Organized Studio Space tour, DAY 3 of 3 giveaway!

I did a Facebook LIVE on Saturday morning to share my space… come take a look then enter Giveaway #3 at the end.

It was so much fun to flip on Facebook Live for an impromptu walk through my studio

I did not do the captions at Facebook because I have to manually edit them. It’s translator is not very good, and this one was too long for me to go through and rewrite it.
Instead I put it up at Youtube and you can select their closed caption which is better at translating

  1. My main project is a pineapple quilt alternating with an Old World Santa wall hanging. I can’t just work on one thing!

  2. I love those rolling carts! I have 2. One in my sewing room and one by my longarm. So handy! Currently I’m hand quilting a wool wall hanging that is going to be a Christmas gift. Love the tour of your studio!

  3. I am currently working on the SS2 project, plus I have fabrics and designs for two small quilts – a carpenter’s start quilt and an expanded nine-patch quilt. I have completed a small pinwheel quilt top, which I am going to longarm quilt at a LQS. It will be my first longarm project and I will select a simple edge-to edge design. I am excited about getting it done. If it goes well, I’ll reserve the machine for the other quilts, too. I have another project I am currently designing – a wonky star quilt. I have the fabric for it, but the design is more in my head than in the computer – I’ve started using EQ8 to design quilts! So much going on!

  4. I am currently working on a queen sized quilt that I designed for my granddaughter for a surprise graduation gift. Her 4 year old son picked out all of the fabric from my stash. I drew it out, cut the blocks out, cut out the flower shapes and made the flowers, did the piecing, layered and quilted this quilt while my husband was in the hospital. It has a center medallion of 4 churn dashes set on point surrounded by dimensional flowers made with batiks. A 1 inch blue batik border separates the medallion from a 7 inch off-white border containing more of the dimensional appliqued flowers. There is another 1 inch blue border , then at the top and bottom of the quilt I added 2 rows of 7 churn dashes with the sides having a single verticle row of churn dashes. The back is pieced with 5 churn dashes on point, surrounded with a blue fabric. Above and below is a strip of off-white, blue, off-white bands, followed by more of the blue fabric. Sadly, I completed this much of the quilt before my husband passed away. Now I am going to just finish quilting the top and bind it, making it a large lap quilt. And since this was the last quilt I worked on with my husband literally in the room with me, my granddaughter is letting me keep it till I pass on. I’ve made many quilts but this one holds a very special place in my heart.

  5. I’m sewing my first honeybee quilt and sewing along with Pat with Merry and Bright. I love it!!!! Thank you Pat for teaching me so much!

  6. “Princess” pillowcases for my granddaughters for Christmas. There parents tell them they live in a princess house!

  7. I am currently working on quilting several completed quilt tops. It seems like I get the tops done and basted then they sit and don’t get quilted. Then they become UFOs. I am trying not to start a new quilt until I have at least one UFO quilted and bound.

  8. I’m working on a Snowflake appliqué quilt that has about 60 snowflakes on it. I’m half way finished! I need a break from all the appliqué (stressful on the neck and shoulders) to say the least. So, I’ve started a scrappy quilt to use up a bunch of scrap fabric that isn’t big enough for a larger project.

  9. I am in the process of trying to complete several different things I had started – like putting the binding on 4 wall hangings. I am so working on the Kim Diehl Whatnots from a couple years ago. Nothing like being behind. Plus doing some charity quilts that our church group will be donating. Always one or more projects in the making.

  10. My current project is pillowcases for my grandchildren. Helping me use up some of my fabric bought for other projects

  11. I’m working on a small Dresden Plate quilt using feedsack scraps from my grandmother. I have the plates appliqed and the quilt set together, going to start hand quilting tonight.

  12. I’m currently working on several BOM’s from 2 quilt guilds I belong to, the Merry and Bright BOW, a BOM from Quiltin’ on the Square and Gomes for the Holiday and Bootachularfrom Fatcat patterns. I find I really like diversity of the patters.

  13. I am currently making a baby quilt for my daughters first baby and then plan to work on a couple of projects from “Merry Makers” for the holiday season. 🎄🤱

  14. I have several projects going at this time. I am LOVING your Merry and Bright SAL. My 8 yr old grandson is involved with the bonus challenge. Every time he is at my house he asks if he needs to pick out more house fabric. Other than the first block I made for the quilt, he has picked out all the fabric for each house block for the rest of the challenge. I am also making the Tula Pink sampler quilt with gnomeangel for the 100blocks100days2018 SAL. And I am making the 1920’s Farmers Wife EPP SAL with gnomeangel. My granddaughter has started learning how to cut out, glue, and sew hexagons with EPP. I love getting to pass on my love for quilting on to my grandkids. Then there is the Jelly Roll Jumble quilt I started on 9/15 for national Jelly Roll day and my quilt I started with Aqua Paisley’s SAL. That one I am sorry to say keeps being put on the back burner. One of these days I will get it done.

  15. I’m currently working on finish my Xmas list for family, friends and co-workers. Which is microwaveable bowl covers. I’m making at least 35.

  16. 1. King size quilted bedspread using Day at the Spa pattern. Blocks all done. It’s taking a few days to square them all. Trying to decide whether to QAYG it myself or take to a longarmer.
    2. Prepping a Quilted Christmas Ornaments class for my church’s Sew & Grow group.
