I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

We are on Block #4.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

TRUE CONFESSION.. this is 'Try #2' as 'Try #1'  didn't quite make it.. want to see?

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I have made several items of various sizes. Its fun to make something easy and fast. I enjoy a throw size mostly 60 x 70. I usually travel with one of these quilts as an alternative to the heavy comforters in beds. And I enjoy how my quilt perks up the room and I have a piece from home.

  2. I love give aways too Ms. Pat! More than loving give aways I love everything u have taught me and everyone around the world! How lucky are we To learn correct quilting techniques in the sew alongs and books u have written! Pat Sloan the quilting Rock Star!

  6. I have made several items of all sizes but I do prefer a throw size, say 60 by 70. I take this size with me when I travel and use it as alternate to a heavy weight comforter. I enjoy looking at the work I’ve put into the cover. Very satisfying.

  7. Lately I’ve been making small quilts crib and lap size with a couple bed size quilts thrown in each year.

  8. I mainly do baby or lap size quilts but do up to queen size. If I do anything larger than I don’t feel comfortable finishing it. I’ve not had the pleasure of using the Aurifil thread yet.

  9. Love the blue fabric, my favorite color!! I do mostly smaller projects. But I do have some larger projects put aside… Hopefully I can get all my projects done when we seni-retire? Love your blocks & your newsletters Pat!!! Good luck everyone!!! ❤️

  10. One of my Quilting Sisters is hooked on the weekly Sew Along. She is tickled pink with polka dots with Grandma’s Kitchen. Now I want a piece of the excitement.

  11. I would love to win. I really like the blue fabrics. I usually make laps sized quilts, but I love all. I am currently working on a baby quilt for a friend.

  12. Love the blue fabric!!! I do mostly smaller projects… But I do have some bigger projects put to the side. Hopefully I can get them all done when we semi-retire?? Love your blocks & newsletter!! Good luck everyone!! ❤️

  13. Love looking at blocks gives me so many ideas to fit into my décor, doing new blocks is such a treat when done to know I finished it and enjoyed doing it.

  14. I make all sizes, with the small ones it insures that way something gets finished and inspires me to keep working on the bigger ones!!

  15. Hi Pat, thanks for the chance to win. I make big quilts, little quilts, purses, tote bags, overnight carry on bags, potholders and almost anything else to do with fabric except making clothes (too hard to fit).

  16. Queen sized quilts seem to be my ‘specialty’ (but not necessarily what I enjoy most.) I really enjoy every single phase of the quilting process, except choosing fabric! I see so many beautiful fabrics, but when I get a pattern in mind for a person, sometimes the fabrics don’t speak to me easily. Invariably, however, whatever I choose ends up looking fine. I must just stress over the selection process too much.
Thanks for all the great blocks of the week, motivating me along. That’s been a true stretch of my abilities and I love what I am learning. The give-away is an added bonus, and I can’t wait to see who wins and what they do with it!

  17. I make mostly bed size quilts, but also table runners, holiday items and lap size for charity. Love your blue give away

  18. I’ve always made baby quilts…’cheater quilts’ as I call them. The pre-printed panels where I sandwich them and hand quilt. Just finished my 1st real quilt…peiced on machine, quilted and binded by hand. 🙂

  19. I usually make large lap and bed quilts, but now that I have my first grandbaby, I’m doing several baby quilts in different sizes!

  20. I’m new to quilting – making the Grandma’s Kitchen blocks. Your directions have been great. Looking forward to Block #10 and then putting it all together.
The give-a-way if definitely a bonus. Thank you for designing the blocks for all.

  21. I made a variety of quilt sizes. Recently I made 2 twin size, 2 wall and 1 king size bed quilt. Love the colors in this project. I hope I am the lucky winner.

  22. I enjoy throws and small things (table runners, bags, table toppers and other smalls) for gifts for teachers, neighbors, family and friends. Thanks for the give away!!

  23. I make mostly small projects but do it all! I’m always drawn to the larger projects but time gets in the way.
Love the colors in this giveaway.

  24. I love to make wall hangings and lap quilts for gifts. I don’t have the space to lay out huge quilts, and I like projects that are completed in a short amount of time.

  25. I have been in a rut these last couple months but mostly smaller quilts/projects.
I love the Coney Island house block. Thanks for the giveaway:)

  26. I love the house quilt. Actually, I love all the blocks for this quilt. I enjoy learning to make new blocks, especially fairly easy ones. Thank you for sharing.

  27. Hey Pat, I love your tutorials they are so easy to follow. I usually make lap size or smaller quilts for our charity “Just for You” which is for our local children’s hospital. I also enjoy making wall hangings as they are quick and I can quilt them myself. I love giveaways although I never win, I’ve been playing the lottery for years and im lucky if I get 2 numbers right but it’s still fun to play. You never know when it will be your turn, right. 🙃😁
