The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said
"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"
Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Ok – we aren’t supposed to pick favorites, but my Storm at Sea would be The One! This was one of my bucket list patterns and I used all aqua blue and green batiks and variegated thread for the quilting and binding. Even the machine sewn binding turned out perfect. I used a wave decorative stitch (like the Kanagawa wave in Japanese prints) on the edge and it aligned on the front and back of the binding. Very infrequently for me, everything comes together – that is why this is The One!
My favorite finished quilt is probably the first quilt I ever totally finished. It was for my grandson, (while he was still “cooking”). It was made with included fabric from the shirt my son wore on his first date with his wife, my grandsons mama. Yes, he still had it, Lol. The pattern was part other pattern and my own design making, and I embroidered at the top and bottom of the quilt some sayings and for my grandson.
My log cabin quilt made with Fig Tree fabrics and backed with cozy minky is my favorite finish this year.
My favor quilt that made is Exploding heartI never done a quilt like this it was fun. I been quilting for about 3 years. Thank you miss Pat.
My favorite quilt (it’s hard to choose) would be a quilt I made using the 54/40 of Fight block alternating with the Shoofly block resulting in the allusion of curves. Used my favorite colors green and purple. In fact I made two. The first I donated for a charity auction and since I loved it so much, made another for myself. Congrats on 100K Pat.
My favorite quilt was one that I didn’t really like that much while making it. I love applique but once I started on it, it wasn’t my usual style. It was my bear quilt. Lots of blocks with bears camping in the woods. I like more beachy looking quilts. My little 3 yr old grandson just happened to see it when it was about halfway done and he loved it. He said that day that this is his. I finished it up and gave it to him for Christmas last year and he loved it. He had so many amazing toys and other gifts but he loved his “blanket”. I will forever love that quilt because I know he loves it.
My favorite quilt is a quilt I made inspired by the Summer Moon book. I made 8” blocks.
I have a tie for two most favorite quilts ever, for totally different reasons. I did a round robin quilt with dear quilting friends in the late 90’s. That quilt went back and forth from the US to New Zealand (back in the dial up era of internet as a form of communication…my mind can still hear the sounds of that). It’s precious for so many reasons, it’s cute, each border had specific meaning to both the maker and me as the recipient, and during the process of these quilts I learned to much and grew as a quilter. One of my dearest quilting friends at that time participated and she has passed now, so it makes it even more special to me.
My second favorite was one I finished last fall. It’s a pumpkin quilt and I adore it! I had an almost 15 year hiatus in quilting as I worked full time and my 3 sons were in every activity known to man, we moved, etc. Then during the pandemic I cleaned out my storage room, determined to get rid of anything we hadn’t used since our move. I opened those quilty bins and the minute I touched the fabrics and tools I felt the urge to create once again. I found your videos (thank you!!) and a few others and then realized how much had changed in those 15 years (what? we don’t wash every fabric?? we can purchase fabric already cut into strips? Where did all these bright colors come from?). I saw a quilt on a blog or video somewhere and tracked down an old copy of the magazine it was from, gathered new fabrics (for fun…I still had a ton), and began. I made a queen sized quilt instead of a throw so I could put it on my bed. THEN I long arm quilted it! My very first one. I am so darn proud of that quilt! Not perfect by any means, but it sure inspired me in every way possible and I smile every time I think of it. As of September 1 it will be back on my bed for the fall season.
Thanks for a fun blog/YT videos. It truly is something I look forward to watching as I can. And during covid lock down it was a lifeline of connection and I could never thank you enough for that.
Congrats on your milestone! You deserve that and much more.
My current favorite finished quilt is called Flo – it’s a pixelated flamingo! My quilt quild had a picnic that was a Flamingle and I made it for that. Now she is hanging on the wall in my dining room and makes me smile everytime I look at her.
Thanks for all your videos and sew alongs! Diane
My favorite quilt is an sew a long with Lori Holt about 10 years ago. It hangs on my kitchen wall . It is about 60 x 72. done in lots of scrappy colors. Congratulations on getting 100.000 subscribers.
My favorite quilt is the baby quilt I made for our first Great-Grandson. Colors included blues, whites and yellows. It had prairie points around the borders. I loved that feature of the quilt.
I made a quilt for my daughter using oranges, golds and black. She had purchased a cloth bag with those colors but wasn’t using it any more. So I cut up the purse, with wonderful designs on front and back, and added fabric to coordinate. She still uses it after all these years.
I made a baby quilt for my first grandson and it won a prize at during the local quilt show. First time I ever entered.
Several years ago I made a quilt from the book called Patches of Blue by Edyta Sitar… it has applique ,set in seams, and lots of small pieces! I endured through it!…Love how this quilt turned out
My first quilt was a penguin quilt for my daughter. As I look at it today I see all the mistakes that are in it. But then I also see how much my daughter loves it and uses it daily makes my heart melt. So that is my favorite quilt. Mistakes and all.
My favorite qulit is a lap size I made for my mom . It was my second qulit and the way she treasured it made me feel so special ! She would show it off to everyone
My favorite quilt is my “All About Me” quilt. I made every block a different fabric and it is all things that I love/like. I have foods, sports, places I have travelled as well as hobbies.
My favourite quilt that I have finished is one called Dear Daughter. I made it for my daughter who just graduated from high school. I used scraps from all the clothing I made for her when she was little. I actually had to ask a friend for a garment that I gave her to get the fabric back to use it in the quilt because I didn’t have any scraps left. Thank you for all your do.
Hi Pat,
My favorite quilt is my first mystery quilt I made several years ago. It is scrappy and was challenging because since it was a mystery I didn’t know if I’d like it or if I’d be able to do it because they introduced several new techniques. It sits in my family room. Thank you for all you do, I love learning from you!
My favorite quilt is your Oh My Stars quilt…everyone in the family have a version of it!😁
My first quilt Stay At Home is my favorite, which is your pattern.
Which I gave to my daughter. Followed up by Home Is, I kept that one.
Thank you for all you do !
My favorite quilt is one that I designed myself for my granddaughter. I used the shapes from Fisher Price stitch cards that my older daughter got when she was a child. It just seem to bring two special events together.
My favorite quilt is my Secret Lives of Color quilt. I enjoyed reading about the colors: the history, origin, and use over time. I like scrap quilts and this was such a great use of my scraps. I also re-worked the layout and added some additional colors from the book. Most of my quilts have been sampler block style (block Wednesday quilts) and this is one of the few quilts I have made using the same block pattern.
I saw that online. Very unique.
My favorite quilt was stitched during 2020 with fabric I had collected for years. It was a quilt along on one day. Elvira. Teals, jades and greens.
I haven’t made a favorite yet, I love them all and usually give them away to people I love.
Congratulations on 100k subscribers! My favorite quilt is a baby quilt I made for my dear friend
It has several animals pieced on it and minky backing
I probably quilted it to death but baby won’t care.
My favorite quilt would have to be the Millennium quilt I made in 2000. It was a big undertaking since I had just started quilting. So much fun to swap with quilters all over the world to get the 2000 squares I needed for the quilt.
My favourite quilt was a hugs and kisses quilt that was made with lots of scraps. I ended up making it bigger and had to add another background fabric. It was my first scrap quilt and it is still my favourite. Thanks for all your videos, sew alongside and positivity!
My hardest quilt and my favorite is Log Cabin Crazies. I made it with a group of six ladies, which evokes special memories of special times spent together in a wonderful quilt shop that is no longer there….
I think my favourite quilt is the one i made the year of Covid. I had started quilting many years ago, but my knees got bad so I couldn’t stand to cut and had difficulty sitting to do it accurately. Then I had two knee replacements, was just recovered enough to start again, and was in a car crash, which resulted in me spending 6 months in a wheel chair and 2 years in physio. I wrecked my right ankle (needing a replacement eventually) so switched to a machine with a push button start/stop. I decided I had to jump back into quilting or give it up. So I signed on to Kathryn Kerr’s 365 challenge quilt, making one block a day for a year. The smallest pieced blocks are 3″ x 3″. I did it! I was and am so proud of myself for completing the queen sized quilt in just over a year! One of the blocks had over 150 pieces and the entire quilt had more than 11,100 pieces!
My favorite quilt was my first quilt, which I made for my oldest son when he returned home from South Africa after being gone for two years. He used it so much that it wore out, and isn’t that the best compliment you could pay a quilter? Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers.
My favorite quilt was one of the first ones I made many years ago. Back then I mainly made clothes and smocked dresses for my daughter. But I found this pattern in a magazine, fell in love with it and made I believe, 5 of these quilts. It was a quilt as you go log cabin quilt. My favorite one of these was made out of white based and black based music note fabric. I really liked how the quilt turned out! I used red for the center squares, the rest was all black and white. My son was in the High School band and I donated the quilt to the band to auction off to raise funds for their yearly trip.
My favourite quilt is my latest, noughts and crosses, I see to finally managed binding, free motion and more accurate blocks. All this thanks to you and your guidance over the last few years. Love your channel, than’ you.
My most favorite quilt that I made was from my scraps dating back to 1990. I’m so happy I saved all those fabrics. I sewed them together after cutting them into small rectangles measuring approximately 2 1/2 x 3 inches. It is approximately lap size . I used the wave stitch to quilt it 😊
Thank you for all you do Pat. You have made me a better quilter by all that you share.
My favorite quilt was made in a class I was attending. Someone found the pattern in a magazine; it was like a sampler quilt mixed with a medallion quilt. Each block had a square the same size in the middle of it. We all used different fabrics and fussy cut something for the middle of each square. I used a fat quarter pack I got from the Fat Quarter Shop and bought extra for sashing & borders. The fabric was a mixture of yellows and greys with some black and had bees & beehives on it. I had a bee in the centre of each square. It lives on my bed.
My favorite quilt is called Trellis. It’s rows of flowers joined by leaves. The flowers are constructed with 4 petals formed by sewing and flipping one side to form a curve. It’s very simple to make and my favorite part is that it doesn’t have any seams to match. So it comes out perfect every time.
My favorite quilt to date is the quilt I made with blue and beige scrappy strips.. when I look at it I think if all the quilts I’ve made for others, love remembering who’s I made from each scrap!! I’m a scrappy girl❤️❤️
My favorite quilt is the Barn Star quilt. I loved making it!
Hi Pat, my favourite quilt to date is the Secret Lives of Colour done with you as a sew along. It is currently on my couch in the living room and gets many comments. I thoroughly enjoyed making the quilt as well as reading the book chapters as we went. Thank you for all the effort you put in and adding even more enjoyment to our quilting lives. I don’t usually watch live (in Australia and it is late) but look forward to it early next morning.
My favourite quilt is Emily’s Wedding Quilt, a pattern by Liz Porter. I made it in 30’s reproduction fabrics. It was fun and challenging, took a while but no swear words were uttered. Lol. I gifted it to a very special couple.
I made a cute dinosaur quilt for my nephew’s child. This was my first baby quilt and I think it turned out fabulous!
My favorite quilt is always the one I just finished, lol. But my favorite quilt ever is a memory photo quilt made by my sister in law for my 65th birthday. There are photos of the two of us on our road trip quilting adventures. I cherish it and our wonderful memories
My favorite quilt at the moment is one that I made for my great nephew with a rail fence in the center and a pieces lions head above it. So cute.
My favorite quilt was my daughter’s wedding quilt a Celtic knot on one side and Japanese folded origami cranes on the back to celebrate both cultures. It hangs in her living room
My favorite quilt was Peter Cottontail quilt that I made as I anxiously awaited the birth of my daughter in 1991. The theme of her room was, of course Beatrix Potter and I really loved how it all came together.
My favorite was a Safari with animals appliquéd in each block for our safari themed vacation Bible school.
My favorite quilt I made was my summer camp sew along from last year. I used the Frankie line from fat quarters. The best part of finishing this quilt is when I gifted it to my sister. She loved it.
I have made quilts for my family and friends but the one I love best was for my younger sister . I had made here several little things and then one day, she said “you haven’t made me a quilt”. So I got busy thinking about what would be a good one for her. She likes pinks and pastels and I don’t have much of those colors in my stash. I did have some polka dot fabric in different pastels and that’s what I went with. Made a pinwheel quilt with the pinks, purples, blues, and greens in small and med. dots and set them in diagonal rows. It turned out so great and I was happy with it. Gave it to her for her B-day and for her retirement . TWO/2 gifts in one. She was thrilled and uses it alot!
My favorite quilt is an hand appliqued quilt. Its has a white background with pots of colorful flowers with leaves. The border has a scalloped edge. The border was a challenge as this was my first time to attempt anything like this.
