My favorite place to stitch is in a campground, I always take a bit of hand stitching along. When my mom & dad came camping with us, mom and I would sit and sew small blocks together by hand, after hiking. Pieces were all cut ahead of time, we made like little kits for ourselves. I miss that time together. It was always a treat when other campers would come visit our site to see what we were doing. It surprises me how many quilters go camping and hiking!

  1. I like to stitch on my patio in the morning when it’s more shady and then on my front porch in the afternoon. It’s a great way to relax, stitching and listening to the birds chirp away. πŸ™‚

  2. Sometimes I cross stitch in bed because by then I haven taken my contact lenses out and can see close up better. Not sure if you would call that out of the ordinary but I don’t think I have heard others say they do that.

  3. My favorite place to stitch is on my deck at our cottage enjoying the view of Lake Huron. Often see sailboats and freighters in my view.

  4. Back in the day I did a lot of cross stitch. Still have the floss but old patterns(like bears and ducks). All the new patterns look so fun. Thinking about starting up again what a awesome way to start is with this give away! Keep sharing all of these projects I’ll get inspired enough to jump back in it along with my quilting! Thanks for all you do Pat. ❀️

  5. I stitch in the car when my husband and i are going someplace. He gets mad because i β€œmiss” all the scenery!!!

  6. I have little sitting area under a tree in my garden. I like to sit out there in the shade and stitch while listening to the birds sing.

  7. I have to stitch with more light, so I stitch in my sewing room under the LED shop light. I would love to stitch outside on the porch.

  8. Duting the evenings I like to have some handwork while being in the same room with my husband. Television seems to be a timewaster, so I can at least get something done while I am keeping my husband company.

  9. I love to stitch outside my fifth wheel camper during the summer. I can enjoy watching nature like the rabbits and squirrels. If I need a break I can get up and take a lap around the camp ground. It helps to clear the mind and I have some walking time also.

  10. In the morning I love to stitch on the back balcony overlooking the pool, in the afternoon I move to the front balcony overlooking the beach…it is all about finding shade and breeze here in Florida!

  11. I like to stitch in the living room where I have an Ott-lite to my left and space on my right for supplies. My husband calls it my β€˜cockpit’!

  12. I like to stitch in my office at work on my lunch break. Gives me a nice break from working and soothes my mind and soul… since I can’t bring my sewing machine to work I figure this is the next best thing – haha!

  13. My favorite place to stitch is out on the deck while listening to the birds. So ‘piece’ful.

  14. I love to stitch when I go on vacation. I have stitched in the ski mountains of New Hampshire, on the coast in Arcadia National Park in Maine.Sometimes just on my deck.

  15. We have a fishing camp that you get to by boat…I sit on the swing, under the camp in the breeze to stitch, sometimes I bring along my sewing machine and sew there also…it’s a nice quite peaceful place to relax and work on projects..

  16. I love to cross stitch pretty much anywhere but especially on my covered front porch with a nice summer breeze to keep me coolπŸ€—πŸ§΅πŸͺ‘🏑

  17. Love to stitch on the back patio and hear the sounds of nature. Very calming! I also keep a “kit” of the materials so I can stitch on the go!

  18. When we lived on the farm, my favorites place to stitch was out in the horse pasture where I sat on a huge rock. It was so peaceful watching my horses graze and all of Mother Nature. Now that we are in town, I love to stitch on my 3 season porch.

  19. When I sit on the beach (Cape Cod) with my friends I like to stitch and chat . Gotta be making something!

  20. My favorite place to stitch is outside on my breezeway which is enclosed. I can hear the birds and get great light.

  21. I love stitching on my back deck early in the morning while the birds are chirping and everything is still waking up.

  22. I’m new to cross stitch so stitching in the car on trips is great for “focus” time. I’m thinking that now that summer is here I might try to plan some stitch days out on our terrace!

  23. Hi Pat, My favorite place to stitch other than on my porch is at campgrounds. Usually we are camped in the woods or near a lake, stream, creek, or ocean. So, I guess I could say I love to stitch anywhere outdoors. lol.

  24. I love to stitch on my porch in the evening. I love my porch and I enjoy stitching…perfect combo.

  25. I’ll stitch on my back deck when the weather is nice… I’ve tried when on a long drive .. buts it’s like reading in a car… it affects my stomach.

  26. I haven’t cross stitched in eons, but my back in the dark ages when we had hour lunches I would do it in the “break room”. Kept me from snacking and didn’t take me away from family time.

  27. I like to hike with my hubby in the hills behind our home. In late March we like to hike and hunt for morel mushrooms. He loves to eat them, but I don’t. It’s absolutely fun to hunt them, but even more fun to find them.

  28. I enjoy stitching on the patio during good weather months. Definitely close to the pellet stove in winter! Stitching ANYWHERE is relaxing.

  29. I love to set up outside on the covered patio/outdoor kitchen. I have a great view and a tv out there. I have invited friends over to sew too.

  30. My favorite place to stitch is on the beach sitting in my chair and under my umbrella and feeling the wonderful ocean breeze and hearing the waves crash…take me to the BEACH today!

  31. I have not stitched a cross stitch in a long while and would love to get back into it. Looking for a project when we do our next getaway to the mountains. So I see myself on a rocking chair, listening to the birds in the morning with my hubby doing the cross stitch!

  32. I love to work at our cabin in the mountains. There’s always a gentle breeze and you never know what kind of wild life you will see. The Christmas cross stitch looks so fun.

  33. I stitch in the car while waiting for my kids to get done with practice or school. I actually get a lot done and the time passes quickly (is it bad that I sometimes get into line early so I have more stitch time? LOL)

  34. I don’t know that it’s out of the ordinary, but mostly I stitch in the car either while my husband is driving or while I’m waiting for a child to finish some activity.

  35. Usually, I stitch in my favourite chair in the living room. I have all of my floss, etc. readily accessible beside me and go to town.

  36. I have stitched while serving as a volunteer docent at a local museum. Sometimes you just have to do something in between visitors!!

  37. My favorite place to stitch besides my easy chair in the den is outdoors on the front porch. Not too much out of the ordinary maybe!
