*** Taking our Pulse ***

How are you friend?

I thought it was worth repeating today my 'Let It Go!' Daily challenge. Because it's good to take a pause and be sure we are on the right track with things. Not getting to crazy.  It's good to hit the reset button too and just breath a bit.

Life is upside down for so many right now…. actually for most of us. Even if your area has few virus cases, you are still needing to change most of how you operate in order to not transmit and to be safe.

*** My word of the Year ***

I feel like after all these years I'm really living my Word of the Year. One goal of 'Being Intentional' was to recap my thoughts on it each month.

  • Being home for so many weeks now I find that i am more focused on being sure I get in exercise.  So I've done either Yoga or Walked almost every day since the middle of January. Missing just a few days
  • I'm working hard to do my normal projects and wrap up my book that had to be delayed last year.  It will be all done soon except mailing the quilts. The offices are not open so I have to wait to ship.
  • Looking around at my projects I know the next thing I want to do is create some space for myself to do some hand work. I have about 4 projects I can do. So will I alternate them? or just do one for awhile then switch?  I'm leaning towards alternating until I get a feel if some make me happier to work on than others
  • I have not been writing my my daily project journal.  Do I reboot that?
  • I love my Kitchen Adventures Community! It's awesome to talk about yummy foods. Join me at https://www.facebook.com/groups/KitchenAdventuresWithPat/
  • My Daily videos have been very intentional. Since I have a calendar that we can all use has been great for me as I know a topic.
  • Tossing in a Block a Day for our 'Stay at Home' quilt along gives us a memory of April 2020… it's not all bad, it's just what it is.

One of my biggest take aways right now is that 'Quilting makes the this isolation/Quarantine Doable' . We may not always have bandwidth do something big or important. But we do have Quilting to keep us sane in even small ways.

Let me know in the comments how you are doing

  1. Love the cute little houses. I really don’t make banners, but this one is so cute I am guna have to make it! Thanks for the free pattern. I love your word of the year “being intentional”. I have put that to use with my quilting thanks to you! Since joining you in March, I have made time daily for my quilting and I have accomplished so much in addition to joining your sew-a-longs. I think it has helped immensely with my stress level and keeping sane during this quarantine time.

  2. Hey Pat! I’m trying to keep busy doing SOMETHING! We’re expecting high winds today, so I can’t be on my longarm in case the power goes out. I’ve been working on a baby quilt for our asst pastor’s new baby girl.

  3. Happy Easter, Pat! Thank you for sharing this cute pattern. I’ve admired it for quite sometime as I see it in a lot of your videos. I thought about trying to replicate it myself, but now I have it thanks to your generosity. Again, thanks for sharing! You’re the best!!

  4. Thank you for the pattern. I have been admiring it every time I see it in your studio.
It is amazing how much you get done and now I am amazed how much I get done in such a tidier space.
Thank you for all the many things you share with us, not only patterns, but knowledge to make sewing a breeze, tips to get that perfect hst. Sewing tips to keep things organized. But most of all your laughter, it is contagious. I hear you and it makes me happy. Thanks for being here everyday to cheer us on. I even watch the challenges over again just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
God Bless you and your shipping dept. this Easter.

  5. Being shut in doesn’t bother me one bit. It’s a great excuse to stay in my ‘studio’. I do my cleaning, laundry, chores first thing then retreat to my sewing. I have cleaned out and rearranged, cut 3 quilts from stash, and am now beginning to quilt the 12 tops waiting their turn. I look forward to your video each day. Thank you for doing this!

  6. Happy Easter. Thanks for sharing. I watch you each day; I am usually on the treadmill. Makes the time go faster. I have all the blocks made for ‘stay at home’ quilt and am doing the stashing. When done I will share on Instagram. Take care of yourselves.

  7. Hi Pat: I made the Cottage Garden banner couple months ago, love the pattern and all your banner projects. I enjoy all your videos and comments. Happy Easter. Be safe.

  8. Happy Easter! Thank you so much for the cute pattern. I have admired it on your wall during our Daily Adventures with you. They have been so encouraging, especially in this season. Staying at home and watching the Spring unfold itself. The pattern is fresh and timely. Thanks again!

  9. You bring such a ray of sunshine. I appreciate your encouragement as it jump starts me every day. I came down with shingles last week and that has messed me up big time. Your daily videos have been a God-send. Keep it coming, you are loved.

  10. Happy Easter! Thank you for the cute, cute pattern. I am doing well, enjoying time to do some extra cleaning and time to sew!

  11. Happy Easter Pat, I had reached out to you in early March with a question about waterproof, breathable fabric for surgical masks. I ended up getting Gor-Tex fabric for the masks my daughter wanted me to make. The will do the trick working with the Covid patient but are warm for the average person to wear. Enjoy all you do for us stitchers!
    Thanks
    Eileen

  12. Hi Pat. You are great with sharing your patterns, thoughts and life! You are an inspiration and very intentional!
My word for the year is “wonder”. I’ve used it every day, in writing, sewing, and life. Mostly, right now, I wonder how we are ever going to be back to normal.
    God Bless. Happy Easter
    Jean

  13. Dear Pat: Thank you so much for the cute pattern! Busy with Easter meal prep for tomorrow. Still have to bake a batch of M&M cookies yet, but I got my 4 blocks done for the Charming Baby Quilt. I have to make the star block yet by Wednesday so I don’t get behind. Also, got 4 blocks sewn for the April Quilt Along. Happy Easter!

  14. Pat, when I have you on the computer my husband says:”oh, it’s the quilting lady. Say hello.” Seriously
I do enjoy all your advice, ideas, know how ,patterns and whatever else makes “you” you.
While this Easter is certainly different than any other let’s remember the message
    is the same
    Stay safe and healthy
    Antje

  15. Happy Easter to you and Gregg.
Thank you for sharing your quilting tips and tricks daily and bringing just that little extra joy into my day. Like your smile!!!
    Stay Safe.

  16. Thank you for the cute pattern , love it ! Your are so creative. I look forward to your daily videos.
    Happy Easter.

  17. Pat, thank you for the cute pattern. Quilting is keeping me sane these days. Happy Easter, be safe and well.

  18. “Let it go” was one of the few sentences my mother could say after her stroke at 77. I know her seven years with aphasia and paralysis of the right side of her body was difficult. That sentence was so forgiving and cleansing. I’m not ready to let go of current WIPs or kits I’ve put together, but attitudes and responses to others are things of which I need to work on letting go. Thank you, Pat, for todays’s great advice on three different levels, and for your daily support during this once-in-a-lifetime pandemic experience. You’re a real blessing.

  19. Thank you, Pat for the adorable pattern. How generous of you to share with all
    your quilting friends.
    Blessings on your Easter.

  20. Happy Easter. I am enjoying your daily live videos. I really like your tips and patterns especially the sew alongside Thanks

  21. I’m hanging in there with this “safe at home” order in TN. My husband & me & our dog, Brody, just stay close to home. Had to go out yesterday to pick up meds but we were able to just “drive up” for them with a less than 10 minute wait in line. Picking up my grocery order Monday. Had to wait a week but that just gave me more time to add things to my list. It’s like a surprise every time to see what I end up with because I know it won’t be a complete order. Lol!
I’m trying to keep up with your daily videos this month. Sadly, I only kept up thru 3/19 last month. So far this month I think I’m up to date except for yesterday & today which I’ll do next.
This past week I’ve been making face masks for my husband & I, our neighbors & my out of state family. Pretty sure I’m the only sewer in the family & as usual, I’m late to the mask making party. I have a few left to do & then off to the post office with them. I have family in IL & MI — 2 very hard hit by Covid19 states!
You & Gregg take care. Hope you are wearing masks when you go out in public……………..Happy Easter!

  22. Cute pattern that really represents the feeling of renewal in Spring. Thanks for keeping our spirits up every day.

  23. Just not enough hours in the day to do all the freebies that are popping up. So I pick and choose which ones I want to do. I will use your darling house pattern in a smaller size to make mug rugs for my cousin and her housemates. They live in assisted living and being on lock down they can’t have visitors. There are six of them and these (along with a couple other patterns) will make something that will be a bright spot on their tables. Useable as well.
Easter blessings to you. We serve a risen savior!

  24. I’m really enjoying your daily video. I love my stay at home quilt along.
These past weeks I am so thankful for my quilting and knitting. You can only watch so much tv!!
Thank you for being there for us…
    Karen

  25. Happy Easter! Thank you for sharing yours thoughts and inspiration with us each day. It has helped me to stay
more positive through this current situation. It is hard being away from our family but you have helped me to motivate
and I have been sewing them gifts to brighten their days too. I think I may have the cottage pattern and buttons in my stash already.
I’m going to go look it up for tomorrow’s project.

  26. Hi Pat, Happy Easter,
I love the pattern, thanks. I think that after I make masks that I have cut out, I will take a break from them and make this cute pattern.
I hope that you and your family stay well. Thank you for thinking of all of us.
    Blesssings,
    cheers,
    maggie

  27. Love the pattern! I think I’m going to make one for my front door, too. I really like that idea. Your daily videos are what I look forward to when I get up in the morning, a way of starting another crazy day on a positive note. I’m trying to stay focused while working at home and worrying about what’s going on outside my door. My husband and I are staying in and staying safe, but I do try to take an early morning walk each day. We try to remind each other that this isn’t going to be forever, and we have to be patient. I haven’t been very motivated to sew, but I do like your idea of planning 10 or 15 minutes a day to sit down at my sewing machine. I miss being creative!
Happy Easter, Pat, to you and Greg. And thanks for your daily chats!

  28. What a cute pattern – thank you! Your daily reminders ARE what is keeping me on track and motivated. Hadn’t cross-stitched in years and then you introduced us to Bloomtopia – both versions. Now I’m hooked again. Organized all my floss and x-stitch fabric last night and into today and “let go” of some old projects and am ready to dig into a new pattern that requires 64 colors. Your excitement is contagious. Blessings to you and the “shipping department” this Easter!

  29. First, thank you for this most adorable pattern. I plan on trying to make this. I’ll have to use different buttons, that I’ll be able to find.
I originally was doing ok with everything going on with the virus and things. But life really stinks for the world right now.I just hope and pray that people practice complete safety and protect themselves and their families.I also pray that things resolve soon, and God watches over everyone until then. God bless you Pat, you are our guardian angel. You may not believe this but you keep us grounded and keep us going.

  30. Pat I absolutely cannot remember what day is what but I really appreciate your YouTube videos and fb and instagram, the daily reminders are fun and your encouragement is great oh I also follow you on the Bloglovin app!! Thanks for all your help and time!!

  31. We are haging in there! It’s just me and hubby so we are able to do things separately that we enjoy. I sew and he heads to his mancave garage. It works for us!! Stay safe and Happy Easter! <3

  32. Thank you Pat for your inspiration Im making the banner for my apartment door. Loveit. Happy Hoppy Easter to you and yours.

  33. This is so cute! I love the above comment about putting it on the front door. Thank you for the free pattern. You just are not going to let us get bored with all these fun projects. You’re the best!

  34. Thanks for this super cute pattern. I’m going to be making one to hang on the front door. I might also do the table runner for a giveaway when the neighbourhood coffee ladies meet again.
