I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

We are on Block #4.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

TRUE CONFESSION.. this is 'Try #2' as 'Try #1'  didn't quite make it.. want to see?

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I started making large lap quilts (almost twin size) about 4 years ago. I’ve gotten distracted lately making pouches, aprons, place mats and even chair cushions! I need to finish up 3 UFO quilts very soon though… I love your prize package and thank you for the giveaway opportunity and your Be My Neighbor Blocks!

  2. I love all of your quilt patterns. I am now finding out that I cannot keep up with all the quilting you do and still work at my job. I have now started working on just 2 of your quilts at a time. Thank you for sharing so much of your quilting talents.

  3. Mostly I make lap quilts for Hospice.
I prefer the block above in the blues – the second (or third?) colorway.
Thanks for doing the sew-a-longs! You do a great job.

  4. I seem to do more toddler/lap sizes than anything else–my favorite is 44×60″. It’s big enough for a baby into toddler stages, and a pretty good lap size for most people. It also fits better in my domestic sewing machine for machine quilting than anything bigger. I recently finished my first Queen-sized quilt, and it took 4 years from start to finish, with most of it being machine quilting–that was hard and slow with a small space!
