** PLEASE READ – Block #11**
Starting today our Wednesday Block will be on Tuesday for a few weeks. There was a scheduling conflict with the Charming Baby Sew Along and it had to move to Wed. It's not much fun to have 2 things on the same day so I'll shift Childhood Games to TUES for a few weeks. I'd rather shift it early than late!
And be sure you order your Baby Charming so you can start next week.. DETAILS AT https://patsloanquilts.com/charming-baby-sew-along/
…. Now… Back to Childhood Games!
I love Paper Dolls!!! Anyone else?

** The fabrics **
The light is the background fabric.. CUT ONLY what you need. don't cut width of fabric.
Goodies I Use
- Design Board http://shrsl.com/1dlvq
- Strawberry Ironing board cover https://shrsl.com/26zjt

** Directional Fabric **
- Take your light fabric and fold it over to audition how the directional fabric will look
- You will need to sew each set from different directions
- Keep the top of the fabric design at the top when working so you don't accidental flip them
- Press the crease so you have it as a reminder

Here are two more photos of the directions.
It's so easy to get it correct when you audition first!
- Block comes out each Wednesday Morning. BUT for the next 5 weeks it will be TUESDAY
- The email notice sends around noon est. Check your spam if you didn't get it
- For each pattern the last page has a mock up of the block in repeat and a sometimes coloring page to use for that
- Enter your Email for a notice
- Share your block at the end
- Also Join my Facebook community, we have so much fun!

Morning Pat just wondering when the next block for childhood games will be coming bock 11 is the last one I received and it says they will be coming every tuesday instead of wednesday. Many thanks
I love this block. I see Jenny Doan did one like it, too. Those bunnies are so adorable. What fabric line is that? I still have some of my daughter’s paper dolls in the storage room. Who knows…maybe someday another little girl will come along in our family.
Thanks SOOO much for the tip on HST and directional fabrics!! I just did a quilt top and didn’t like the way my triangles came out (I’ll keep the quilt antway) BUT, now I know how to do it better. Thanks so much, you are GREAT!
I made two paper doll quilts for my two (childless) adult daughters using the popular line of fabric. They played with paper dolls in the early 1990’s. For their identical quilts, I cut the clothes out and backed them with fusible flannel. I sewed a closing pocket on the back of the quilt to store the clothes, hats and shoes in. One daughter hung hers on the wall. The other one is probably a cat bed but, oh well. When I sewed the quilts I thought there could possibly be grandchildren in my future. I guess I really made them because of my memories of them playing paper dolls.
I loved playing with paper dolls. My best friend’s mother drew us some elegant ones that I still have in a box with all her dresses. This block is really neat, Pat! I like the way all the blocks together make secondary designs!
I loved playing with paper dolls. It was one of my favorite things to do with my cousins at Grandma’s House. I looked forward to cutting out the McCalls paper dolls too.
I had some when I was young that I used to trace the flat doll and try to make paper clothes for them. My mom always sewed so she would help me cut them out! Thanks for the great memory Pat.
Great block! I love the secondary pattern it makes! I may have to make a quilt with this one!!! I was a tomboy and wasn’t a big paper dolls kinda kid. I did have barbies though.
my Mom worked for Michigan Bell in Wyandotte Michigan. The winter that I got married there was a really bad snow storm. My hubby took her to the main highway that passed her work and helped her over the plowed show. she got into a car that didn’t stop, just opened the door and then stayed at work (where they had beds and food stocked and a kitchen right in the building. didn’t see her for 3 days. I played with paper dolls when I was little. im 75 now and can still remember Sally from then
My 3 year old niece & I played today’s “Paper Dolls” on a trip to Ohio. Today’s are made by a major children’s toy manufacturer (initials M&D) & are made out of wood with magnets in the doll & in the clothing. It helped her having to sit in the car seat for a length of time & our dolls had many changes of clothes & stories while we rode along.
HI, That method of getting the fabric going the correct directions is awesome. I would never have figured that out. Thanks so much.
I never met my mother-in-law (She died before I met my husband) but she worked for Michigan Bell.
Many years ago we purchased a telephone switch board! It was from a hospital in St. Louis. It was great fun to have in the house.
Have a good day!
Sarah
Oh thanks for the placement hints. I usually fold them trying to find the correct way. I will use your placement from now on.
I loved paper dolls! You cut out the little attached tabs and folded them over the doll. Then of course they had the kind that you would rub the clothes and they would stick to the doll. Now I guess they are made of material like Saran Wrap and just cling. My granddaughters never played with them. I’m so glad I did. Thank you Pat Sloan. Lots of good memories.
I loved paper dolls.. I had a special friend who came to visit her grandmother in the summertime. Our favorite thing to do was to sit on a hill in the grass and play with paper dolls.. I think our favorite was ballerina’s. I remember one named Sonya. Maybe that is why I still cut out paper snowflakes. Good memories, thanks Pat!
I also loved playing with paper dolls. One time my mother brought home a bonanza – she had gotten one of the big pattern books at the fabric store before they threw it out for the next season. I had a whole community of paper dolls!
