The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

  1. The I spy half square triangle zig-zag for our first grandson has been my favorite quilt to make. I made a booklet to go with it with several ideas how to use the quilt for fun games, matching, making up stories, etc.

  2. i love to make alphabet quilts as baby quilts. My favorite was the Dr Suess panel that I have used a few times>

  3. My favorite quilt was made from you. Won’t you be my neighbor. In almost all of the house windows I put dogs. I love dogs and I love my quilt!

  4. My fav was a simple starting quilt using fabric others gave me. The pattern was just squares. Remembering back it was so challenging to sew straight seams and determine the order of the blocks. Asking others for help was a waste of time. All I heard was: It is all good, Your choice, whatever pleases you. Funny is I give that same advise to new quilters now
    too.

  5. My favorite quilt I made was Sun Bonnet Girl that I made for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday. I used the pink material that I used to make her bassinet cover and had fun finding fabric for the hats and dresses. My granddaughter is 15 years now.

  6. Just love your videos, I get so much info from things haven’t thought about, my favorite videos are your scrap videos that inspired me to clean up and tidy up, I’m already starting on a puff quilt for my couch that my dogs have taken over, I’m looking into buying myself a chair, so I have a place to sit!

  7. One of my favorite quilts is the one I made from the Southwest Washington Shop Hop a few years ago, it hangs on the wall above my bed.

  8. My favourite quilt is one I made in 2005, various blocks of stylized flowers, one with a beehive, one with a foxglove, all hand turned appliqué and each block hand quilted in a different pattern.

  9. My favorite quilt is my Snowman Collector one that I made a few years back. I actually made two of them and while one was gifted to a friend (who loves her quilt), I still have mine and absolutely love it.

  10. My favorite quilt is a sew sampler box exclusive Christmas packages so cute!!
My longarmer quilted Christmas designs all over it.

  11. My favorite quilt is one I made in a sew along from a quilting magazine several years ago. I had this wild idea that I was going to use up ALL my scraps to cut hundreds of 1 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch rectangles to make this very scrappy quilt. Well, I was half right. I did cut enough rectangles; but I didn’t even come close to using up all my scraps! Oh, well.

  12. My favorite quilt was a Texas star that I made into an eagle, with stars in each corner. It was for my girlfriend that was military and from Texas. I made it in red, white, and blue colors. She love it!

  13. Hello Pat, my favorite quilt I have made and finished is a Lori Holt christmas one, it is the one on the Vintage Christmas book. I really love how it turned out.
Thank you for all you do for us Pat!

  14. My favorite quilt is the first one I made. In memory of my sister who encouraged me to learn to quilt. She loved dragonflies and when I saw the fabric, I knew it had to be done in her favorite color. I know she would love it. One day I will gift it to her only grandchild.

  15. My most recent favorite is a all-green scrappy version of the Fat Quarter Shop’s Brick House pattern. I used vintage fabric on the back and quilted it in a pistachio Glide thread that just looks awesome. Working on the binding now. Last year, I made a red version with brown roofs. Next year, I will pick another monochromatic color and pull from my stash system to make it again.

  16. My all time favorite quilt I made was the bookcase quilt. I found it so much fun placing books and knick knacks on the shelves. The quilt is large and people entering the room take a double take. At first glance they think I have a bookcase on my wall. So fun when they realize it is a quilt!

  17. My favorite quilt is my first quilt that I made from left over fabrics that I had made my kids play clothes from. I had not quilted and had only watched Eleanor Burns on the local PBS channel. This quilt is pinwheels surrounded by black sashing. I hand quilted within the pinwheels once I sandwiched the quilt! Th quilt took several years to complete and is probable 30 years old now. I have had to put a new binding on it, but it is still loved and very useable!!!

  18. Hi Pat!
I haven’t “finished” a lot of quilts – so, the one I love the most that is finished and hanging in my office to enjoy is the “BoHo Heart” by Jen Kingwell. I made it a couple years ago during a sew along and I love how it turned out.
Thanks for all you do and being Real!
    Diane

  19. Hi Pat. My current favorite quilt is a rainbow quilt I designed myself. Thanks for keeping me company while I stitch and sew!! Laura

  20. I made a Heather Ross fabric quilt with the grogs and I just loved it. My daughter in law has the quilt, maybe for a great grandchild someday. I will never forget that fabric.

  21. My favorite quilt was a t-shirt quilt I made for my Godchild from her shirts she had during high school. She took it to collage with her

  22. My favorite quilt I have made is a light blue and white gingham style pattern. I just love the colors of the quilt.

  23. My favourite quilt is one I made for my daughters wedding in 2002 where I took pictures of her and her husband to be from when they were very young to incliude their wedding invitatio invitation. I tried to maych similar activities ie if he was fishing I found one of her fishing it was fun to do. I didn’t finish until after the wedding. My daughter has since past so it is a good memory for her daughter

  24. I started a Georgia Bonesteel fan pattern about 30 years ago and was trying to clean up my sewing room when I discovered the tote bag that held this project. I finished it and had it on my bed for about 3 years. I am now trying to learn the “new” and better way to quilt. Making progress but its slow. I am having lots of fun with a headful of ideas.

  25. My favorite quilt that I made was one for my brother and sister-in-law when they got married. It was made with drunkards path rulers, and it had appliquéd flowers and leaves in the borders. I loved the gem colored fabrics that I used in it!

  26. My favorite quilt is the first one I made. It was a sampler quilt . My sister Lauren and I went to quilting classes for the first time and learned to make the blocks. That started our love of quilting and it is something we still share. ( That was in the 80’s) I hand pieced the blocks because I could not master the quarter inch on the sewing machine and gave that up. Then I decided to hand stitch and quilt the whole thing. It took me about 15 years to finish that quilt but it has been on my bed ever since and my husband and I still enjoy it.

  27. Oh goodness, naming my favorite quilt I’ve made is hard!! I guess it would be one I made for my granddaughter. I chose it because when she opened the box and saw it her eyes just lit up!! It’s an Orange Peel Applique quilt I made with Lori Holt fabrics. She was 16 years old when I made it for her and she loves anything vintage. She now takes it along with her and her boyfriend on picnics!
    Congratulations on 100K subscribers Pat!!

  28. My favorite quilt is a queen sized tumbler quilt that I made using fabrics from all stages of our fifty-one years of marriage. It is quite nostalgic for me to look at. I love log cabin quilts also and yours is really beautiful.

  29. My favorite quilt was made as a guild challenge using charm squares. I cut the charm squares info 1 inch strips and made court house step blocks for the center. The border was appliquéd vines, leaves and flowers, all from charm squares.

  30. My favorite quilt is the one I made for my sister. She loved blue, so I made a jelly roll quilt using the Spa fabric collection by Deb Strain. All different shades of blue and a blue Minky backing. She loved it!
Thank you, Pat, for a chance to win one of your beautiful quilts. Although I don’t get to watch all your videos, when I do, I’m always encouraged, inspired, and motivated to get going on my quilting projects.

  31. Congratulations!!!
My favorite finshed quilt is made of 6 inch red and green homespun fabric squares and a soft snuggling backing! I love it, love it, love it. I made it in 2006 or 2007, one of my very first quilts. I had no pattern, I got the fabric off eBay, a box of leftovers with a bunch of squares that were already cut out and some sewing supplies!

  32. My favorite is the quilt I kade for our first grandson. It was completely Hand appliqué with all farm machinery. A nod to his dad and our small farm. He is 5 now and it still hangs on his wall. That started the tradition of each grandchild getting a hand made quilt for their wall. I have four now.

  33. In 1989 I designed a basket quilt block to enter in a quilt magazine contest. Never did send my entry to the magazine. I made 3 quilts then stopped quilting. Life happens. 2001 rolls around and I started quilting again. Made a quilt and took it to the longarm quilter. Mentioned to her about the basket design. She graciously designed a quilt pattern using the block. This quilt, that I named “Basket Nebula”, is my favorite quilt.

  34. Thank you Pat, I love checking on all of the new ideas you post…I follow and get some finished, but some of mine are not finished.
My favorite quilt at this time is a “Wizard of OZ” quilt starting from a panel. My design turned out great, but my personal quilting was very sad…I received a white ribbon at the local County Fair. Hurray Dorothy and her men…

  35. Hi Pat 👋
My favorite quilt so far is:
Cleopatra quilt using a accuquilt go. It was so satisfying. Then covid hit right before it was to be entered in a quilt show. I love it 😀.

  36. My favorite quilt that I’ve made was a scrappy flannel star quilt that I made for my Mom when she was going through chemo and was always cold. She loved snuggling under it 💗

  37. My favorite quilt was an embroidered baby quilt that I made for my son before he was born. It was my first quilt and it is so cute. The embroidered baby motif blocks were set with blue gingham. My son is 44 years old now!

  38. My favourite quilt was my bucket list quilt. A log cabin in purples and greens and creams.
It’s on my bed forever now.

  39. My favorite quilt was made for my first great-granddaughter! It was Sea Sampler by Stacy Iest Hsu. It was a work of love.

  40. If I have to pick a favorite, it’s my Log Cabin! We were living in Macon, GA in 1985 when a friend taught a group of us to quilt. We “learned” by making a single Churn Dash block. Next step for me was a full sized quilt. Selecting the fabric took forever! I just had a hard time deciding! Ha! Not much has changed there! I machine pieced it on the machine I bought from the same friend. I did hand quilt it though! We moved to Natchitoches, LA in 1987 and it was not finished. A new friend here is a gifted quilter and encouraged and helped me finish it. It’s very special because of the friends who started and walk with me on this quilt journey! (Still sewing on same machine!)

  41. Hi, my favorite finished quilt was a memory quilt I made post 9/11. The Red Cross paired interested quilters with a family member of a victim. Mine was a young lady who lost her husband (a firefighter) she wanted a quilt to gift to their young daughter, who was under 2. She sent me a box of clothing, and photos, and I cried for about a week. The quilt turned out as fabulous as it could be, it was a very emotional project. I made it twin sized so the little could snuggle with it.

  42. My favorite quilt I have made was a challenge quilt I made that was Theme all about me. I made a self portrait with yarn as hair and buttons for earrings.

  43. My favorite quilt to date is a row-by-row quilt in rainbow colors I completed a few years ago. It just turned out to be so much fun to explore some different blocks without having to use them in a full-size quilt and to move through the rainbow colors on each row. It is a bright and happy bed size quilt. I love bringing it out for a bit each year and just thinking about it makes me smile.

  44. My favorite to date would be the first quilt I tried. It is a rainbow bargello. It definitely appealed to my crazy color aesthetic, and was very forgiving. (Note to self, always use a shorter stitch length and for goodness sakes, don’t use white thread on a black background!) 🙂

  45. Hi Pat! Love your videos each day! Congratulations on reaching 100K on you YouTube channel! My favorite quilt I’ve made is my first sew along block Wednesday with you called “A Flower Bouquet” This was the first time I did half square triangles and I really challenged myself with a bright color pallet. It was so fun! I also really enjoyed the asymmetrical layout as that was something new to me as well! I would love to win your beautiful Log Cabin quilt. I have not made a Log Cabin quilt as of yet.
