I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I make lap quilts for a cancer hospice, placemats for meals on wheels, breast pillows for cancer, walker handle covers, and full size quilts. I am presently working on Grandma’s Kitchen blocks, as well as have many many UFO’s. Thank you for all you do Pat!!

  2. I usually make bed Quilts. Why? I don’t know…it doesn’t cross my mind when I’m picking out a project to make the smaller version… Glutton for punishment, I guess. LOL!

  3. Right now making blocks. Your grandmothers kitchen and one from the fat quarter shop. I want to make small wall quilts and table runners. My arms and hands do not work so well and anything large I can not quilt.

  12. I’ve sewn mainly medium quilts, as they work great for snuggle quilts for two, plus will fit on a bed top. Right now I’m doing a queen and a baby. Just depends who needs it!

  16. I love giveaways and also love blue. I work mostly work on bed quilts. I am a fairly new quilter. I started a few years ago after I became disabled and couldn’t work anymore. I was not use to nor did I want to stay home. So my friends introduced me to quilting. I started out finishing Quilts of Valor quilts. I also made quite a few of quilts for charity. I could not afford fabric so my friends gave me quilts to finish and scraps. A few months ago a had a big surgery on my shoulder quilting is part of my rehab.   21. Love everything you throw out! So glad I stumbled onto your Facebook page! I mostly make baby quilts with a few large quilts thrown in. I want to make table runners and place mats but some how my life doesn’t make time for such things. I’m usually on a time crunch for the things I do make.

  24. I made big bedsize quilts for all my grandchildren,but now I am making lap size quilts for friends and relatives. I am going to redo my own bedroom this fall and just can’t find a pattern that I am sure I want.

  25. I have made seven quilts since I started quilting two years ago. The first I jumped in with both feet and made a king size quilt. Then I made a queen size, three twin sizes, and two laps quilts. So I guess I have made more bed size quilts. I do have a couple kits to make wall hangings and am looking forward to getting them started.

  26. Love the blue!! I do not make anything as big as twin size. Working on quilts for my friends’ grandkids (10yoa/younger), table runners and (in my head) nieces and nephews quilts. I did make an almost twin size for my brother!
    Smaller sizes easier for me to handle.

  29. I’ve done two king size bed quilts, but had to send them out to be quilted. I am making mostly throw sized quilts now so I can quilt at home and have more money to buy more fabrics! 😉 Did the Be My Neighbor at size given, but am in the process of making smaller projects with the Solstice blocks. Working on a throw size now with the blocks. Love your generosity in sharing your knowledge and blocks with us!

  30. I mostly make Christening quilts, I never get them finished in time for the birth!! I make them in a Throw size so big enough for a play mat or their Big Bed a few years later.
