. It is perhaps my favorite quilt since it was my first one that actually got finished.
Another quilt that is a close second is a log cabin one that my husband and I hand pieced together. We own an old log cabin and this was supposed to go in it. He is now deceased and the quilt has yet to be finished quilting. It, too, was started many years ago when batting came in one loft – high! I started to hand quilt it, but I have never finished.

  9. My favourite quilt is my first quilt, Birds are Singing Love Songs designed by Barb Cleaver. It features machine piecing, hand applique and hand quilting.

  10. My favorite quilt is my library quilt. My second passion is reading and I made it using scraps and a purchased background fabric. It was so much fun going through my scraps and picking out what I wanted to use. Thank you for sharing!

  11. My favorite quilt was a 3 yard quilt I made a few years ago. I had a piece of fabric for about 10 years that I didn’t want to cut. This pattern allowed me to use the fabric without cutting it into small pieces. I found 2 other pieces to help showcase my special fabric and make a quilt that I love.

  12. My favorite quilt is the Quilt of Honor I made for my cousin’s husband. He is a Vietnam Veteran. As I presented it to him, he told me it was the first time anyone had recognized or thanked him publicly for his service. It really touched my heart and I am so thankful I was able to help him be proud of his service to our country.

  13. My favorite quilt is a paper pieced quilt by Judy Niemeyer. “Desert Sky”. I made it with a very light grunge background with all the New York Beauty in Kaffe Fassett fabrics. It was quilted by an award winner long arm quilter, Dusty Farrell.
It means a lot to me. I will cherish it forever.

  14. Hi Pat! My favorite is the one I just made for my first grandbaby born in July.
Love watching you! and love RED! everything RED!!

  15. My favorite quilt was my very first sew along from you called “HOME IS”. At the time I was at a very low spot in my life. After years of working as a dedicated worker for a business they just out of the blue let me go. Plus it was during the pandemic. I found your channel and you where the sunshine that brighten my day. Every time I look at that quilt I’m reminded of all the fun we had as well as your happy smile and your positivity. Thank you for all your time you share with each and everyone of us. You are a special lady.

  16. My favorite quilt that I finished was a quilt I made for my mother last year for Christmas. It was made with Primitive Gatherings fabric line called Garden Gatherings Shirtings. I used foundation paper piecing. I created my own layout with sashing and borders. It was also the first quilt I ever sent to the long-armer. She absolutely loved it and I’m glad!

  17. My favorite finished quilt is my scrappy Christmas dresden plate quilt. I used scraps from all the Christmas stockings and dresses I’ve made over the years for family members. I even have fabric from my youngest daughter’s first Christmas dress (she’ll be 30 this year). My granddaughter’s love looking at each blade in the plates at Christmas to find their fabrics or when they find their mom & dad’s stockings in the quilt.

  18. My favorite quilt is Pat’s March 2021 sew along. I made it scrappy and my family enjoys seeing pieces from something else I had made them. Also, the fabric that I had held onto for at least 10 years because I couldn’t bear to cut it was used as the backing. Love it, front or back.

  19. I actually have 2. One was a Daisy cross stitch quilt that I made many, many years ago and my mom hand quilted it for me. I won a ribbon on it at the quilt show when I entered it. The other one was called A Mocha quilt that I did most of the work on and Mom did work on it some but she also hand quilted it for me. We also got a ribbon on that quilt when we entered it at the quilt show. They are both prized quilts because of the work we did on them and the memories that I have of a wonderful time spent with my mom.

  20. The favorite quilt I made was one I made for
My husband. It was a bear tracks pattern
And was full of novelty fabrics. It was HUGE.
    120×120

  21. My favorite quilt made was the result of an internet block swap. String blocks that each person requests their own colors. Mine was batiks with center strip “beach/sand” color with remaining “ocean” colors. When I got the blocks back, I wondered about others definition of ocean 🙂 but once I started laying out, I can see the waves moving through it. It’s an off center barn raising setting. I found an oceany blue with dolphins for the border and backing. I LOVE it!!! it turned out better than I had pictured!

  22. Every quilt I finish is my favorite!
Quilts are like our children. . . Each one is our favorite for different reasons!!

  23. My favorite quilt I have finished is one I have made for my youngest grandson. I was the free May rainbows pattern from Pat’s page. So colorful and it came together quickly.

  24. One of my favorites is you pattern Out of This World. I did it in blues an yellows and king sized it. It is on my bed even as we seek. My king sized Harrisburg is going to the long armer tomorrow. That was a big job.

  25. My favorite finished quilt is Flying Geese from “Quilts! Quilts! Quilts! By Diana McClun and Laura Nownes. I did not particularly like the way it was looking until I quilted it. Just straight line quilting, but the simple quilt work pulled it together and looks amazing. Gifted to my son for Christmas a few years back – he treasures the quilt! 🥰 I am so glad I completed it!!!

  26. My favorite quilt always seams to be the last one that I finished which is the Scraps of Kindness Sew Along quilt (Patchwork Spools) by Kim Diehl. I love the traditional style of the fabrics and I quilted it using a Baptist Fan pattern.

  27. My favorite finished quilt is a Kimberly quilt that I was having problems putting together so I took half the blocks and made a smaller quilt. I quilted it myself and was able to give it away to a charity. I think it is getting a lot of use!

  28. My favorite quilt is a basket weave made in my school colors (Purdue, old gold and black}
colors going light to dark and lined with flannel. Congrats on the enrollment.

  29. My favorite quilt that I’ve made so far is a Granny Squares quilt (free pattern from Emily at Quilty Love!)I made using an Anne of Green Gables jelly roll and some scraps. Our spare bed is in my sewing room, and the quilt is perfect in that spot!

  30. My favorite quilt is the Labyrinth Walk Quilt. My husband and I picked out the colors together for it many many years ago. We went with a teal, green, soft gray with a green undertone and black it was one of those that I started and then put aside. Then he passed away and I finally finished it. It hangs in our bedroom and down now.

  31. Its hard to pick a favorite quilt, but the one I was most excited to finish was the one I made for my husband. It was a Block of the Month quilt, and he had no idea I was working on it. He just thought I was meeting up with the girls each month for fun. It involved templates and definitely tried my patience and tested my skills, so it got put into “time out” for years at a time. I worked on it over the course of about 21 years, and last Christmas, I was finally able to present him his finished quilt! He was so happy to receive it and I have never been so proud of a project. Its hanging on the wall right now!

  32. Hi Miss Pat! Congrats on the 100, 000 subscribers! That’s pretty darn cool! My most favorite quilt would have to be a quilt I made for my sister. It was a pattern by the Buggy Barn, “If the hat fits.” It’s witches flying on broomsticks. Their little legs dangle! So cute. The lady who quilted it for me did a fantastic job! Thinking about making another one for myself! Thanks again and here’s to 100,000 more! Happy quilting!

  33. My favorite quilt so far that I have finished if the Scrappiness is Happiness sampler quilt by Lori Holt. Mine is totally made from scraps of all kinds. It is so colorful and pretty!

  34. My favourite quilt is the first I ever made. It has EPP, needle turn, applique and piecing. It took me a while to do but love it. I have only been quilting 7 years now.

  35. My favorite quilt in a relatively short quilting life is one of the first I made. It is the first I had long arm quilted too. It is all triangles, made before I knew that triangels we ment to be difficult. The colors are what get me and I never tire looking at it. Many of the fabrics are wovens and batiques. I had yet to find out about the “Quilt Police” I didn’t know that many believe in not mixing fabrics. It was my own design, it is samll and made to hang over our bed where I appreciate if daily!

  36. One of my favorite quilts is a BQ quilt pattern. My daughter is in law enforcement and was done to represent the ” Thin blue line” to support her for all she does for the community ❤

  37. My favorite quilt that I have made is the very first one which was a Quilt in a Day log cabin. I had no idea what value was so the logs blend quite a bit. It was small too. But the memories that go with it are what makes it so special. I learned how to quilt at a retreat with my mom and oldest sister. My mom felt I needed something to do for me. I was a working mom of three small children. I worked nights and my husband worked days. He had golf for his me time. I always had a love of sewing and mom taught me garment sewing at a very young age. She gave me such a gift when she brought me into the quilting fold, and I have never looked back.

  38. The backing is Kaffe Fassett Collective Fruit Mandala fabric. It was quilted by my “spa”, Shelley Norris of Top Stitch Sisters, and I bound it.

  39. My favorite finished quilt is my Shining Brassica quilt. I made the top with all Kaffe Fassett Collective Brassica fabric in my favorite colors, purple and red. Brassica is designed by Philip Jacobs of the Collective. I threw in my son and daughter-in-law’s favorite colors, blue and green respectively. It was based off the pattern Blooming Nine Patch from the book Tradition with a Twist. I bought the book to learn the technique, but I changed the size of the pieces and the layout. I put it in our local quilt show, and to my surprise and delight, it earned the Viewer’s Choice Award which was the only award given at the show. Also, my son, daughter-in-law, grandson, and dad came to see my quilts in the show and spent time with me for my birthday. It was a magical weekend. I also entered my Climbing Roses quilt which is your pattern, and it is a close second favorite!

  40. My Tula Pink Butterfly quilt is my favorite finished quilt. I was encouraged by your sew along and Kendall’s tutorials were a great help. Watch you every morning with my coffee in hand!

  41. If you limit it to finished (haha) I think it would be an I Spy quilt I made using a bunch of my scraps and designing as I went. So fun!

  42. My favorite quilt I finished is a fat quarter pattern called Aviator by Lella Boutique. I made it for our only Grandchild Everett, I collected beautiful tans, browns, vintage reds, blues & a variety of creams for backgrounds. I love that it is done in classic colors nothing too juvenile but has some vintage aviator prints. He’s very proud of his quilt and sleeps with it every night, it’s twin size quilted with small planes and flight path design and has a super soft cuddle fabric for backing. He’s 3.5yrs old now he was 2yrs old when I gave it to him ❤️ knowing he has something special I made just for him makes me vey happy

  43. My favorite finished quilt is my very first quilt that I created back in the winter of 1982. I was unemployed and going to college part-time and living at my parents. It was a pattern from the Better Homes & Gardens magazine (published on 3/8/1977) called “Maple-Leaf Quilt From Scraps.” And that’s exactly what I used, scraps from the leftover fabrics that my sister and I made clothes from when we were in high school (late 70’s). If I am lucky enough to win your beautiful log-cabin quilt Pat I will make you an apron with red polka dots! Love your channel, Debbie Gunderson

  44. My favorite quilt was made using some bright fun fabric from my long awaited dream vacation to Hawaii. I appliquéd sea turtles along with their bubbles. This was such a fun quilt that is a reminder of a fun family vacation.

  45. Hi Pat! My favourite finished quilt is a baby quilt I made for my good friend Eileen as a “Grandma Quilt”. I used the Monkey Business pattern from the FQS and added borders to the left and top with 9 patch blocks of brown and blue and sock monkey fabric. I backed it with a red plaid flannel and she loved it when it was recieved!

  46. My favorite quilt is probably the Macaron Mystery from Cheryl Brickey. I picked bright spring colors and used a happy daisy quilting pattern – it just makes me smile = )
Thanks for everything you do for all of us!!
