  1. My fav Christmas decoration is a small 2’ high deep turquoise tree and on it are ornaments that my mom purchased on her travels antiquing all over, at this one shop a lady had handmade ball type ornaments from vintage velvet fabrics, added vintage ribbon, and vintage rhinestone jewelry and pins. Each ball is unique and amazing. Below the tree on the tabletop I have a selection of vintage tinsel ornaments mostly stars and starfish.

  2. My favorite holiday activity is Christmas Eve ..Church, Chinese food and a gathering of the family. We have been doing this since the kids were babies (1983). Now the grandchildren (ages 6 and 4) are here. Even better!!

  3. I would have to say that my favorite Christmas event used to be going to my Grandma Mable’s home on Christmas Eve just to visit. She has passed on and I do miss doing that. Christmas Day I have our gathering at my home and we exchange gifts with family members. I love to spend time with my Granddaughter Madilyn and Great-Granddaughters Samantha and her sister Paris. We did not do this last year but plan to do it this year. So glad you are healing quickly and I wish your family a very Merry Christmas.

  4. My favorite Christmas decoration is my small Christmas tree with my Holy Family Nativity placed on top my quilted Christmas tree skirt. My collection of nut crackers stand guard around the general area of the tree set up.

  5. My favorite holiday tradition is going to Christmas Eve church service then opening up Christmas pjs. I love being together.

  6. My favorite thing about Christmas is the angel on the top of the tree; it was my parents and has been passed to me to enjoy.

  7. My favorite Christmas Decoration is the crochet Angle my mom made for me years ago. She passed in 1999 so my Angle is very old and sits upon my tree every year.

  8. Hi, Pat. Thank you so much for all that you’ve done for the quilting community! I’m so grateful for your YouTube channel, books, patterns and website. You really make my days brighter! I’ve been praying for you with everything that you’ve had going on recently and it’s great to see you doing well. As far as favorite Holiday Event, it’s got to be putting up the tree! Every year, whichever adult kids are home put the tree up and decide on which decorations we use. We have so many of the ones that they made as kids or from years old metal candy ornaments. There are ornaments from our years living overseas and other house decorations. This year our middle daughter and our son put everything together. It’s great to hear them laugh and giggle as things come out of the storage boxes, like they are still youngsters. I even told them to not put up everything and they told me no, everything’s going up! I’m so thrilled to have them still be so happy do do these things. It makes this momma’s heart smile!

  9. We have the tradition of putting up the tree after Thanksgiving Dinner. That is a favorite time for me because the grand daughters and my daughter are involved for some sweet time together while listening to Christmas music.

  10. My favorite holiday event when the kids were younger was to take them to the “drive through nativity” at the local church. Live enactors portraying the birth of Jesus was always a highlight.

  11. My favorite Christmas decoration is the brass angel that revolves from the candles’ heat that we always displayed when I was growing up.

  12. I’ve created a Christmas village on a small table and I keep adding trees and other small objects to it every year. I’ll need a bigger table soon!

  13. My favourite decoration is the angel on the top of the tree. It is a replacement for the one I got for Christmas when I was three. I was told it was the only thing I wanted for Christmas. Unfortunately it did not weather the years as well as I have (not saying much since I am 73) but the new one is beautiful.

  14. I love how the community decorates inside through the windows and outside on the street— any color, any combination, one light or a thousand lights. It gets dark around 4 PM here so even before 4 they twinkle so brightly that it lifts my spirits. The effect is magical and ethereal.

  15. My favorite Christmas tradition is getting together with family for a raucous cookie and candy exchange. There is a white elephant gift exchange and the sharing of many Christmas stories.

  16. My favorite Christmas event for the past couple years is taking my sweet grandson to the walkway of lights. Our town has this every year. It’s a big park where it’s a lit up with Christmas lights. We walk through the whole place and then we get hot chocolate. So fun!

  17. I really get into the spirit of Christmas by attending a concert with Christmas songs, carols, and stories. A past favorite (sadly, no longer running) was “Voices of Christmas” featuring holiday stories of many different cultures.

  18. I have a set of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer figurines that were my Moms. They are not the prettiest after all these years but I love them and put them out every Christmas.

  19. I don’t do a lot of decorating since both my children have moved away but the favorite decoration that needs to be out are the stockings they decorated, just makes it feel like my family is close.

  20. My favorite Christmas event is a drive around at night to look at all the houses decorated in lights. Loved it since I was a kid. Always amazing.

  21. I love everything Christmas – I want to make myself Christmas quilt as I am usually making things for other people.
Happy Christmas – stay safe and stay well.

  22. I love putting out my snowman’s
They are so much fun. I also love family time getting together and just play games reminiscening on memories

  23. Over the past few years my favorite Christmas event has become our annual Cookie Exchange. Women gathering not just to share cookies but conversation, laughter and, of course, wine. Great break from the busyness of the season.

  24. Hi Pat. Thanks for the giveaway. I enjoy your videos so much and your sharing of your quilting life and creative process. My favorite holiday decoration is the Christmas lights. We always put colored lights on our porches and the wooden fence along the front of our place. We always wrap our mailbox with red lights, which you can see from a long way away when coming down our road. It’s special to us. Best wishes for the holidays and in the new year 2022.

  25. My favorite Christmas event is Christmas Eve which we always try and celebrate with our children and grandchildren. Life is short and we cherish this event every year we have the pleasure of being able to put on the event. Last year we were not able to do so due to COVID and our family missed this as well as the opening of the grandchildren’s gifts.

  26. Since it’s just me and my spouse and we don’t have any children I no longer put up a tree but I do put out my mother’s beautiful ruby red candy dish and candlesticks and place them on her crochet doily with red roses keeps me close to her in spirit 🌹

  27. I love looking at lights on Christmas Eve – even more fun now with my granddaughter.
We always stop for snacks and drive all over town looking at light and luminaries.

  28. My favorite event is to visit Frankenmuth, Mi and walk through the town and shops at dark and take in all the Christmas lights.

  29. My Favorite Christmas Decorations are the that I got my dad years ago they are mini nutcracker’s. For years I would get him a nutcracker every year till he said no more nutcrackers. We also make tons of cookies, fudge and candies every year to enjoy as a family.

  30. My favorite Christmas decoration is my Swedish Christmas chime. The heat from lit candles make the chimes go around and make a lovely sound. It is old but treasured. It is so treasured that my oldest granddaughter will receive it when I can no longer use it.

  31. My favorite Christmas decorating event is baking a multitude of cookies like gingerbread, sugar, amaretti, pfeffernusse. etc. to give to family and friends.

  32. My favorite event for holidays would be Christmas Eve. We go to church and sing Christmas Carols. We have one of the family gatherings at Mom and Dad’s home. I really enjoy family time.

  33. My favorite holiday event is decorating cookies. My family all get together and make beautiful, artistic and silly Christmas cookies. We laugh and have a great time.

  34. My favorite Christmas event is going to get our tree. We have tree farms all around the area that I live so we get a live tree each year. We went tree hunting when I was a little girl and it always brings back wonderful memories. Looking for that perfect tree, bringing it home and then decorating it. Just a “wonderful time of the year”.

  35. My favorite Christmas decorations are Angel Ornaments that I have been given by my Children over the past 30 years. My family named our tree, the Angel tree. Brings back many memories.

  36. My favorite Christmas decoration is 5 little stars I made when I was so very young I don’t even remember how old I was. They were made out of paper and some type of wax, they are beautiful. All are different colors and have glitter on them.

  37. My favorite Christmas decoration is an advent tree with cross stitch
ornaments. This was made by me in Germany in the 1980’s. I had a lot of time on my hands and loved to do needle work. The tree is a Charlie brown tree made out of dowls. I painted the tree. The ornaments are little pillows with bow ties I designed myself to hang on the tree. We remove the numbered ornament off of the tree each day till Christmas!

  38. My favorite Christmas event is memories from when I was a child. We always had a real tree and I got to help decorate it. We always opened presents on Christmas Eve and my older siblings with their families would all stop by and visit.

  39. My favorite Holiday is Christmas. I love decorating the house and making cookies with the little ones. And singing Christmas songs around the tree. And the best is watching the presents being opened on Christmas morning.

  40. My favorite holiday decorations are my collection of porcelain Snoopy ornaments that I’ve had since I was a little girl. I collected them in the later 1960’s. Mother took me shopping with her to the big Day After Christmas Sale at Bullock’s department store in Pasadena, a big deal back then. Every year I would buy one with my own money, if I could get one! Does anyone else remember crazy Day after Christmas sales?

  41. Driving around looking at Christmas lights with my family is my most favorite event. The boys would point out their favorites while listening to holiday music.

  42. My favorite holiday decoration would be the advent tins my husband and I created for the grandchildren. They hang on the wall and the tins hold miniature items. Each year, one of the grandchildren come over and get to load the tins with all the fun miniature stuff we have purchased or made. Its so fun watching the children fill these tins as they know that they are the only one with the “Secret”. Merry Christmas to all!

  43. My favorite Christmas decoration is the ceramic tree my father made for me. It always is put up. Next would be putting up the tree while watching Rudolph.

  44. May favorite decoration is theChristmas tree. As the ornaments go on to the tree it is like a trip down memory lane. Many of the ornaments are home made and that brings back memories of when they were made. We also have ornaments from trips we have taken over the years. When looking for souvenirs to remember our travels we always look for ornaments to go on our tree.
