There are so many blessings to be thankful for in 2024. Having more time to spend with family especially my granddaughter after retirement was the highlight of my year. And of course more sewing time! Thanks for all you do to keep us quilters inspired!

  1. Two fabulous trips; the first in February – March in New Zealand. The second to Tasmania travelling in my motorhome from September – December. I am truly grateful.

  2. Learned so much, sew more than before, watched YouTube (quilting related) almost daily. Thank you Patty for your videos!

  3. I was thrilled to finish many quilts this year, enjoyed your Ode To National Parks quilt along, and glad to have both my daughter and granddaughter back to sewing three generations together. Wishing everyone a wonderful, healthy, and prosperous 2025!

  4. I’m very grateful for all I have every year, iand 2024 was no exception. At 76 years old I’m grateful for my health, my family, and the entire quilting community that keeps me busy and energized.!

  5. The best thing that happened to me this year has been planning for my retirement from teaching, by building my stash for more quilting time. I’ve had so much fun shopping for fabric!

  6. The best thing of 2024 for me is that I was able to lose weight. Everything is so much easier for me to do now. I can get more done and get back to quilting faster! Yay!

  7. A lot of amazing things happened this year. My child got married, my child returned home from a two-year mission to France and my other child received word that she will be headed to Spain for her mission.I traveled a lot and enjoyed many happy hours in my sewing room.

  8. Happy New Year!!
In 2024 I was able to travel to MT twice to see our daughter and son-in-law!
    The best gift ever 💕💕

  9. The best thing that happened to me this year was that I received a new sewing machine and quilting hoop. I hope to quilt most of my own quilt tops now! I am enjoying practicing almost every day.

  10. I won the raffle from the Virginia museum. It was the pink, red and black quilt made by Pat. It was so wonderful I never win things. Thank you so much Pat for all you do for our sewing community.

  11. Although 2024 was definitely a challenge for me, I am so grateful for my quilting friends and the online quilting community. Quilting gave me something positive to focus on when I needed it the most. At Christmas, when friends and family were unwrapping gifts, it finally hit me that I really did accomplish a lot when everyone received at least one sewn gift from me and a few received more than one. I completed two quilts and many pillowcases, placemats, napkins and table runners.

  12. The best thing about 2024 was spending time with my kids and grandkids. Really to looking forward to this year. Two of our granddaughters are graduating from high school, both are getting quilts. I made quite a few quilts this past year and more on my list for 2025.

  13. I enjoy your videos Pat! Thank you. This past year we moved to a small village away from busy city life and we are very happy with our decision.

  14. The best thing happen to me was after my eye surgery I can see. I have not been able to sew because I could not see. My eyes are getting better. What a blessing. I can get back to sewing my Quilts.

  15. Going to the Pacific ocean for our daughter’s 50th birthday was one of the highlights of 2024. Special memories and a special time with family. I enjoy watching your videos, so thank you so much.

  16. Highlight of 2024 was my daughter treated me to 5 days at Disney World with her at Caribbean Beach and we did Hollywood Studios at night, closing the park at 1 a.m. What a great time!!

  17. Best thing about 2024 was going to the beach with my daughter, son-in-law and three grandkids. Also got to visit my grandson in Alaska as well as our son and daughter-in-love! Family time is the best! ❤️❤️❤️

  18. 2024 brought me my first T-Shirt quilt project. A friend hired me to make a quilt for her husband who was retiring from being a Scoutmaster. One of the best things was that my husband helped with design elements and we collaborated together. Project involved t-shirts, neckerchiefs, embroidery, and photos. They loved the outcome which was such a relief.

  19. Our first great granddaughter was born in 2024. I made three very challenging quilts which raised my skill level and overall sewing skills. It was a good year.

  20. The very best thing that happened in 2024 for me was that 5 of my 6 children were able to surprise me with a family weekend getaway for my 60th birthday. They were able to tell me untruths to get me 4 hours away from home to surprise me. It was an amazing weekend as our children do not live close and traveled from as far as Florida to Kansas for this surprise!!

  21. I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I survived a stroke and realized how much love and support I have from all my many friends and family. I also realize the strength and resilience I have within myself. I went from not being able to feed or dress myself ( in March) to finally getting back into my sewing room actually finishing. 6 quilts (with a little help from a dear quilting friend) and gifting one to each of my 6 grandkids. God is good

  22. The best part of this year was I got to see my Grandaughter and Daughter .
Also I made a quilt for my Great Great Nephew!

  23. After two shoulder surgeries and turning 80 years of age early next year, I am grateful for the many friends who helped with my recovery and grateful for the ability to sew quilts again.

  24. The highlight of this year for me was our family trip to National Parks. We got to introduce our son and his family to Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Cody, and Mt. Rushmore. It was really fun watching the grandkids’s reactions.

  25. The more I quilt, the more I need to quilt. The urge just overtakes me. It’s not a complete day if I don’t quilt.

  26. We had 2 great granddaughters born and they are perfect! ALSO, in November I had my last oncology appointment!! Woo hoo! What an answer to prayer!

  27. I think the best thing in the year was just to get it done-‘‘‘twas NOT a good year. Here’s to a better one!

  28. The best part of 2024 was that the doctors were able to catch my husband’s cancer early and after treatments they feel he is clear. He still has many side effects from the treatments but we are hopeful it will get better each day. “Each day is a gift. Each breath is life.”
I was happy to watch many of Pats videos and start a few of the quilt a longs. I enjoyed making my first “oh my Stars quilt ” there will hopefully be more in 2025.

  29. In 2024, I got to slow down a little and just enjoy my day-to-day processes. I know it sounds simple but it has made me so much more grateful.

  30. So many things have happened in 2024, lots of up’s and down’s, but
we end this year by becoming grandparents for the first time to a beautiful baby girl
who has already stollen our hearts!!!🩷 I have many quits planned for her. 💕 I have a
beautiful sewing cave and I look forward to spending lots of time in there in 2025!!!

  31. 2024 I learned all about quilting and loving to sew again! My passion has been reignited and I can’t wait to start some new projects in the coming year! Sewing is my therapy!!

  32. Happy New Year! In 2024 I made the Slam Dunk basketball quilt by Cluck Cluck Sew for my nephew and he absolutely loves it. That made my quilting year

  33. I finished two Sewcialites 2 quilts and costume quilted them both. They turned out lovely. One is the largest size and the other is the smallest size. They both have the same fabrics in the same place. It’s like a momma and baby quilt. I smile every time I see them. Makes me sew happy 😁

  34. One of the best things of 2024 was that I was able to have a girls weekend with 4 of my best friends since grade school! Way over due and lots of memories shared (and made).

  35. I got to go to Quilt con this year! Yeah for it being in my hometown! Was so cool to see everyone’s inspiring works and meet several designers

  36. The best thing about 2024 was our whole family vacation in August. Even though it rained all week it was still great being all together and enjoying each other’s company. Thank you Pat for all you do. Happy New Year!

  37. In March of 2023 my then 44yo son suffered severe brain injury due to an infection in his brain. He has gone from barely being able to speak to being able to say a few words to only being able to visit if he didn’t look at you to now being able to deliver sermons again. His stamina has gone from only being out of bed a few minutes to working at most 45 minutes to now working 3 hours at a time. God is teaching us all patience and gratitude. Personally, I just wrapped up my 7th year as a quilt shop owner.

  38. Pat, Happy New Year! Here’s to a happy, healthy 2025! Thank you for all that you contribute to the quilting world!

  39. A very special memory of 2024 was that my Quilt Guild was comissioned to make a huge quilt to hang in a new building in Green Hills (suburb of Nashville TN) We are going as a group on our next meeting in Janiuary to see it. Alex Anderson found out about it and featured it on her Quilt Show. So exciting. I tried to figure out a way to post a picture but cannot figure out how in the comment section. I will try to forward a picture to your site.

  40. I started to lose my quilting mojo but when shopping for a new sewing machine, my husband told me to future proof my hobby and purchase the bigger machine. So I did! I welcomed a Baby Lock Solaris to the family! Can’t wait to tackle my UFOs!
Happy New Year everyone! AND Pat, thank you for your videos, I’ve learned so much from you.

  41. The best thing that happened in 2024 is that I was awarded my disability benefits, I have been fighting for them since 2018. So I am extremely grateful. My quilting has slowed down considerably but I am hopeful to continue working towards new goals.
