There are so many blessings to be thankful for in 2024. Having more time to spend with family especially my granddaughter after retirement was the highlight of my year. And of course more sewing time! Thanks for all you do to keep us quilters inspired!

  1. The positive for 2024 for me was actually getting my UFO list down to 5 by the end of the year. It was my challenge for the year and I’m pleased to say I got it done. I love all the videos that I was blessed to be able to watch and all the helpful hints you gave throughout the year.

  2. It was my first full year of quilting and I learned so much! I managed to finish a few projects and grow in confidence to start to tackle more in 2025!

  3. So many great things about 2024–I turned 61, had a reunion of friends from middle school getaway, celebrated by dad’s 88th birthday, and didn’t finish up nearly as many UFO’s as i had planned. Best of all, I quit working full time, and am easing into the “mostly retired” stage of my life. I love it!! and the UFO’s will carry over to 2025.

  4. In 2024, I finally bought my 1st sewing machine and started quilting and Im hooked. Took me so long to decide and finally jumped in. Im so thankful for all the youtube videos and quilt alongs for helping me start and do my first projects. Now I yave too many projects but cant wait to start Pat’s granny BOM.

  5. In 2024 I fulfilled my life long dream of travelling to Ireland. I was there solo on a bus trip with a bunch of strangers, but made a lot of friends and had so many good , amazing moments.

  6. The best thing about 2024 was the birth of my grandson to my daughter who has experienced fertility issues for years. I made him a quilt of course, which my daughter uses as a background for his monthly pictures!

  7. I was able to mark off a couple of bucket list items with a trip to the Grand Canyon and the British Isles. They had been on the list for a while so marking them both off in the same year was amazing.

  8. I was named Quilter of the year by my guild, Naples Quilters Guild of Naples, Florida. I am not a Star quilter but I am the Community Service Chair and lead the group in our efforts to donate quilts to the local Children’s Advocacy Center. We donate about 200 quilts each year. So proud of our efforts and the support of the guild for this annual project.

  9. Hi. Best thing happened for my sister and I we went on our first Sister trip to Missouri Star Quilt Company and included our brother. He had a Wonderful and memorable trip

  10. The best of 2024 was finding out that I’m going to be a grandma!! Can’t wait to make a few baby quilts!!

  11. I got a quilt top for my sister (the. most helpful sister in the world) done and was afraid I could not get it quilted before Christmas, but I found someone who got it done in time.

  12. Best things my daughter moved close enough for me to see the grands all the time and my husband’s cancer surgery was successful – cancer free!!!

  13. 2024 was a great quilting year for me! I attended my first quilt retreat in February and then again for my second one in September. I also did my first two shop hops…the Texas shop hop and a more local one. Also, a friend and I have been working on cleaning our sewing rooms at church and have started an every-other-week quilt day for working on donation quilts and teaching others to sew.

  14. The best thing about 2024 quilting was that I got the area around my machine organized. Since I bought a travel machine, my other could stay home. I got it set up so I know where everything is. Now to work on the rest of my room!

  15. The best thing that happened to me was that I was able to begin my quilting journey. I am sew hooked! This group has answered questions I did not even know I had.

  16. I received full custody of my 13 year old grandson. This kept him out of Foster care. It has and is a Blessings.

  17. I’m such a beginning quilter, but I’m having so much fun learning. I watch your Wednesday videos and they bring me such excitement and good tips that I smile all day. I’m hoping one day to send you a picture of a half-way decent completed quilt! 😄😜
Thank you for your wisdom and joy! Happy New Year.

  18. The most memorable quilty thing is that finished is fun, illness interfering with quilting is not! Looking forward to 2025!

  19. i am 83 and we had a Bruce family reunion beginning Dec,27 for 7 days, I have 6 children 19 grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren. I decided since most of them were in attendance, at house, my sons house and I rented a 3rd. house in Winston Salem NC., to have them pick the quilts they would like to have when I pass. We had 3 rounds of 19 quilts (57) for all the grandchildren When I pass the quilts they chose will be given to them. We took a picture of each with them in the picture as well as written documentation. They came from Massachusetts, California, Hawaii, and North Carolina for 3 of the 6 families. My 15 year old granddaughter chose my first quilt. When she first saw my quilts she like that one (many years ago}and it was a muted color sampler learning on each block. I now choose much bolder colors. When it was over I said Emmerson I never use this one so you can have it now. Of course I have made all of them baby quilts and quilts for different events. I had no idea I had that many quilts wall-hangings ,and table runners as I give so many away. Beside my family I have the joy of giving to Brenners chilrens hospital, senior Services, City Lights and other charity donations.

  20. I finally picked up where I left off sewing an owl quilt for a friend. I started the quilt several years ago and ended up in a non-hand sewing slump.

  21. grand baby 25 was born just a few days before christmas new job lots of family time so many memories made thankful fur an amazing quilting family as well peace love and good health to all

  22. 2024 was a great year for quilting. Wishing all the quilters lots of finishes in 2025. KEEP ON QUILTING

  23. My most wonderful moments in 2024 were the end of the 2024 hurricane season living in SW Florida and being able to own a Brother Luminaire 3! One brought me joy and one brought me dread, fear and eventually feeling very lucky! so Goodbye 2024 and welcome to the shiny New Year!!! Wishing you an awesome 2025!

  24. Things I remember most about 2024 is time spent with family! I love my 6 awesome grandkids, my 4 kids and 1 son in law and 1 daughter in law. I also want so may good things for them! I also remember my husband and I going on 2 big vacations together with no one else just us! All in all 2024 was a pretty great year!

  25. Two things come to mind. Got a pacemaker last August and have been feeling so much better. In October hubby and I took a two week cruise on the brand new Sun Princess cruise ship. Much fun! Happy New Year!

  26. My husband retired from teaching saxophone at the University of Denver for 38 years. Our daughters and grandkids came for a big celebration with friends and faculty. I retired the previous year so now we can travel and fill our lives with things we want to do together.

  27. The best part about 2024 was doing 30 days of quilting and posting it on my social media. It kept me really accountable and I got so much quilting done!

  28. For me the best thing that happened is my brother has completed his chemo and radiation treatments and his scans show no evidence of cancer. I’m truly grateful that our prayers have been answered.

  29. The best thing about 2024 was my family being nearby to help after several hospital stays of my husband and myself! I am grateful to our friends too.

  30. The most memorable happening in 2024 was spending time with my daughter and family. I love to play with my granddaughters, esp “Bingo” and Frozen” ! Would love to win this kit to make a memorable quilt for them. Thank you for the opportunity!

  31. 2024 was a wonderful year for me and my family, we welcome our second granddaughter to the family 🤗.

  32. 2024 saw lots of travel and family time with a brothers wedding in Florida and my oldest son in Utah. Adding in a work recognition trip to Grand Cayman and I ended up traveling more than I have in years!

  33. Lots of wonderful things happened in 2024. I was able to quilt and create some beautiful quilts/projects, but the most wonderful of all was the success of my son’s bilateral knee surgery. He has severe autism and had suffered for years with both of his knees dislocating constantly. Not only was it incredibly painful, but it was interfering with his quality of life. Most orthopedists shied away from performing surgery due to his disability. However, we found a wonderful doctor who took on the challenge and the surgery to date has been a success! We are so happy with our son’s recovery and his knees have not dislocated in months! Happy New Year, Pat and thank you for the opportunity to win this gorgeous kit!

  34. I loved Christmas 2024. I had all my boys home to visit and we all got a long and my husband made some smoked salmon that I can’t stop thinking about and people remembered my December birthday!

  35. A number of things. Another new granddaughter and another granddaughter due in 2 months, one of our children bought a new/bigger home, and overall I’m becoming more focused on my quilting again

  36. I’ve completed all of my unfinished quilt tops! Now to make more…I must tackle my precut collection. 😯

  37. My best times in 2024 were all the times I spent with family. Getting to see my kids and grandkids brings me such joy. Quilting keeps me sane the rest of the time.
