** FAQ **

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure!
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced.
  • NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Goodies for Someone!***

Leave me a comment by Jan 11 2022 – 6pm est telling me
"Something you love about Brownies!" (I sure hope you love them but if not… oh well!)

Goodies go to Suzanne Y  who said " I love brownies! I do make both box and from scratch. On special occasions I make Cinnamon Brownies with walnuts and topped with chocolate ganache. I have to run now. Going up to the grand babies but will share the recipe on the cooking group later. Have a great day"

  1. We love all kinds of brownies! Sometimes I put the mini peanutbutter cups in them. I think it sounds like I need to make some. Now to decide what kind.

  2. I love brownies and they must contain nuts. I prefer the chewy brownies over the cake ones. Boxed or homemade are both good.

  3. Brownies are my favorite and I always go for the edges! I like to experiment with ingredients, flavors and add-ins. I love chewy add-ins like carmels and marshmallows! I am always trying different mixes! I need your brownie pan! Incredible!

  4. Brownies Yum but in our family we don’t like that Christie corners we like the whole brownie soft and chewy I also put pecans in mind a little less of a flavor than walnuts. So excited about the 2022 mystery thank you Pat for being my morning buddy

  5. I love brownies. One modification that I use in brownies, chocolate chip cookies, etc. is to add approximately 1/4 cup of butterscotch chips. This makes for super yummy treats!!!!

  6. We love Brownies, this year my granddaughter used Brownies as the base for Christmas trifle..scrumptious

  7. Brownies are one of my favorites! Pour half the batter in the pan. Place a couple large candy bars on top of the batter. Cover with the remaining batter. Bake as usual. These are a huge hit whenever I make them.

  8. Love gooey brownies topped with Pecan Pralines and Cream ice cream melting on top. Shoot-I will nuke hard brownies that have sat too long and top with milk/ice cream to soften.
    Hey! it’s chocolate

  9. Our family Brownie recipe is for a fudgy one and everyone fights over the gooey fudgy centre so your edge pan would be no good to us! I love seeing the fabric lines you use for your projects. I”ve been a long time fan.

  10. Love brownies but always make them from scratch as mixes always have a certain taste although I have never tried your brand.

  11. I make brownies 2-3 times a month for men who meet with my husband on Thursdays for Bible Study and fellowship. I make them from a box mix (different brands), but usually add a handful of chocolate chips and walnuts. I like them moist and slightly gooey so I under bake them a tad.

  12. Our quilt group in the UK has a cake rota as we all know that it is the necessary fuel to keep us creative. As yet, no one has made brownies so that will be the suggestion for the next meeting. Looking forward to that!

  13. Brownies are a favourite at my house too! My go to recipe also has a frosting for them and I never wait long enough for them to cool before I put it on! Always eat the first one when they are too hot to take out of the pan!

  14. Brownies are my most requested ‘gift’. Ask me to your home and I will bring your
favorite brownies. I love that pan and it’s on my wish list! The edges are the best for sure.
This is my first sew along for 2022. I love this first block and am searching for just the right fabric to fussy cut.

  15. Oh, I love brownies as well. I especially like the cake like ones and of course the edges are the best. I just may buy one of those pans for a gift for myself.

  16. Brownies, chocolate or blondie, they are my favorite dessert, too! The chewy ones are the best, in my opinion. But the main ingredient I need for a brownie to be decadent is caramel; lots of caramel. Any brownie that includes caramel, oh my, well I could eat a whole pan all by myself! Watching your video today, and hearing you talk about brownies, it reminded me of just how long it’s been since I’ve made brownies. It also inspired me to try and follow along with the β€œSweet Dreams” quilt pattern. I love the fabric line you have chosen for Sweet Dreams. I hope it’s still available for purchase. And I’d absolutely love to win the goodie bag with all the cool fabrics, and the fabulous things inside the tote. Thanks Pat for all your inspiration today.

  17. My family love brownies and I just eat the corners, they are the best! We are from Alabama so we use Pecans. I put then in our brownies and chocolate chip cookies too. Nuts always make them better.

  18. Forgot to mention, I like the centers of the brownies. Would not turn down brownies with chocolate chips in them.

  19. I was raised in a brownie loving family. My mom preferred to bake them from a box without nuts, I love to make all kinds of recipes. I was only allowed to bake them if I left the edges for my mom. That is why I think I prefer the middle instead of the edges to this day.

  20. Oh my goodness the best part about brownies is when they come out of the oven and they’re warm and a little gooey. Let them sit 5 or 10 minutes and now they are still warm and chewy with crunchies from the nuts, I’m in heaven!!!!

  21. I make brownies from
Box too. We like edges too. A long time ago I bought an β€œas seen in Tv” brand brownie pan and that’s what we use. I don’t generally put nuts in my brownies!

  22. My favorite way to fix package brownies is with pecans and some additional chocolate chips but usually I fix them plain because I share with others and not everyone can have pecans. Your baking pan sounds great, but it doesn’t matter whether my brownies are only edges, plain, sprinkled powder sugar, or iced. Most important is having a moist brownie. Thank you for all that you do.

  23. I love brownies and the edges are my favorite also. I like them with pecans vs walnuts, with chewy centers and the crunchy edges. I rarely make them because my family are all health nuts and usually only eat a tiny bit if at all. So that means I will eat them all and I really don’t need to be doing that.

  24. I enjoy brownies, especially when I’m in the mood for something very chocolate and fudge. When my daughter was dating her husband they used to have contests over who could make the best batch of brownies. I think one of my daughters recipes finally won. Now that they are raising a family I find they mostly make the triple chocolate Ghirardelli boxed brownies. Which are delicious.

  25. I make brownies from a recipe that I’ve had for a long time. I use the Pampered Chef brownie pan and it cleans up so easy with no fuss. Love how the block turned out!

  26. I think the word “brownie” is used to describe different things here in Australia to US but as long as it says CHOCOLATE in the title I love them.

  27. I love brownies but I diabetic and in need of a good diabetic recipe. Also I use pecans instead of walnuts.

  28. I like brownies, I don’t like the cake brownies but the fudgy ones. I would rather have pecans in my brownies then walnuts. Your brownie block is super cute!

  29. Due to my health conditions I cannot eat any foods with gluten, dairy or high sugar amounts. My favorite sweets are blueberries and cherries

  30. I love brownie, my husband makes the best brownie. I come home from work and to come in the door and you can smell them! There is a saying “Eat dessert first”.

  31. I love brownies, with or without nuts, sometimes with caramels added but never with frosting, I don’t like frostings-too sweet, so brownies are usually what I ask for on my birthday

  32. I love sweets of all kinds. I make Texas sheet cakes, they are like cake brownies with a fudgy frosting. I think the secret of that recipe is buttermilk.
