My favorite summer activity is gardening! I love to grow veggies. herbs and flowers, especially perennials. I do a lot of canning, too, with all the produce I grow. I love to dig in the dirt and soak up some fresh air and sun. I love your quilt!
Some of my favorite summer activities are a day at the beach with a good book and a family cookout with all the fixings. Thank you Pat for your inspiration.
My gift this year was getting to go to the beach for a few days. From June 28th through October 15th of 2023 I was in a neck brace which robbed me of quilting time and my voice for months. This is a quilt that I love to do. I love applique quilts as you take time to think out each block individually and cohesiveness to your
whole quilt. This would be a constant reminder I have persevered through hard times to cherish the small moments.
Spending time in the summer with my great grandkids is the highlight of summer for me. We make it special and go on trips during the month they are with me.
When my 36 year old daughter was little, we met family at Sunset Beach in NC the same week every year. 3 four bedroom houses full of family. The last time was decades ago, but she still talks about the beach. She and her family live in Colorado and sheâs looking forward to starting the same tradition with her family. For me, your quilt is a wonderful reminder of what was, and what we hope to have again.

“Oh My Stars” what a fabulous quilt! My favorite summer activity is anything on the water. We live in the PNW with water all around us. Boating, swimming, crabbing, fishing and cruising all summer long. This quilt showcases so many summer activities.

My favorite summer activity would be taking a cruise with my husband–but we can do that pretty much year round and not just in the summer when we go. It is a time of togetherness and relaxing while seeing new places.
I love hiking with my husband. We live at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park–so it is always a new experience every time we go–because you see new wildlife or different things are in bloom. If we don’t have time for the GSMNP, we have Seven Island Birding Park to hike. We hike for the time together, the exercise, and the beauty surrounding us. Sometimes we see deer, lots of birds, and even watched skunks.
Congratulation on 10 years on Facebook. You are a true inspiration. The quilt is fabulous and your heart is generous. My very first quilt (1996) has several hand appliqued blocks–so I appreciate the work involved making it. I’m like you–I make more than I keep.

This quilt reminds me so much of Virginia Beach. We used to go there for our summer vacation trip. I miss going to the Ocean, so if I won this quilt it would hang where everyone who comes over, can love the quilt also.

My favorite thing to do in Summer is our annual trip to Door County, WI. My husband, our dog and I go every year and stay for about 4 days. It is very relaxing.
