The best thing about 2024 was how much time we got to spend with family. I have a 2 year old boy and we made an effort to visit family with grandparents and great grandparents and spending time with family has helped us grow close and has filled my heart with such joy and gratitude. I was so blessed this year.
For 2024, I have many things to be thankful for but, I am truly thankful for the return of my daughter’s health and the doctor who corrected the prior botched surgery that had left her in terrible pain for nearly 3 months. Literally, the day after that surgery, she stopped all pain meds and was able to return to her normal life.
2024 will be remembered as the year my son retired! (Making me OLD) He has joined us in Florida from the Yukon for the winter. The first time we have had him visit for Christmas in 25 years. Now I’m looking for a pattern and fabric to start another quilt for him.
Hoping to get back into sewing in the new year.
The most memorable will be the day of the total Eclipse. My whole family was together and my oldest daughter got engaged. What a day!
This year was particularly wonderful. Our first (and only) grandchild was born. It has been so great watching her grow. All the firsts; including the most recent-first crawling. Can’t wait for the amazing things she’ll do in 2025.
In 2024, I was able to take a few crafting/wool workshops for rug braiding and rug hooking. This was a craft I wanted to learn for better appreciation of what some of my ancestors have done (My Great-Aunt Rosamond hooked a room sized floral rug for one of her bedrooms!). I picked this as my highlight since these workshops occurred after I recovered from extensive sinus surgery and the blood clots that occurred after the surgery. I am hopeful that 2025 will be a healthier year and I can get back to my list of quilt projects! I am scheduled to attend a quilt retreat with family & friends at the end of February! Happy 2025 to everyone!
Please enter me in the giveaway for the beautiful quilt kit!
The best thing in 2024 was a visit from my daughter and twin grandchildren. I’ve been in SC since 2018 and it’s the first time they have been down. Was a wonderful visit.
We have so much to be thankful for but one of the nicest things of 2024 is I accomplished many projects in the sewing room and in the garden. I pray you all have a great 2025.
Best part of 2024 was spending more time with family and granddaughter’s wedding.
Was able to quilt a bit more and gift several items throughout the year for gifts and for Christmas.
So thankful for family time in2024. Celebrating milestones and just hanging out together.
The most wonderful thing in 2024 was the birth of my grandson, Grayson. I am blessed with good health, a wonderful family and a great quilting community. Happy New Year everyone. May 2025 hold many special memories and blessings.
I am looking forward to the New Year and new projects. Love that Flower Shop – it combines my love of quilting with my love of flowers! Perfect combination!
Looking back on my 2024 year the memories that truly shine is time with my children, grandchildren and precious friends. I retired to a new state and a long way from everyone so having those I hold close to my heart visit me during the year is priceless!!
I have so many things to be grateful for in 2024 but in this post I want to highlight the purchase of a Bernina 790Pro sewing machine. I have sewn for 55 years and quilted for 35. I have had several machines over this time and each helped me grow my skills. But I have to say that this new machine enable me to take my quilting to a new level of precision and ease of construction. It makes me so happy!
2024 was a wonderful year. Not to much quilting though. My husband and I took a wonderful trip following the steps of Paul for our 50th wedding anniversary. We had two grandchildren graduate from college, one from high school, one from high school , one from middle school, and two from 5th grade. One of our grandsons played baseball in the 11U World Series in Pennsylvania and they won the championship! One of our granddaughters is a producer for our local news station and she won three Emmys! It’s been a wonderful year! I just need to make more time for quilting ❤️
I’m so happy that I got to sandwiching my Christmas quilt that has been two years in the making!! Hopefully I will have it quilted and on my bed this coming Christmas2025!!
I survived 2024 and very thankful for it! Quilting was great therapy this year when I needed it the most 😌
Best thing that happened in 2024 – My son got married!!! It was a truly magical day.❤️
I finally finally finished a quilt for my son and he loves it! He won’t let anyone else touch it because they might get it dirty. lol (He’s a grown man.) He has told me on more than one occasion how much he loves it and what a great job I did! But, he has also hinted if I ever make him another one if I could make it longer (he’s over 6 feet tall). Makes me feel so good.
The best thing was getting to stay with my granddaughter while parents went on an anniversary weekend. They live at the coast. We went bird watching down on the bay and then for seafood. Just hanging out with her was so wonderful!
I became a grandma for the first time in September. She is the most wonderful thing, ever!just want to sit and hold her 💕💜
The best thing of 2024 …lets see, I would have to say my visit from my son, his wife and our 3 year old granddaughter. Quilting wise, I never actually totally completed anything. Everything started is in the flimsy stage or quilted stage and still needing binding. I guess that is an epic fail.
My 2024 happy events are that I can now drive after breaking my left shoulder; I can eat with my left hand, I am continuing to slowly heal and therapy has been especially beneficial. I hope to be able to quilt once again 2025.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a trip to Mackinac Island and it was a blast!
2024 was a great year. I finished 2 T-shirt quilts!!!
The best things in 2024 were my quilting friends and my dog. Quilters gave me a walker with a bag they made, and my dog kept me active.
My third great grand baby was born, little Benny!! I am blessed with 12 grandkids and now three great grandsons. Lots of quilts to be made!
Lots of wonderful things happened this past year including buying a new house (downsizing), but they are all jumbled in my head because of the most recent, very wonderful thing that happened. All my children are well into their 30’s and finally one of my daughters is having a baby! And it’s a girl! I’m getting a granddaughter and am over the moon about it!!! Oh the things I can make for little Rosie! This is going to be sooo much fun!!!
The best thing about 2024 is my family stayed healthy! Also, your videos and sew alongs. And, I finished up a lot of quilt tops. Now, to get them quilted and bound. Love all of My Sew Quilty Life fabric and patterns! She is so talented. Thank you and Fat Quarter Shop for all your generosity.
The best thing about 2024 was all the projects that I started and some finished. Now I’m recovering from knee surgery to finish the incomplete ones. ❤️
I finished all my Christmas sewing early and was able to enjoy a relaxing time not trying to finish a project at the last minute.
The most important thing that happened to was I bought the new 990 Bernina machine and a wonderful sewing cabinet and a new car our old car was bought in 2011.
The best thing about 2024 for me was a whole year of retirement for me and my husband. We enjoyed trips and projects and just being together. Some of our trips were to visit out of town family, which we couldn’t do when we were working. And now I have more time to sew. He even suggested going on Shop Hop trips! He’s definitely a keeper. (We’ve been together 44 years.)
I am thankful for all of the time I had with family and friends in 2024. Hoping that 2025 will be SEW good!! Happy New Year!
The best thing about 2024 was getting smiles from the quilts that I gave to people. Definitely worth the effort of quilt making!
Enjoyed Christmas with my entire family.
The best thing about 2024 for me was getting back to my dream career… a nurse! I have 3 children ages 2,4 and 6. I was lucky enough to have been able to take the last 6 years off to be with them but I’m so thankful now to be back doing what I love!
One of the highlights of 2024 was spending time with my son – mini adventures. As well as I got a new job in July. There were so many small wins throughout the year. I also accomplished one of my goals to do a rosary weekly, their were only a few weeks that this was not completed. Still a win.
This year I will remember finishing 5 quilts in 6 days at a retreat with my besties! All of them were WIPs except for 1 so it was quite a rewarding experience.
The most wonderful thing for 2024 was my grandson! He was born November 10 and is such a joy!
The best was to spent more time sewing and quilting with my granddaughter,
Many great things in 2024. Trip to Michigan with my daughter and two grandchildren for a week in June. I completed 25 quilts this year. I gave 8 of the quilts to my Bible Study couples, my Minister and one. of the Assistant Ministers at my church and 3 Christmas quilts to family members. I continue to maintain my home by myself after my husband passed 4 years ago this month. Had unexpected expenses for my home but God was with me through all of it and I managed it on my own. I get to babysit my two grandchildren in St Louis at least once a month so my dog Taffy and I get an 1 1/2 hr road trip each way to see the kids. I’m getting caught up on all the quilts projects I bought I hope to do 35 to 40 quilts this year. All in all 2024 was a good year for me .
The highlight of 2024 was the birth of our grandson in May. He is a long awaited baby for our son and his wife which makes his brith all the more sweet!
Best thing about 2024, I discovered the Sloan Zone on YouTube. I look forward to each new video and also having fun looking at the past year’s videos.
The best thing about 2024 was that my young daughter beat cancer. We were also told that she would lose her leg to bone cancer, but got a third opinion and in January 2024 she had a successful limb salvage surgery and bone transplant. I feel so blessed.
There were many wonderful things about 2024 so it’s hard to pick just one. But I would have to say that it was the fact that I met a wonderful group of ladies while wintering in Florida, who I have become good friends with. Even though we aren’t back in Florida this winter, I still keep in touch with all of them via monthly Zoom calls and text messaging (and occasional phone calls). Love those ladies!
My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. A testament to my parents who have been married 71 years. Such an example.
I enjoy your videos and the inspiration they bring! Wishing you an amazing New Year! A couple of highlights in 2024 have been a visit from my grandsons and finishing and gifting quilts to 5 of my grandkids. And joining a local quilt guild, where I am hoping to make some quilty friends. Linda Webster
