I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

We are on Block #4.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

TRUE CONFESSION.. this is 'Try #2' as 'Try #1'  didn't quite make it.. want to see?

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I make mostly lap size, but my heart and soul is scrappy miniatures. My background fabric just arrived (think it toured the entire US), once my guild charity project is finished I plan to catch up on the Neighbor blocks.

  2. I make mostly bed quilts, but I also love to make wall hangings for gifts or to decorate my home for the seasons and holidays. I even made one that says: “Happy 29th Birthday to ME!” (I’m actually 63. Shhhh!)
Right now, in addition to the bed quilt that I’m making for a granddaughter’s college dorm room, I’ve been learning how to do free-motion quilting and practicing that a lot. A LOT!!! I’m lovin’ it.

  3. I love smalls ! More to give away! But I’m working on Grandmas Kitchen for a larger project. Thanks for the opportunity!mummum817@gmail.com

  4. I do more bed size quilts for myself. Customer quilts are usually lap size. Thanks for doing all the mysterys….I love them!!!!

  5. I make lots of bed and lap quilts for my loved ones, which makes for a long line of unfinished projects. It’s seems I can never get to my BOM’s or Sew Sampler fun!

  6. I have been making mostly baby quilts, but currently working on a bigger quilt for muy oldest daughter

  7. I do mainly large king size and queen but did smaller ones for grands and great grands love them as they take less time and I usually am on a dead line to finish them

  8. I do mostly bed quilts. I love optical illusion type and anything unusual. I would love to win this 🙂

  9. Most,y bed quilts, but am starting to make smaller projects, thanks for the opportunity to win the giveaway 😍

  10. I make mostly Queen and King size quilts. I also make potato steamers/tortilla warmers, coasters, pot holders/oven mitts, mug rugs, and wine coaster to sell where I work. I wish I had more time to quilt! I hand-quilt all my quilts.

  11. I make mostly full size quilts but I have made queen . Thank you for the give away. Love your site.

  12. I love giveaways. I’m a new quilter, and love trying something new each time. I loved the Solstice Challenge, as every block was different. This pattern would be a new one, too. 🙂

  13. I make a combination of all sizes. Right now I am working on a bed quilt. I have difficulty with quilting a large quilt though. I have two quilt tops made for bed size quilts that have not been quilted. I am able to quilt the small ones so I prefer them.

  14. I always mean to make small quilts – lap or wall hanging sized – but for some reason I always end up making big ones instead! I have a stack of bed quilts, including several king sized, that I need to hand-quilt.

  15. I usually make throw or smaller sized quilts. I am afraid to get too big that I can’t quilt it myself.

  16. I make mostly small to lap quilts. In our church we have 7 members in the nurning home… I made each of them all deffient lap quilts.. I want to make more… but I just found your wesite and I want to make them all!!! Sat down today and cut our the window on ( my first block) and I’m ready to sew it together. I have LOTS of scraps to use.
I have only won 1 thing in my life… (69) and would love your box of goodies…
    Happy making bloxks.

  17. Love your blocks. Saw some quilts finished from your classes in Mississippi at the Old Man River Quiltfest in Vicksburg MS this weekend.

  18. I am doing all your projects but do smaller quilts in between, like gifts for new babies, pouches and small bags for friends. Also helping a friend with bags for wheelchairs and walkers. All such fun and so inspiring. Thank you Pat for getting me started on this quilting journey after meeting you in South Africa. I also teach a small group of ladies, and they too are enjoying all your challenges. They all made the Be my neighbor. Love it. Be well and safe. ✂️❤️🌷🌺💞Jenny Wethmar

  19. I love working on all size projects. It adds variety. It also depends on who a project is for, as to what size a project is.

  20. I am more practical about my quilts at this early stage in my quilting adventure and so I make quilts to use therefore they are either lap quilts or bed quilts. I want to venture into bags such as laptop bags and travel bags, but it is hard to find some of the accessories here in New Zealand

  21. I’m just a beginner and I’ve made mostly small projects – table runners. I’ve made 2 quilts that I am very proud of accomplishing. The first one was a carpenter star quilt for my daughter’s bridal shower gift. The other was Pat’s Solstice Quilt!!

  22. everybody I know wants a quilt made for them for free. They don’t even want to help with purchasing the fabric.

  23. We, my mom sister and I have been making willows for all of our relatives…34 to be exact. We do this to keep mom active as she has dementia and heart failure. I personally am branching out to smaller projects.

  24. I make some of each, mostly bed quilts in the past. I have been working on wall hangings lately and other small projects.

  25. I make mostly lap-size quilts for snuggling on the couch, but baby quilts are my favorite. I have three I’m finishing up for three brothers. I don’t usually make sibling quilts but this is a particularly sad story so they are getting quilts when the baby comes any day! Thanks for your blog and the giveaway!

  26. Small quilts. Just getting started as four of the oldest are grown and flown:) Colors – Teals bright batiks:) Thank you

  27. Mostly bed quilts but I’m doing Grandma’s Kitchen and I’m printing be my neighbor to start soon. Love giveaways. Thanks. 💕
