The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

1,214 Responses

  1. Each one of the baby quilts I made for my grandchildren and great grandchildren was a favorite at one time or another.

  2. I did your Fall Frolic. I loved it. My daughter died in 2020 and I did not have a lot to get me back thru, so I started sewing again. Thank you for helping me deal with my grief. I still have my days, but I just head to my “she shed” and start sewing.

  3. My favorite quilt is a log cabin that was my first quilt I made it for my teenage son in 1992 which he still has that quilt today that’s when I fell in love with quilting it was shades of blue and cheap fabrics so a little f faded today but we both love this quilt

  4. My favorite quilt was a recent finish, it is a Scrappy Irish Chain that Corey Yoder had introduced as a sew along. I really like the finished quilt but I loved making it.

  5. My favorite quilt is one that I made for my sister. I used the Swoon pattern by Camille. I put squares from a panel for the middle part of each block. It turned out great!

  6. I made an Oh My Stars for my first grandchild and it is my favorite quilt ever! Thanks for the lovely pattern.

  7. My first quilt is my favorite a log cabin quilt that I maded for my teen age son in 1992 which he still has this quilt as of today I learned a lot on this quilt

  8. My favorite quilt I have made was for my 5 year old son. He wanted a super hero quilt, it’s my favorite because my points matched up, my quilting looked good, and my binding turned out pretty close to great. 😃

  9. My favorite quilt was my first one. It was for the kindergarden teacher of my youngest of my four kids. It was blocks with a little hand appliquéd in each.

  10. I made a quilt for my husband out of blue, brown & gray plaid flannels. I used these same fabrics to make our two boys quilts for becoming Eagle Scouts. My husband had been their leader for years so I wanted to tie all of the quilts together. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful quilts.

  11. My favorite quilt is my first one. I took a quilting class and it was a Sampler. I loved learning all the different patterns and used some of my favorite colors for the blocks. I do not even have to see the quilt to start remembering all the fun I had in that class. Unfortunately the teacher passed and her husband honored her by displaying all of her fabulous quilts in the local High School Gymnasium for everyone to see. Ahhh, for the love of quilting!

  12. My favorite quilted item I’ve ever made was a large fabric autograph book for an educator at my children’s elementary school. She was retiring and had been the director of the Library/Media Center. It had a quilted schoolhouse block for the cover (of course) and every student in the entire school signed it. I made a page for each class at each grade level, kindergarten through 5th grade. There were over 30 classes in all and more than 900 students. Putting it together was a challenge, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. Yay teachers!

  13. My favorite quilt I have ever made is HOME IS … with Pat Sloan! I did it in Sunflowers and Bees… black and yellow/golds! Many wanted it…. I ended up selling it to a lady who works with my husband who gave it to her mother for her birthday! I plan to make another on in CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!! Same color scheme! Thank you Pat Sloan!!!❤️❤️❤️

  14. Oh my, how to choose! My favorite is a 16 patch alternating with hexi flowers and set on point. The pattern is from Sheri McConnell and I just love it!

  15. I’m so sorry, I’m so beginner that I haven’t make many quilts, but I have to say that a first library quilt I made for my Nurse (RN) daughter it’s my favorite as right now. I bough the pattern from Missouri Star Quilt and Jenny made easy for people like me, who are still shaking a little about keep making mistakes. Her pattern uses 10” squares saw on a “5 strips (background) and then just cutting the 10” square, which ends at 15”, into strips who become the books, and we just randomly choose different width of fabric who get saw together until a block of 12” books get put together. I loved the method because I got the opportunity to make my book strips straight and have better accuracy with my piecing.

  16. One of my favorite quilts was a gift to son and family. They own a motor home and my daughter-in-law saw the pattern of a trailer and pine trees, whichever she loved. I made it with a motor home for Christmas. They love it and so do I.

  17. I was working on sewing 5” 50’s fabric squares together, not knowing what was going to do with it. Than I received word my sister broke her waist. The answer was solved, she needed it. It is a bright and cheery quit that as so fun to sew.

  18. I really loved the quilt I made for my very first Great Nephew. His Mom (my niece) was so happy with it she beamed!

  19. My favorite quilt is one I made when I was expecting my daughter, who is now 34 years old. It is a baby size panel quilt constructed with matching blue calico fabric, and has a clown motif.
I added a thin batting, a border and a gathered ruffled binding. It is a treasured quilt full of memories holding my newborn daughter.

  20. My favorite quilt was for my grandson’s ninth birthday. He loved a Marvel character named Groot, so I designed a Groot quilt for him! He loved it!

  21. My favorite quilt that I made was for my husband- a king size blooming bargello made with black, greys and mauves. I saw a picture of a blooming bargello quilt and at the time, it had no pattern where I could purchase it. So I used my EQ8 to design it my way. He just loves it.

  22. My favorite quilt is the one currently on my bed, it is baskets blocks in peach and green, my now deceased quilting buddy Jeri helped me with the final push to finish it.

  23. My favorite quilt is a block of the month mystery by children gave me for my birthday! I have it hanging in my guest room. Thanks for all you do Pat!

  24. My favorite quilt is the rainbow bargello quilt. It was a challenge, but a lot of fun to sew! Thanks for offering your quilt!

  25. My favorite quilt was a project my quilt guild did several years ago. It was a stack and wack pattern. Fabric becomes so different than it’s original look using this method.

  26. My favorite quilt I have ever made was a blue and white log cabin. I made it for my father in law. Andthe first queen sized quilt that I made. Many mistakes in it, but it was well loved.

  27. My first completed quilt was and applique dress on a dress form that I programmed into my Bernina to do the satin stitch around.

  28. My favorite quilt is the one I just finished for myself! I haven’t made one for myself in years. It is a Trip Around the World following Kate from The Last Homely House pattern made with Kaffe Fassett fabrics, purple and teal florals. It is gorgeous! My quilter, Sherry did a fabulous quilting pattern. Congrats Pat, 100,000 WOW!! Blessings, Dawn

  29. My favorite quilt is the one I call my Bluebird quilt. I made it in 2020 and it got me through the pandemic. I also made a quilt with darker bluebirds early this year. I call it Nancy’s quilt for my SIL who was dying. The two quilts are so beautiful they made my heart sing! My SIL has since passed away but I have enough fabric left to make one just like hers.

  30. I have two favorite quilts. They are Mod Halloween and Mod Christmas. I learned to do applique with these quilts. They are patterns by JediCraftGirl. I have had cats most of my adult life, so I enjoy cat quilts so very much!

  31. My favorite quilt is the one I made for my grandson several years ago. He was really into trains and I found a beautiful train panel that had a pattern that went with it. I made that for him and displayed it at several fairs. It was a beautiful quilt if I do say so, and because of it I was commissioned to make another train quilt for a special needs adult.

  32. My favorite quilt is the first one I’ve ever made. It was the very beginning of my quilt making journey. (I’ve only made 5 so far)! I’ve always loved fabrics & had been collecting for years. I love the stories each design tells. I didn’t know the difference between cheap fabrics & quilting cottons. So my 1st quilt is made using all qualities of Christmas designs. Why? Because I’ve always loved Christmas & my favorite color has always been RED! The perfect pairing!!! I sewed a quilt top in a class at our local quilt shop. Lots of wonky seams that the teacher later taught me how to square up. I wondered if it would be a waste of money sending this off to the quilters. Oh my gosh! I hope to never lose the memory of what I felt when I pulled my quilted “misfit’ out of that bag! I couldn’t believe my eyes, how beautiful it was & the pride I felt! Now, every year for Christmas, on the day after Thanksgiving, I have my own quiet tradition. I look for the quilt bag I made from the quilt’s scraps, gently pull it down from the linen shelf. As I open & unfold my first creation, I don’t even notice those “not-so-1/4-inch” seams or the few blocks w/ thin, cheap fabrics. Instead, I’m reminded of each new quilty friend I made in that first class, their openess to welcome me into a community that I once thought was intimidating. A community that reaches across the world & is a common language in all cultures! I love my quilted misfits & the reminder of how many blessings one can receive by just taking that first step on a new journey😊

  33. My favourite quilt I made is my first one. My daughter begged me to make her one but I insisted i didn’t know how but she kept saying you can do it mom. I finally caved and tried. Many mistakes were made but she still uses that quilt every night and seeing how happy it makes her makes it my favourite. Because of her I’m now obsessed with quilting and love it. I absolutely love your videos Pat.

  34. Hi Pat! My favorite finished quilt is the Oh My Stars, medium size, that I began in April of 2020. It is made with Cory Yoders, Cozy Up fabric charm packs!! I really love it! And that you for this chance to receive one of your awesome quilts!

  35. Hi Pat,
My most favorite quilt I made is the one that I just finished. It was a Lori Holt Quilt along sampler. Lori’s was made with red and white fabrics. I used teal and red fabrics that I had collected over a few years and was looking for the perfect pattern to use them. I love the color combo. It makes my heart sing.

  36. My most favorite quilt I have made is Pat Sloan’s “Glow”. I admired it for a very long time as it was displayed behind her on her videos. I so enjoyed making it and love the finish project!!

  37. My favorite quilt is the one I made for my son before he was born. Last year I remade the quilt because it had fallen apart over the past 49 yrs. So I remade it for his first grand daughter and gave it to her.

  38. My favorite quilt that I made was for my 50 year high school class reunion. Our school colors for the Nazareth, Pennsylvania, Blue Eagles were royal blue and white. I used an AccuQuilt die to cut all the pieces. It was a generous Queen sized quilt. It was auctioned off at the reunion and made nearly $800 for our class.

  39. My most favorite quilt is a recent finish, Aviary, wool applique on flannel. I hand appliquéd and hand quilted it. I’m keeping this one!

  40. Friend of mine loves cats and gardening. During a rough time for her I sent a quilt with a cat in state fabric for all 50 states. Loved making it for her and I know she enjoys it. A chance to keep connected across many miles. Thank you for all you do and the community you have brought together.

  41. My favorite quilt is a Seven Sisters quilt I made for my family that included 7 sisters, 5 brothers and of course a 13th block honoring my parents. We hav lost two siblings now so I am so thankful I made and shared the quilt almost 20 years ago.

  42. My favorite quilt is a fox quilt from Elizabeth Hartman pattern made in oranges with a gray background. I made it for my first grandchild who is now 7 years old.

  43. My most favorite quilt is Vintage Moments done in 30s reproductions. I like it so much that I want to do it in Batiks too. Maybe 2024 for that.

  44. My favorite quilt is the Ariel quilt I made for my dauther with The Secret Winder Garden bundle. She sent me a video of her opening the package and it brought tears to my eyes!
