  2. Hi Pat! Congrats on 95k! 101k here we come! I made my first quilt for me! I’m only on #4 and those are all for family. Thank you for your videos. Love ‘em!

  3. I made my first quilt when I was pregnant with my first child. It was a kit from a needlework catalog. She still has the tattered quilt 44 years later.

  4. Congratulations on 95k subscribers, Pat. My first quilt was for my daughter’s first baby, 21years ago. My husband and I were living in Nigeria at the time. I came back to Texas to take a beginner’s quilting class at my local quilt shop. I made a darling sampler baby quilt, in blues, greens and beiges, featuring Huckleberry Finn fabric. The next year, I made another for her second child, with the same fabrics, but different pattern. I love following you on YouTube!

  5. I started my first quilt in 1989 for my oldest daughter. I watched a Quilt in a Day episode with Eleanor Burns thinking it would not take very long to make. I remember her saying “get your rotary cutter and mat” to cut strips. I did not know what she was talking about but I got out my scissors and began cutting. I finished it about 10 years later and my youngest daughter claimed it.

  6. The first quilt I made and finished was for my now 35 year old son. I learned to quilt by hand piecing/hand quilting and only finished that sampler about 5 or so years ago:)

  7. I made my first quilt for my son. Everyone at work started making rag quilts. The second one was for my daughter. They used them all the time and often took them in the car on trips.

  8. I made my first quilt for my daughter 22 years ago. It was bright and colorful and we still use it!

  9. My first quilt was for my older brothers graduation gift. I was in 10th grade. He and his wife used the quilt for 20 years and then asked if I would make them another.

  10. My first quilt was for my granddaughter. I machine embroidered Precious Moments on every other block and did log cabin blocks for the others. She loved it and was very loved. Its been repaired plenty of times since then!

  11. My first quilt was made while we were in Germany and expecting our first child. So many fun memories with that one and still love that Jenny Beyer fabric! I’d love to see a Pat Sloan quilt in-person and would sure enjoy visiting the VA Quilt Museum! So many times, I’ve gotten the courage to try a new idea or block by just watching your daily videos !! Love your thought process on fabric selection too! Thanks for all you do 💕Pat and 💕Ambassadors! xoxo/SallyD

  12. My very first quilt went to my barbie. It was made out of a paper towel. I colored blocks on it.
    Congratulations on hitting 95K

  13. My first quilt was for my granddaughter for her 19th birthday, I used remnants from all the cotton dresses and pj’s I had made for her over the years. It was a joy watching her find squares from her favorites.

  14. The first quilt I finished was a small sampler from a How To class I took at my local quilt shop, completely hand pieced and quilted which I gave to my mother – in – law. You make my mornings Pat. Thanks so much for sticking with the daily for so long.

  15. I made my first quilt for my Mother. I did a cross stitch pattern and them quilted them. I was very proud. Been such a long time ago.

  16. I am so excited to be one of your 95K subscribers, congratulations! My first quilt was made for my niece who is autistic. It gives her so much comfort and confidence that she is deeply loved. It would be wonderful to win your quilt.

  17. My very first quilt that I made was with my grandmother. She taught me how to piece a doll quilt on her treadle sewing machine. I still have it over 65 yrs. later.

  18. Congratulations on growing your channel! I made baby quilts before I learned about a quarter inch seam…yeah they were ok. But! I watched you and some others and learned. My very first quilt was for my husband. I made up a pattern, cobbled together fabrics by thrifting and did not even know how to fmq. I learned a lot of that quilt 4 years ago. I’ve just completed my second king flimsy and it is mine, finally and quilt 21. Thanks for teaching me and everyone that has received one of my quilts, thanks you too!

  19. I made my first quilt for my grandmother🙂we drew names at Christmas time and I got hers. She made quilts for all of us so I thought she needed one made for her . It wasn’t perfect but she loved it❤️when she passed away it was given back to me

  20. I made my first quilt for my daughter’s doll. I never stopped. Quilting is my bid for immortality. My family will remember how much I love them.

  21. In 1985 I fell in love with an appliquéd heart wallhanging in a boutique window. It was $210 and I didn’t have $210 so I decided to make it myself. Went to JoAnns and purchased the fabric and got it together and hand quilted it. That was the first of many hand appliquéd quilts that I have made since.
