There are so many blessings to be thankful for in 2024. Having more time to spend with family especially my granddaughter after retirement was the highlight of my year. And of course more sewing time! Thanks for all you do to keep us quilters inspired!

  1. I retired in June and in September I went to the Garden of Quilts in Utah. I wanted to go for years. Being a teacher I was not able to take vacation time in September. It was such a wonderful experience. I met lots of quilters and quilting celebrities. I attended a fireside chat with Melissa Gilbert, Let’s Make a Quilt, and an Afternoon Tea. I visited a dinosaur museum and butterfly biosphere. I took classes from Minki Kim, Famingo Toes and Jedi Craft Girl. The gardens and quilt exhibition were amazing. It was definitely a quilter’s dream vacation.

  2. 2024 was an interesting year. I’ve been learning to navigate life on my own since the passing of the love of my life. I helped a friend make 30 pocket prayers to hand out to her Circle of Friends. I also started a paper pieced quilt project that I can’t wait to finish.

  3. The best memory of 2024 was a family vacation. All of my sibling’s together for the first time in sixteen years. We had a blast. Never been in a hurricane, all of us stuck at my sister’s house. We rode it out lots of laughter and tears.but the memories wonderful.

  4. Best thing about 2024 is that I get to see my daughters and grandaughters just about everyday. I have a wonderful quilting friend that we try to do a sewing weekend once every two months. Also have some of the best friends a person could wish for. ❤️

  5. The best thing about 2024 was spending more time with my grandchildren. The second best was I was gifted a long arm machine and frame. 2025 is going to be a year of learning how to operate it!

  6. I’ve been enjoying an another year of retirement. I found being retired takes a little work. To do the things you want to do you need to learn to say no to all the things everyone wants you to do. Happy New year to everybody.

  7. I know you’re not a cat person Pat! I received 3 kittens for my birthday and 2024 was joyful with three balls of fur! But game night with the grandsons are always a joyful time. Happy New Year!

  8. Going on a cruise with my 27 year old son to the British Virgin Islands. It was a beautiful cruise one I will not forget. It was so nice to spend time with my adult child. He would bring me a Mimosa every morning to my cabin!! Thanks Pat for the Giveaway!,,love your videos

  9. Spending lots of time with my grandkids is a favorite.
    I also was able to donate many quilts to charity using what was in my stash.

  10. The Flower Shop pattern is lovely! As a Gardner it would be perfect in my coveted porch! The Meafow collection is warm and inviting!!!

  11. Feeling very blesses to have spent more time with my daughter quilting, I get to volunteer in my Grandson’s TK class once a week, and volunteering at church helping with memorial’s when they have them to do.

  12. My favorite memory for the year 2024 is having my grandson Jack ask for a dinosaur 🦕 🦖 quilt for his bed! He is 5 years old. It was fun piecing the blocks designed by Elizabeth Hartman and seeing it all come together. I love sewing for everyone and enjoy giving them a memory from me with a big HUG ❤️🥰
    Happy New Years 🎉🥳🎊 2025 to you Pat and blessings to ALL with lots of quilting 🪡🧵time to create!

  13. In March of 2024, my first grandchild was born. Of course I made him a baby quilt. It has been an exciting year of watching him grow. My sister moved closer to me in August of 2024, so I had to make her a quilt as well. Overall a good year.

  14. 2024 was a celebration of rekindling my love of reading. I went crazy at our library’s used book sales and read more than 100 books during the year.

  15. I have a long list of great things that I am grateful for in 2024; a few are:
    Became a great aunt for the third time;
    Two children graduated from a trade and found great job placements;
    Found our retirement home and moved into it;
    I have more time to quilt and will be enjoying that in 2025.

  16. My 2024 was awesome. I sewed more than ever and completed so many great projects. But the best was I ended 2024 sewing with my 2 granddaughters. It was so fun spending time with them and creating fun patchwork sweatshirts they saw on Pinterest. I am so blessed and thankful and pray that 2025 is a great year for everyone. Stay positive and find joy in something every day. Can’t wait to see what Pat has in store for us in 2025. Happy Stitching!

  17. 2024 was an uneventful year for my family, which is a blessing, since the last fifteen were very hard and full of loss and illness, I am nine years survivor of lung cancer, and have enjoyed your videos and patterns. Thank you and I wish everyone a great uneventful new year.

  18. Happy New Year Pat & Gregg. The best thing about 2024 is doing some camping with our oldest grand daughter. She really enjoyed her time with us. And taking the 3 grandkids to Grand Beach, MB.

  19. So many beautiful things happened in 2024. My nephew and his wife had a beautiful baby and moved closer to me! My job is going well! But most of all my family is happy and close. I hope this next year is equally blessed!

  20. One of the best things about 2024 is that I retired July 31st! Being retired allows me more time for quilting and to join in on the daily chats while watching your videos as well as more time to quilt and joining in on the sew alongs!

  21. The most wonderful thing about 2024 is that my family- son daughter and two grandchildren were together with me for the first time in 12 years. It was magical!
    I love your video and watch each and ever one – along with my morning coffee.
    All the best in 2025

  22. My middle daughter got married this year. Her & hubby purchased a new production facility and restaurant space for our family bakery. My oldest daughter announced she is opening an educational distillery in Virginia. So exciting -looking forward to 2024

  23. 2024 was the year of new knees!! Double knee replacement and I am now “on the move”! I see improvement every day! It’s been a year of learning all about balance. A balance between too much activity and inactivity!

  24. 2024 was the year I met my granddaughter and was reunited with my grandson. They are every bit of my heart and soul and I am blessed to be their Maga.

  25. Happy new year 🎆
    Love watching you with my morning coffee. And love the chance for a great kit.
    My accomplishments for 2024 were to complete 19 quilts. Many of these were UFOS.
    Thank you for your work and support of the community.

  26. I had the most wonderful trip to Hawaii with my family in 2024 followed by my oldest Granddaughter’s beautiful wedding a month later. I now can say I have set foot in every State of the USA!

  27. My highlight of 2024 was a visit from my sister & brother-in-law who I had not seen in 3 years! I look forward to your videos & projects. Happy New Year!

  28. Having my son and family to visit us and spending time with our family was the best thing about 2024 After a couple of bouts of ill health for my husband it was just the tonic we needed. Our little grandson is such a character and a blessing to spend time with.

  29. The bright spot in 2024 is that I found out my son and DIL will be having another baby in March 2025. We all thought they were done but surprise, surprise!! This will be my 7th grand child so of course I am making a quilt for him.

  30. This year has been kind of difficult looking forward to 2025. Pat, thanks for all of your advice and sewing adventures. Looking forward to all your videos. Happy New Year’s to all.

  31. It has been a tough year for me personally but I am so grateful for my loving and supportive husband, my two wild and wonderful boys and my few close friends! I am excited to get back to my quilting in the new year with my guild retreat in January!

  32. Something wonderful about 2024: My granddaughter celebrated her first birthday. After a very scary birth and weeks of health issues, she finally is doing well.

  33. In 2024 I traveled to Europe and took a river boat cruise. It was the most relaxing vacation and an adventure of a life time.

  34. I moved my sewing area to the living room in 2024. It has been the best! I am not in a small room anymore and since it is only me and the animals, we can all be together. I still trip over them. But, there is a lot more room and I can see everyday without a big effort.

  35. The best thing about 2024 (and every year) is to watch my family growing and thriving. Whether it is grandkids trying out and loving new sports, my son pursuing his Masters or my other son and his wife advancing in their careers, it is all very satisfying. My husband and I are traveling and exploring our hobbies in retirement, but quilting is still my first love and your daily community of quilters adds immeasurably to my experience. Thank you Pat and a Happy New Year to all!

  36. A wonderful thing in 2024 is my husband stayed every night at the hospital with me after major surgery – 26 days! He’s my hero and guardian angel!

  37. One of the best things I decided in 2024 was to finally take a trip to Scotland with my 2 sisters. We have been talking about it for years and are going to do it in 2025! Our 3rd great grandparents are from Scotland.

  38. Pat, Happy New Year to you and Greg! A fitting time to take decide what unfinished projects to take into the new year and which need to be released to a new maker to make room for new things!

  39. So any blessings in 2024 but watching my grand babies make milestones is always the best. They have my heart. Can’t wait to continue my quilting journey and hoping for more sewing time in 2025. Cheers Pat Tia wonderful new Year!

  40. Pat, the best thing from this year was needing able to visit my family more often!!! My grandson also got to travel with us to see his cousins he hadn’t seen in over 4 years!! Thank you Pat for all you do to help us through the year!❤️

  41. I would love to quilt that flowershop quilt. It’s been a really rough year and can’t afford to buy a kit. Universe, please line up for me.

  42. The highlight of 2024 was going to the northwest of the US with 2 of my quilting friends. We visited some family, explored the area, then went on to beautiful Banff in Canada. This was bittersweet for me because my late husband and I had gone to that area years ago, and many memories were brought to mind. Of course, being quilters we went to every quilt shop that we could find along the way. It’s so much fun to see how all the fabrics differ from region to region. Now I look forward to creating something with these new fabrics!

  43. The best thing about 2024 in my quilting journey was making two memory quilts for a dear friend who lost her son unexpectedly. They were a joy to make!

  44. I created a quilt for my adult son using blues, sand and denim print fabrics that suggest enjoying time at the beach – his happy place. Plus, after replacing the carpeting with hardwood in our home, including my sewing room, I revamped, decluttered, and organized the space so that it is an inviting space to create in. I’m looking forward to many enjoyable quilting experiences in 2025. Happy New Year!

  45. My son and family from South Dakota came to celebrate Christmas with me! I had not seen them for 1-1/2 years. What a lot of fun we had.
