The Random picker decided my Logcabin quilt should live with Joann S who said

"My favorite quilt is the first quilt I ever made! My daughter wanted to learn to quilt and she convinced me to take a couple of classes at our fabric store – I was only mildly enthusiastic about quilting – even though I had been a sewer for years. I decided to check out additional classes for us at my local quilt shop and there on the wall was this wonderful quilt with birds on branches. When I asked about it – they told me they were having a retreat the following weekend to make this quilt! I signed up -( my daughter couldn’t attend for family reasons). I made that quilt, which I adore ( it hangs in my sewing room!). Since making that quilt, I am completely hooked on quilting! I had heard people talk about quilting as an addiction, but didn’t understand it until then. This was the quilt that got me to become a quilter!"

Congratulations Joann! I've emailed you

Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

1,214 Responses

  1. My fav quilt is a girl power quilt in a huge heart shape and each 10” square had fabric with inspirational fun girl power wording, I made 2 for a set of 12 year old twins for their birthday, from a family of 8 kids in my neighborhood. They have since moved away, I miss the girls and getting them treats, but hopefully they will remember our friendship when they use their quilts.

  2. Hi Pat, My favorite quilt I made was a disappearing 9-patch. The reason it is special to me is because of the fabric. It’s bees, in memory of my mother. Her quilt signature was Patti B and she always embroidered a cute bumble bee as part of her signature. I have this quilt on my guest bed and I think of her every day when I see the quilt.

  3. I haven’t finished any of my quilts yet. I’m excited to finish one so I can give it away. It’s ironic that we spend so much time on a passion we love, and then in give it away. But as I see it..we out our love into and then share the love and passion. My Auntie is the person who gave me the love for quilting. You do a wonderful job and excited about this giveaway!!

  4. My favorite quilt is a wall-hanging I made for my mom using 1930’s fabrics. It has appliqued butterflies and nine patch blocks.

  5. My favorite quilt that I made was Splendid Sampler 1 and 2. I learned so much from making those quilts.

  6. I made a sunshine panel quilt/wall-hanging. I thread-painted the sunflowers and free-motion quilted the rest of the quilt on my domestic sewing machine. I was amazed when I was doing the outside border, it actually matched up with the stitching when I got back to the beginning.

  7. Hi. My favorite quilt is Sparkler. It is a triangles and i challenged myself to do ruler work in the quilting

  8. My favorite quilt was an angel pattern that I made for my daughter for her wedding. It was my first needle turn applique quilt that was a class at my LYS at that time.

  9. My favorite quilt was a Weaver Fever. I had only been quilting for about 2 years when I decided to take a class offered by our local quilt shop. Taking a class like that was a newer experience for me. I had taken a sampler class prior when I first started quilting. The quilt was done in shade of blue, gold, browns and cream. I learned to much in that class and the quilt turned out beautiful. I had it longarmed quilted and it is to this day, 20 years later my most favorite of any quilt I have done.

  10. My favorite is the fall quilt I made and is on my kitchen wall -a weathered whiskey barrel full of autumn branches, branches with red berries and colorful leaves scattered in and around the ground of the barrel.

  11. My favorite quilt was my first. It’s a beginner using all Hoffman batik in 4-inch squares. I love deep fall colors. But I am teaching myself to use low volume color.

  12. I have travelled to Australia three times and collected fabric each time, these fabrics are very busy the quilt is the best to sleep under with all my memories love to have breakfast with you each day.

  13. I have never made a quilt yet that I didn’t love 🙂 But favorite would probably be the poinsettia tree skirt and matching patchwork stockings I made for my daughter’s family!!

  14. My favorite is twin apple core pattern quilts for my great granddaughter twins.
Thanks for all the help you share.

  15. My favorite quilt was the quilt I made for my first granddaughter/grandchild! I got the pattern off of YouTube around 10 years ago. The fabric had owls in it. Pink blue and yellow. She still has it and it makes me smile when I go for a visit!
Congratulations Pat on 100,000 subscribers! Amazing just like you 🥰

  16. My favorite quilt was a carpenter’s star in jewel tones and black background sprinkled with jewel tone dots
Made for a friend who had a tall wall above her fireplace and was looking for something to enhance the space.

  17. I made the X and O quilt by Missouri a star quilt company for my mom and did my first ever FMQ hearts.

  18. My favorite quilt is Denim and Leather Stars. I love how it turned out. Made it in February/march 2022.

  19. My favorite quilt that i have finished is Frost by Laundry Basket Quilts. Its a lovely blue & cream quilt. Lots of triangles and my first 2 color quilt. I finished the top at one of the last quilt retreats that I’ve been too.

  20. It’s a toss up between the Exploding Heart quilt I made last year for 50th anniversary and a Carpenters star quilt I made and have sewn my mom’s old doilies on.

  21. I think the quilt I was happiest with was a scrappy Stars and Stripes Forever. Star blocks and log cabin blocks in purples and greens. I made it for my best friend and she loved it. My second was a pattern from Podunk Pretties with pumpkins. I love displaying it every year throughout fall. Congratulations Pat on this milestone!

  22. My favorite finished quilt is one I made for my daddy. It started with blocks his mom had made that were given to me after she died. I added some blocks I made and it became an incredible Father’s Day gift.

  23. My favorite quilt is a mystery quilt that my quilt guild hosted. It stretched my comfort zone, but turned out really beautiful.

  24. Favorite quilt – ‘My Kinda Town’. I used a lot of scraps and used my favorite technique of paper piecing. Although I loved making all my quilts, this quilt reflects all the quilts I’ve made by using left over fabrics in all the buildings in this town quilt. It’s like remembering each of my finished quilts.

  25. My most memorable quilt is The Splendid Sampler 1. I learned so much from each designer and square I made. I finished the quilting myself although I was just a beginner quilter. I thank you and Jane Davidson for giving me such a great start in the world of quilting!

  26. I have made quilts for our nieces/ nephews and my two children when they graduated high school, and have been pleased with all of them. One that stands our for me is the quilt I made for my nephew who graduated in 2020. He was very involved with music activities. He played trombone in band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band. He also played piano and did Show Choir.
I ended up designing the quilt myself because I couldn’t find one that suited what I wanted. The center was made from a variety of burgundy, gold, black, creamy whites with music notes, instruments, etc on them and put in to a brick formation to represent the marching band. The bottom was literally a piano key board ( to correct side). To get the black keys to fit properly, I ended up doing a appliqué technique in top of the white keys. I had extra fabric left, so I made a coordinating pillow case. He was expecting a quilt and was he was pleased with the gift. He did take it to college to use on his bed.

  27. My favorite quilt is a grandmother’s flower garden that I made into triangles instead of the tradional round. I made it a long time ago and don’t use it anymore but it is boxed up and saved for generations to come.

  28. I made a bear paw log cabin many years ago at a sewing retreat using thimble berries fabric! I love the pattern and the fabric!

  29. My favorite quilt is a baby quilt I made for a dear co-worker’s first granddaughter. I used Pat’s March daily block pattern for a sage and tan quilt. The mother and grandmother loved it.

  30. My favorite quilt is a Moda Quilt-a-Long from last year. It is called “Letters to Santa”. And the best part is that I finished it before Christmas 2022!!!

  31. My favorite quilt is a quilt I designed for my beach loving daughter and her husband. I called it Beach Bargello and It turned out even better than I had hoped. She loves and and has had it on her bed for at least 15 years.

  32. Congratulations on 15 years! I’ve been watching your stream for about 3 years with my cup of coffee. My favorite quilt was a mystery challenge with 3 half yards of Christmas fabric but ended up buying another 6. I made a disappearing nine patch. It was so much fun since there was a shop hop at that time. Thanks for everything. Xo

  33. My favorite is a jelly roll log cabin in fields and furrows layout that I made for my MIL. Handquilted with pictograph-styled cats.

  34. My problem is I love all the quilts I have made. But, I think my favorite was the rainbow quilt we did during the pandemic. I gave the quilt away to a little girl who adored it. I might make it again.. but there are so many quilts to make 🙂
Thank you Pat- you taught me how to quilt

  35. My favorite quilt was a wall hanging of flip flops (shoes) in a circle kind of like a Dresden, and was three dimensional with ribbon tops to the flip flops and decorations on those ribbons. I had people wanting me to make them one. It was designed by someone who had taken a trip to Alaska, and saw flip flops in a circle like she designed and turned into an adorable fabric pattern.

  36. My favorite quilt is one of my first. I made it in a beginning quilt class. What I love most is the fact that I remember bringing it home and telling my husband how bad it was, this did not line up the point did not come out. He sat there and said okay take it a part and re do it. I was like are you crazy. He smiled and said not so bad then. I as learned with this quilt if you put it away for a while, the things that glared at you while you made it, seem to disappear. When I see this quilt I think of my husband and his support. And then the lessons.

  37. My favorite quilt is called Women of the Bible, I participated in a Block of the month sew-a-long led by my dear friend/teacher, Kaaren, who recently passed away. Each block was named and a write up was included on her life. I was amazed how much I didn’t know about the Women of the Bible. Thanks Pat, love your you-tubes and all the sharing that you do with us.

  38. My favorite quilt was Dear Jane. It was a great learning experience because I learned a lot of techniques I had never done before.

  39. My favorite quilt I gave to a friend I worked with years ago. Wish I had taken a picture. She was pregnant with her first baby girl. It was so much fun giving away that first baby quilt.

  40. I think my favorite quilt is usually the last one finished but as I think about it today my favorite quilt is the first one I made for my one and only grandchild before she was born. The whole time I was making it, I was anticipating being a grandma – which is much greater than anyone can put into words!!

  41. My favortive quilt I have completed is my Hope quilt that we did as a block a day quilt a couple of years ago. It was so fun picking all of the fabrics for the blocks. I added words to the center of each block including the words Hope. It brings me joy everytime I look at it. Thank you for all you do.

  42. I bought a quilt kit that had the most beautiful colors called Eufloria the blocks were big and went together so easy. The most beautiful fabric’s I have ever seen. I had everything finished so quickly and didn’t want to stop after I finished, I tried to buy more of the fabrics but couldn’t find it anywhere. But it is honestly my most favorite and awesome quilt ever.

  43. Love, your insight on quilting. I have learned so much. Many thanks, keep up the good work. Favorite quilt is the Bull’s Eye quilt, I made last year.

  44. My favorite quilt is the one that I made with Pat Sloan’s Liberty Hill block. I made it as a stained glass attic window quilt.
