In 2024, the best thing that happened to me was on December 20th…I RETIRED!!!!! WHOO HOO! It’s so nice to get up when you want to. I can now spend more time quilting, cross stitching, lace making and much more. HAPPY DANCE! HAPPY DANCE!! HAPPY DANCE!!!
The best part of 2024 was having time. I had the time to deal with a health issue that led to complications and the finding of a heart issue that I never would have found otherwise. I found time to take 2 craft classes, and try other crafts. We spent time with family and friends to celebrate my father’s life and later in the year to celebrate 10 years of marriage to my husband. So time was my blessing this year.
In 2024 I finally got my inspiration back. Finished some old projects and started some techniques. I would love to win the flower shop quilt.
How exciting! Thank you for your part in the conservation, preservation of history.
Our granddaughter was born in October, both she and our daughter had a very traumatic time. So very grateful to see them both doing well, my heart is full. In the quilting arena, so grateful to be part of this group and learn more from Pat each day. We are indeed blessed to have this group to share talent and ideas.
I made it around the sun another 366 days(leap year)! That is something to rejoice about!!!
I made and gifted 2 panel quilts. It was enjoyable and challenging to figure out the surrounding borders. But both grands loved them.
I added my 5th grandson on 2024.
One of the best things about 2024 was finishing up so many UFO’s thanks to inspiration from Pat Sloan. Her cheerful, encouraging videos are informative and fun and get my quilting ideas going!
Loved all the videos this year. You helped me to stay inspired. What a wonderful group of ladies
I had an absolutely crazy fall. At my local quilt shop’s anniversary sale, I won their grand prize. I won a Bernina 790 Pro. Since I’d already bought a used 790 Pro, I was able to trade both machines in and now I have a 990 Pro. Winning this anniversary sale give away was the only way I’d ever been able to have this top-of-the-line machine.
Happy New Year 2025 … praying for good health and happiness to all! Thank you Pat for all you do and for this quilt contest opportunity… what a way to kick off the new year !❤️
I was excited to have quilted my first full size quilt on my new domestic machine. Blessed in 2024 to spend time with our granddaughters. They give me ideas of things they want me to sew for them. Usually taking me out of my comfort zone. They help me grow, as does this group.
I dream of the day that I can make a quilt near as good as the ones I see here. I make a lot of crazy quilts for my family, I’ve finished about 13 in 2024 and am working on another couple now. I find that I get better as I learn more.
The best part of 2024 was celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to England, Ireland and Scotland. A dream come true! Thank you Pat for sharing all of your quilting knowledge and your encouragement.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Pat and all of you lovely sewing folks! Im working on a few unfinished projects and enjoying the wintry scenes outside!
In 2024 you popped up on my Facebook page and I started following you. This led me to get back into quiliting after a break of about 20 years. I have completed a few wall hangings since then and love getting inspired by everyone. I am in the process of converting a downstairs area into my quilting room.
Making as many quilts as I can each year. I am so inspired by so many wonderful patterns! Came to quilting later in life and my passion for it continues on. Thanks for your videos and Wednesday sew alongside too!
At the age of 67, I finally went on my first trip to Europe, hopefully it won’t be my last!
2024 was NOT a good year but winning one of Pat’s & Fat Quarters give away would start 2025 off on a better path.
Ahhh, 2024!! So many friends and good health!! Made and finished a quilt for my lovely sister in law. Onward and upward to 2025!!
2024 brought a huge first for our family. My mom flew to the US from Puerto Rico for the first time in over 40 years. She had been petrified to fly and 2024 allowed her to have wings :). It was such a wonderful time spent with all her 5 daughters and grand kinds. She was so excited.
Thank you for your videos
Thank you Pat for your videos. I watch them while I have my coffee in the morning. I have learned so much from you and look forward to your videos. Company in the morning. I also get motivated to move and work on my quilts. Thanks again.
Taking time to enjoy my granddaughter. She’s my 20 month old everything. She’s been the highlight of 2023 when she was born and 2024 just observing all her growth and development. Completely amazing.
2024 involved a lot of travel for our family. Many great memories made.
The wonderful thing about 2024 was that my two daughters got out of toxic relationships and are happily moving forward. One got through some of her struggles by sewing (learning all the things) and both of them cross stitch to help them relax. I am so proud of them for being strong and doing the tough thing of letting go and moving forward. I am also proud of them for leaning on their creative sides and focusing on something positive.
My sister surprised me and my best friend from high school (40 year friendship) with concert tickets to see George Strait for our birthdays. We had a fabulous time.
I retired in 2024 and have time to quilt! Finally have more time for family and friends- so special.
I’m soooo happy that my son came home to visit from the military:)
I started quilting in November 2022, so a highlight for me in 2024 was to finally complete a king quilt for a friend. I bought the fabric for her before I even knew what to do with it, so it really did define my quilt journey so far. Thank you for all your inspiration and the fun giveaway. Happy New Year.
I retired on January 3rd, so will have more time to dedicate to quilting. Hooray! Also, I hope to spend more time with my four grandchildren and two more (twins) on the way. My husband and I want to travel more. It will be a great year!
2024: Trip of a lifetime to the Baltics and Norway! Magical time with my husband!
2024 highlight-I was able to complete and gift four quilts which is a huge First for me. By the end of the binding, it was bittersweet to let each go.
My first make for ’25 is a quilt for my cousin (who is like my sister) as a thank you gift for planning a family trip to Greece that 6 of us took last year. She put so much work into the planning, that she deserves something wonderful as a thank-you from me. I picked out a focus fabric with teal flying birds which she will love. Now I just have to pick the pattern and get crackin’! Thank you for the opportunity to win a great give-away!!! ~Caroline P.
We survived 3 hurricanes with minimal damage! Thankful for that and so much more.
The most special thing for me that I will remember from 2024 (besides watching my 2 and 6 year olds grow so big and become best friends), is the “What’s in your Closet?” quilt that I was able to make for one of my sisters (we’re triplets). My sister moved from Tennessee to California and had to sell her house and all of her belongings, which I know was hard for her. She gifted me her fabric stash and I was able to use a lot of it to make her a lovely quilt that I can now ship to her. Thank you, Pat!
Enjoying time with family and friends in 2024. Making sure it’s on re-peat for 2025.
Having our daughter and her family come back to Florida to celebrate Christmas with the entire family💗
The best thing about 2024 for me was not sewing related but rather a friend receiving a kidney transplant just before Christmas. Best news ever! Thank you to anyone who has signed a donor card and to every family that makes the decision to donate organs at a terrible time of their lives.
Flower shop quilt is charming !
2024 was one for the books, definitely bittersweet…but the best part of the year was my husbands recovery from an unexpected health issue that was fortunately diagnosed before it became a more severe and life altering health issue!! Thank you for a great way to start off 2025 by a chance to win this super cute quilt kit!!
Happy New Year! My daughter has been fighting appendix cancer PMP for over 4 years. This past year, after her third major surgery, she dealt with a nephrostomy tube, several infections, and sepsis. At the beginning of December, her problem kidney was removed, they found no evidence of any cancerous tumors, and she is feeling better than she has in a long time. We are all elated and so happy for this wonderful news. Last year we spent the month of December in a hospital in PA — this year, the whole family enjoyed a white Christmas in WI. That, too, was wonderful.
Thanks so much for your videos. I’m looking forward to new projects this year.
I loved finishing all the quilts for my nieces and nephews for 2024.
This year has been a roller coaster, Husband started immunotherapy, i finished my last 2 college classes to receive a degree, we have been blessed with being close to our children and grandchildren. We are so blessed
That’s wonderful news!!
Hope I get chosen! I love everything about this! Thank you Pat!
I am a retired teacher of 35 years and NEW to quilting! I care for my grandsons 3 days a week and then help my mom who is 92 and lives independently still. My goal is to give myself one day a week for me. I have watched many of your videos and have started several projects. I am hoping to do the Block of the Month as well. 2024 passed way to quickly, adventures and time with family will always be the highlights every year for me. Family is precious and time is the gift I give and receive from them. 2025 is a new year and I hope to make a quilt for each of them! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, talent and time with all of us.
I took a trip to Alaska in March, 2024. While I only briefly saw the lights, we took a marine biat out of Seward and spent time just floating and observing whales 🥰
Thankful for all my Quilting Friends ✂️🧵🪡
