The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said
"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"
Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

My favorite quilt is a Bullseye Quilt by Country Threads. It used up a lot of my scrap stash as well as odds and ends thread. Came out beautiful (if I do say so myself). Thank you for the opportunity to win your red quilt – RED,RED, EVERYTHING RED!
My favorite are three memory quilts using mom’s clothes following her passing. The clothes sat in a box for 14 months and finally I was emotionally prepared to cut up the items. These lap quilts went to me and my two siblings in 2022 at Christmas.
My favorite quilt to date is a Grinch quilt I recently made for my 40 year old daughter. I used the large Grinch panel and the Grinch face panel. Cut up the faces and put borders on them and arranged them around the larger panel. It was so fun to make and she loved it! This was my first panel quilt…so quick!
Thank you Pat for all the content you share and congratulations on 100k subscribers!!
My favorite quilt was an Amish style throw quilt I made for my daughter many years ago. I love Amish quilts. I need to make another one.
My favorite quilt must be a baby quilt because I made it twice! It’s a pattern in blues and greens with three big colorful appliquéd fish. It’s such a happy, easy pattern.
My favorite quilt? Mercy, that’s a hard question! I guess it’s probably my scrappy half log cabin with scrappy leaves done in fall colors. But I love my pumpkin quilt a lot too!
My favorite quilt would be my first one for a nephew that was black and teal half square triangles.
My favorite quilt was Woven Star, made with 1930’s reprints. It was made with pastel colors and off white background. I made it for my oldest daughter 12 years ago. She will display it hanging over the stair railing. I asked her why she didn’t put it on her bed. (It was queen size). She was afraid it would get dirty. I’ve often thought about making another one for myself.
My favorite quilt and loved by most everyone who sees it is the Bringing Home The Tree quilt. It was a challenge for me but I worked my way through it and I learned alot! Thanks Pat for your knowledge!
My favorite quilt I have finished was last year’s FQS charity quilt, Heartfelt and was able to gift to my mom. My mom and grandmother taught me how to sew and appreciate quilts!
My favourite quilt is a mystery quilt that I max my daughter for Xmas one year. She still uses it to snuggle up and watch tv with her family.
My favorite quilt was a strip pieced all in plaids. Center strip in black set on point to make diamonds. Pieced on muslin. Gave to my grandson 2 years ago for Christmas.
My favorite quilt was the one that I made for my daughter’s wedding present, it was a sampler quilt using the curve ruler, it was king size and the colors were different tones of yellow and light and dark grey.
Hard to chose a favorite quilt. I have so many quilts that mean a lot to me. I was most excited to do a year holiday quilt with the sparkly fabrics I collected and the Charlie Brown and the gang holidays. The last holiday needed was Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. It took a few years to collect the fabrics. Starting new quilts is always exciting and a joy to work on. Thanks Pat.
My favorite quilt I have made is Dear Jane. I learned so much making it. My 29 year old son is the person I gave it to. He was with me all the way looking at my blocks and fabrics. My husband as well. I congratulate you on 100,000 subscribers! I’ve been with you for more than a decade. My grandson thinks you are my best friend. Haha!!! Thank you for all the videos and free quilt alongs!!!
My favorite finished quilt is the only one I’ve made (new quilter here) — a three yard Mickey and Minnie quilt for a new baby
Pat – thanks for all you do for all of us.
Congratulations on reaching 100,000 subscribers! My favorite finished quilt is my Hello Birdie quilt that I made with Kaffe Fassett scraps leftover from a mystery quilt. It is bright and cheery!
In 2016 I made a quilt from row patterns collected in the Row by Row Experience, a nationwide event involving many shops from every state. I decided to gather patterns from our neighboring state of Iowa and my husband took a few days and went with me. The theme that year was Home Sweet Home; I love that quilt and have kept it. It holds so many memories of seeing new places, picnics along the Mississipi and sharing it all with my husband.
I love my scrappy quilts the best. I also love to display different quilts throughout the year and have favorites all year long. It’s really difficult to choose just one! It’s wonderful to fall in love with fabric and then create!
I made a mystery quilt during a very busy, stressful time at work. Having to assemble my fabric quickly, I used calicos, batiks, florals and other patterns. There was concern about the finished look; would it be too scrappy? It is definitely my favorite quilt and I have loved very scrappy quilts ever since!
I love my Childhood Memories quilt we did for block Wednesday this year, it was an Alice in Wonderland themed quilt. I added in extra Alice characters panels to bring out the theme and replicated some of the blocks to fit into the spaces, I even added a block with appliqué hearts. It was quilted by the long armer with an Alice pantograph, white rabbit watch, hearts, playing cards, teapots and the mad hatter’s hat. It brought back so many childhood memories while making each block, it is part of me. Thank you Pat
My favorite quilt is one I made for my granddaughter with horses and flowers. She just loves it!
My favorite quilt is my first quilt in 1990. It was a 12 block sampler quilt from an adult ed. class. It started my whole quilting journey in which I am still enjoying and learning new techniques all the time. Thanks Pat for your fun and informative you tube channel.
My favorite quilt I made was a twisted triangle. I think it was Helen Browne pattern and I got to meet her in Paducah , Kentucky Love watching your videos. Thank you
Barbara
My Favorite Quilt that I have finished was
Large, full-sized quilt with many scalloped border designs as the rows in the quilt.
❤️❤️🫶🏼 it.
My completed quilt,a colorful 10″ string blocks, quilt as you go.Every color set together with black and white polka dot strips.I used up so many scraps, taught myself a hard lesson, made so many great memories, while on retreat with my sister and our quilt group. I had read the joining method quite some time ago. Not thinking, my finished joining strips are 1/2! Its a queen size and I ended up in so much pain, neck and shoulders from 3 days of intense work. Thankfully I had ibuprofen and also a massseuse at our retreat. It is probably the hardest quilt Ive ever made but filled with many memories, label block(strips from my sis) and a lesson learned, wider joining strips next time…lol..love watching you Pat.
My favorite quilt that I have finished is a batik flower one I made in the middle of winter in anticipation of spring and summer. It felt like winter would never end and I wanted to have a cheerful quilt to put on my porch. Making it helped chase away the winter blues!
My favorite quilt is one I made using leftover cut offs. It’s a queen size and I used to different sized cut offs in it. I just love it.
My favorite quilt was the one I made for my oldest daughter after she was married. I took nine pictures from her wedding and made them into a quilt. They hung it in there bedroom where it still hangs 12 years later. I don’t think I could have imagined how much they love that quilt. I am still proud of it to this day.
My favorite quilt is a simple Christmas tree (I think it might be a free pattern from FQS but I’m not certain) that I made with batik winter and holiday fabrics. I use it all winter since it’s not especially Christmas themed. The quilting is blowing snow flakes that seem to fit the feel of the quilt.
My favorite quilt I have ever made was a denim pieced quilt with a flannel backing for my hubby (boyfriend at the time). I made it to fit inside his 2000 Kenworth Semi sleeper. He hated listening to the truck run when it was cold at nights, so I made him this quilt. He called me from over-the-road the first time he used it. He said it was 30 degrees outside, but he slept like a baby with the truck off and under the quilt I made him. I think that pretty much sealed the deal and we’ve been married over 19 years.
My favorite quilt I made was a appliqued paper doll quilt for a great niece. She just turned 15.
I’m a new quilter. My favorite finished quilt is a trip around the world, made in a class at Quilt in a day. I love your videos!!
My favorite quilt I finished was for my 90 year old mom. It’s a beautiful star pattern called “Memories” and I made it as a memory quilt using fabrics she gave me, leftover from her many years of sewing. I chose all the fabrics that had been used for my mom’s dresses, blouses, and aprons; which, being Mennonite, is what she always wears. My mom loves hand quilting, so I quilted it by hand using floral and hummingbird designs. For years my mom had the idea that if something is special it should be saved instead of being used, and many of her quilts are usually stored away. My mom is now 94, my dad is 96, and yes they still live in their own home. It makes me so happy to visit and see the quilt I made on their bed, being used and enjoyed.
One of my favorites is turning twenty again. I know it is not one of your patterns, but it was one I did as a beginner and before Pat’s inspiration.
Hi Pat,
My favorite quilt I made lately was a Bug quilt. Fun making the mason jars with bugs in them with some appliqué critters on it.
Reminded me of your critter quilt you are making.
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge in your videos!
Evelyn Stevens
My most favorite quilt I’ve ever made is a Stack-N-Whack quilt using Teacup themed fabric. I made this quilt for the very special friend who started me on my quilting journey more than 40 years ago. She was a beloved co-worker who loved to piece and quilt by hand. I never tried hand piecing but collected books for a while then started quilting with polyester double knit (ugh). The quilt I made for her was made to honor her second retirement. She is gone now but I have many fond memories of the many years I spent working alongside her and traveling with her.
I made a double wedding rings quilt for my daughter that was not a favorite to do but after completing is my favorite! Because I appreciate it was work! Used several methods lol. She picked the colors and they are stunning!
The Summer Camp quilt from last year is my favorite quilt right now. I made it dark background and backing so I really could drag it to camp and it not show dirty. I took it to boy scout camp along with my 2 sons this summer and a few other camp outs with them since. Its great memories being made.
My favorite quilt is a scrappy one made out of all vintage fabric and that I hand quilted
My favorite quilt is my first log cabin.
1992- made it for my first son while pregnant with the second.
Thought he needed something special.
Queen size in muted maroons, blues and creams probably not his taste then but that was the bolts in the quilt store.
No fat quarters then
Took a class and loved getting out of the house.
He uses to this day.
My moose quilt is my favorite so far
It’s hard to pick a favorite quilt. But I think it would have to be the birthday cake quilt I made for my sister Bonnie. Made with Bonnie Lane layer cake
My favorite quilt I’ve made is a blue and white Double Irish Chain with a Seminole border. The fabrics were purchased on one of our trips to New England and Canada.
My favourite quilt was a sampler quilt with six inch blocks. It was an opportunity for me to get hooked on appliqué and I loved it.
My favorite is a flannel quilt that has forever touched my heart. Made for my dad in 2003 when he became bedridden, it became the one constant that calmed him and was used every day and night for the next 9 months, no matter the temperature. It was a tan and blue nine patch with every other block a square fussy-cut toile depicting images of children in the 30s building snowmen, sledding, walking through snow covered firs with friends, a barn on a hill etc. The borders were clusters of snow-laden firs. I display it all winter and continues to bring me peace as well.
My favorite quilt was made with a panel print of kitties dressed in frilly dresses and bonnets. I paired it with bright pastel reproduction prints. My mother-in-law had given me the panel. The quilt went to my granddaughter. It was one the first quilts I made after I retired. The pattern was featured in Love of Quilting magazine.
My favorite quilt so far is chandelier by Vanessa Goertzen. Used strawberries and cream material. Love the look.
I am fairly new at quilting. I started during covid. But, I have a very demanding full time job that I have to travel for, my office 1-1.5 hours away, have a husband and 2 teenage kids. So, needless to say, I don’t have too much time for quilting. I have finished a few tops, the most recent is FQS 2022 Designer Mystery Quilt Along and I am very proud of how it turned out. One of my first projects was a log cabin, only, four blocks, it was sold as a wall hanging but it hangs on the back of my recliner. I enjoy quilting so much, and one day I will have more time! I just collect fabrics for now. LOL!,
My favorite “finished” quilt was one I made for our first granddaughter in 2012. It was appliqued jungle animals wearing shoes. I used mostly batiks and enjoyed every minute of putting it together. Our son and his wife had been married for over 10 years when they announced we were going to be grandparents. They’ve had 2 more since then and they are such a special blessing.
