I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I make a combination of lap quilts and small bed quilt then throw in an ocassional large bed quilt.

  2. i make mostly throw sized quilts. Just did the first of 33 throws for our “next” generation. Mom (Grandma and Great Grandma to some)started gifting her quilts to each of us on our wedding dates. We want to carry on her tradition for the 3rd generation.

  5. I mostly make throws or larger bed quilts. I recently have made a few baby quilts. I just got a long arm with a small frame. Up until then I was hand quilting. Although I have made many in the 30 years of quilting. I hope to have fun making more now that I can quilt faster. Still practicing on the long arm but I am having fun learning. Currently I am enjoying the Grandmas Kitchen patterns.

  6. lately i’ve been more quilts for family but do some small projects in between. so many projects & not enough time!!!

  7. I still want to make them all! Start new projects too often…..don’t we all. Still I’d love anew project. Twin and full size are my favorites.

  8. I am working on a king size now and a ton of bags. I would say it’s fairly even between Lap, bed and other sizes.

  9. Love the little neighborhood! This would be a wonderful for a widowed parent in an extended living facility, my Mom would love it, and I love the colors.

  13. I often make lap quilts because they are so cozy when you’re watching TV. I’m crazy about blue and would be in heaven if I won.

  16. I tend to stick with tablerunners and small quilt as you go projects. I am trying to learn FMQ; however my swirls, curves and squiggles do not flow pretty. I will keep practice and maybe one day conquer that art. I am making Pat Sloan’s Grandma’s Kitchen blocks and have really learned so much from following her. Thanks Pat.

  17. I’m just a beginner so have only made lap quilts so far. I am doing the solstice quilt now, so we will see! I absolutely love the houses though!!!!!

  18. I make more lap quilts than anything. I do make full size bed quilts. Lap quilts go together faster as I usually making them for donations.
    I love blue!

  19. I enjoy the sew along and not knowing how it going to turn out … one of these times I am just going to wing it and use nothing but scraps and see how it comes out! Now I am very coordinated, Ha

  20. I have made more bed size quilts of recent months yet in prior years my focus was making hand embroider baby quilts for my grandchildren.

  24. I have made more crib Quilts, but I did make a larger quilt for my grandson. The smaller Quilts get done faster! 😉

  25. i tend to make bed quilts. the few laps quilts that i have made are because i underestimated yardage & ran out of fabric.

  26. I prefer lap quilts or baby quilts. And I have never used a Jelly Roll before so I think this would be a great one to start with.
